Fantasy Impact: Broncos vs. Jets

The Thursday Night Fall Out

Denver Broncos

  • Tim Tebow being Tim Tebow. Another 15 point fantasy game and another clutch game winning  performance. I’m getting very used to this.
  • Willis McGahee was a big disappointment with a fumble and -1 fantasy points. This game was an offensive stinker  all around though and McGahee is still the RB to own in Denver. It may be an understatement to say Denver attempts a lot of rushes.
  • Von Miller is sensational. I watch quite a bit of AFC West football and he has been around the ball all year. This was his first national platform to show everybody what he can do and he was behind the Jets line of scrimmage all night. He recorded: 10 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 3 tackles for loss, 4 QB hurries, and put the hurt on Mark Sanchez. It looks like that transition from DE to 4-3 LB is working out just fine, John Fox really knows how to use the guy.
  • The Broncos defense looks very strong. If they can keep games close, Denver will have plenty of chances to win games with Tebow.

New York Jets

  • Mark Sanchez is so inaccurate it kills the fantasy value of his receivers. He completely diminishes their upside. Sanchez also looked considerably shaken in the post game press conference. His confidence definitely seems down.
  • The eyeball test tells you Plaxico Burress is clearly the Jets WR you want to own.
  • Shonn Greene  went down with a rib injury early in the game. Its ok, he is a terrible fantasy RB and you shouldn’t be starting him at this point anyway.
  • Joe McKnight came in to relieve Greene since LT is injured. McKnight looked very solid posting: 59 yards rushing and 62 yards receiving on 7 targets. His playing time will likely be contingent on Greene and LT”s status but McKnight is definitely a guy you want to keep an eye on.
