Colts WR LaVon Brazill is Earning his Keep in Camp

Brazill Goes Nuts

New Colts GM Ryan Grigson must have taken a page from the Trashman himself in this year’s NFL draft when he scoured the small FBS receiver group to snatch up Ohio Bobcat LaVon Brazill.

With the 206th overall pick, Grigson acquired the speedy (4.47 40) Brazill to pick up the slack where Pierre Garcon left off. I know what you’re saying, “Austin Collie has that job,” but don’t speak too soon. This may be the first you’ve heard of him, but the 5’11”, 192 lb Brazill racked up 23 touchdowns during his career in the MAC as a receiver, returner, and reverser?

Ok, a little literary license was needed, but hopefully you catch my drift. Brazill is no slouch, and he’s already showing it in practice camp taking the lion’s share of first team reps opposite veteran Reggie Wayne.

A natural fit on the outside to Collie’s slot receiver profile, Brazill is a fantastic runner and is willing to go over the middle(hopefully even after he gets hit). Collie should still retain value with QB Andrew Luck, but I think Brazill has the higher upside here. Definitely worth a spot in dynasty leagues, and in redrafts for those not faint of heart, the sky is the limit for LaVon Brazill.
