The Trashman’s Scouting Notes:

With explosive 4.54 40 speed and a vertical leap in Indy that beat his nearest RB competitor by over four inches, Michael was considered by some to be the most talented runner coming into the 2013 NFL draft. The former Texas A&M Aggie possesses a powerful build, and breaks tackles with ease, but he’s also surprisingly elusive in the open field. Unfortunately, Michael was rarely used in the passing game in college, and thus protection isn’t one of his strong suits. He also loses some of his trademark speed when making cuts and is not an explosive player in small spaces. It’s Michael’s off-field antics that pose the biggest threat to him succeeding on the next level, with attitude problems to spare.

The Trashman’s Fantasy Outlook for Christine Michael:

Seattle has an embarrassment of riches on it’s hands as Michael is stepping into one of the stronger backfields in the NFL. Marshawn Lynch and Robert Turbin are already doing a fantastic job toting the rock, and with Michael currently being a liability in pass protection, chances are slim that he sees the field anytime soon. But the truth is that Michael is a better natural talent the Turbin, and Lynch is only under contract through 2014, so in a year or two this will be Michael’s backfield barring personality issues. That being said, Michael can be largely ignored outside of dynasty and keeper leagues this season, unless an injury occurs to Lynch and/or Turbin.
