Pregame Warm Ups: Week 4

Pregame Warm Ups: Week 4
Byron Lambert, Rosterwatch.com

I moved Cam Newton down in my QB rankings tonight. I am starting to envision a scenario where the Bears really frustrate Newton by containing the big play and are also athletic enough on the defensive line to keep him in the pocket.

Curious to see if Dane Sanzenbacher continues to produce. He’s made it on the outer ranges of the radar.

Ryan Fitzpartick is a must start even though I do think the Bengals have a better than advertised defense. Watching to see if Donald Jones keeps it up. I think this is the week Scott Chandler finally falls off. He can’t score a TD every week.

Andy Dalton’s performance will tell us know whether there is any reliable fantasy relevance in CIN for 2011.

If Chris Johnson doesn’t summon his inner CJ2K this week owners will freak.

A slow game by Peyton Hillis and he becomes a buy low candidate. Keep your eye on Montario Hardesty though.

Brandon Pettigrew has all kinds of fantasy potential. We need to see him string a few games together before we get too excited. Look for a solid game vs. DAL.

Is Jahvid Best what he is?

Can Felix Jones run the football and get the tough yards against a good defense? Or does the door for a time share open a little more?

Do the Vikings coaches use common sense and listen to their superstar, Adrian Peterson? Feed the beast!!! He looks great and really should be a top 3 fantasy RB.

How much work does Dexter McCluster get and how good does he look? He has WR eligibility in many leagues and if he is getting 15 touches at RB he could start becoming pretty useful.

Does the Mike Shanahan RB carousel begin after recent thoughts of benching Tim Hightower? He has been a pleasant surprise and a nice boost for many teams. A drain on his production could really hurt owners who rely on him.

Whispers of Chris Cooley re-emerging? Excited Fred Davis owners hope not!

What is the freaking deal with Steven Jackson and Frank Gore?

Does Mark Ingram keep up the momentum and start becoming a staple or will it be back to the guessing game?

Big Ben should continue to get on track in this game. He needs to because he is a borderline starter as it is. We will also find out if Antonio Brown is worth relying on; his problem is consistency. Here is a chance to establish some.

Everybody is watching to see how the Arian Foster / Ben Tate situation begins to work itself out. I won’t believe any of it until I see it.

If Eli Manning and Hakeem Nicks don’t go off in this game be worried.

Why I am starting to get the feeling the “3rd year Darren McFadden rule” may not apply to Beanie Wells? The more I think about it the more he seems like one of these guys that will have less flat tires when he is in contract year. Could be the beginning of the “4th yr. Beanie Wells rule”.

The Falcons Offense  has been underwhelming and I expect that to continue in a weird game in SEA.

Maybe Sidney Rice is semi for real? Wouldn’t hold my breath! How is the move to SEA looking for Zach Miller?

My fantasy football team is hoping to see Brandon Lloyd get on track. If not the preseason naysayers may have had it right. I need Kyle Orton to keep his job.

If your league scores special teams production you can strongly consider using Jacoby Ford this week.

Another stinker from Chad Ochocinco and he is completely drop-able in all formats.

Reggie Bush owners, cross your fingers he has a decent game with Daniel Thomas out. Then trade him immediately for          something…..anything…….

One last looksie just to make sure Ryan Mathews is a real #1……just making sure……

Is Santonio Holmes fantasy garbage?

Rosterwatch is very high on Legarette Blount this week. Expect Blount Force Trauma.

If you aren’t sold that all Colts are fantasy useless this should be the last game you need to confirm it.
