Peyton Hillis Re-injured Hammy in Friday Practice
Alex Dunlap, Rosterwatch.com

Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plains Dealer reported minutes ago that Cleveland RB Peyton Hillis, seemingly poised to make his return from Hamstring injury this week has re-injured his hamstring. She reports he injured it on a run then “threw the ball and threw his helmet on the ground.”

Some other quotes from people in attendance:

“He looked distraught” and “It looked bad.”

He left the field with training staff just prior to the open media segment of practice.

What a nightmare for owners of the Madden-Cursed RB. Houston is not a great matchup, but many were hoping they would have the guy they penciled in as their RB2 back this week. The extent of the injury is still unclear, but based on the way things have been going this season and the unsettled nature of his contract- this seems like another in a series of weekly setbacks.

I will be bumping him down in my RB rankings and bumping up Chris Ogbonnaya. Houston is not a great matchup, but with Hardesty out, there really isn’t too much else the Browns can do in the run-game. Plus, Chris is a Texas kid and former Texan (this season, even) He’ll have a lot of motivation to run hard against the Texans this weekend, especially if he is doing so in a feature role.

Stay Tuned to the Injuries Page this afternoon for news as we get it.
