PRO 2017 Fantasy Football Players in Contract Years Tool

Here you can find one of our decision-making, tie-breaker reference tools for use in your early 2017 fantasy drafts, MFL10s and mocks. (Note: always defer final decisions to the various cheatsheets, this tool is only a supplement). Listed are all NFL RBs, WRs, TEs and starting QBs scheduled to hit free agency in the 2018 season. The sheet is sorted by June ADP from FantasyPros’ June consensus ADP for standard leagues. Clearly, these are not rankings and are not meant to be used in any other way than to provide one extra data point in your analysis of who to take when in your fantasy drafts. Typically, we view it as a positive when a player is in a contract year because it means he will be auditioning for a new contract, not only with his own team, but for the 31 other pro scouting departments in the league. This extra level of personal, financial motivation provides at least some security (in a sport filled with variance) that the player in question will be going the extra mile at every turn in order to get paid when he hits free agency following the season. The sheet will be updated through the summer as ADPs shift and as players such as Devonta Freeman or Le’Veon Bell (presumably) sign contract extensions.
