PRO: RosterWatch Week 5 Matchup Tool

alex bylineWelcome back. This is a proprietary weekly tool provided by RosterWatch.

It is designed to be a decision-making tool for gauging the defensive opponents your fantasy players face. If you are new to this, our time-tested, most popular tool, the instructions couldn’t be simpler, and can be found below.

RW PRO users can download the matchup tool in the downloads section of their profile by clicking HERE.

INSTRUCTIONS:

To use the tool, think about your fantasy player.

Let’s say you own Steelers RB Le’Veon Bell, and would like to see how he matches up against the defense he faces this week.

First, look at the Steelers’ matchup for the week, and see what the number is inside the “vs. RBs” cell for the Steelers’ OPPONENT.

(Bell is a RB, and you would like to know his opponent’s rank vs. that position.)

As you will see, the Steelers are playing the Chargers, who have a big, blue ‘No. 1’ in their “vs. RBs” cell. This is a great indicator for Bell owners.

Repeat the same process for other players on your roster as you are trying to decide which players to start and which to sit.

“1″ is the best matchup, “32″ is the worst.

BLUE: Best Matchups
LIGHT BLUE: Borderline Top Matchups
LIGHT RED: Borderline Bottom Matchups
RED: Worst Matchups

The rankings represented here are derived via a proprietary algorithm which takes into account not only standard “fantasy points against” metrics from 2015, but also weighted averages and medians of separate individual player and defensive unit scouting grades for members of the 2015 unit that will be defending, pass-rushing, or covering against the position in question.

  1. Hey guys, I am in a 10 team standard league and am currently ranked 8th. Thanks to D Murray, Lynch, Evans and and Watkins.

I just finalized a deal giving away Lynch for D Freeman and T Benjamin. Have I just completely destroyed any chance of a resurrection?

    1. well it will probably help you this week at least. at this point you have to take one week at a time. maybe you can parlay this into trading freeman or benj in the future if you need more depth. right now you just need a win.

  2. Looking for guidance. PPR pick one please , Blount, John Brown, or Gio? Thanks!

Prob Brown in PPR- but pretty high on Blount this week- please wait to see the Trashman’s flex rankings on Saturday

  3. 12 team ppr dynasty: trade my Brandon Marshall, Carlos Hyde and 16′ rd 1 pick for Aaron Rodgers, Matt Forte & his rd 2 pick?

RB: Blount, Ellington, Hyde, Martin, Starks

  5. I want to trade this guy for Amari Cooper, but I’m have difficulty figuring out what would entice him without ripping myself off. Next year we are starting this as a keeper league, so Cooper definitely has some upside in that regard. I’m looking to deal a TE in it hopefully, I got Kelce in a 3-way trade that the 3rd person backed out of so I’m stuck with 2 good TEs. We have a flex spot though so it’s not all bad. I’ve already traded with this guy once this season, so I know he’s willing to deal. I traded Latavius Murray and James Jones for DeAndre Hopkins from him earlier this year. Anyway, here are our teams, 1 point PPR.

    Me:
    QB: Tom Brady
RBs: Le’Veon Bell, Jeremy Hill, Chris Ivory, Doug Martin
WRs: Julio Jones, DeAndre Hopkins, Brandin Cooks, Rashard Matthews, Nelson Agholor, Allen Hurns, Martavis Bryant
    TEs: Travis Kelce, Tyler Eifert

    Him:
    QBs: Russell Wilson, Colin Kaepernick
RBs: Marshawn Lynch, Latavius Murray, Chris Johnson, Tre Mason
WRs: Amari Cooper, James Jones, Percy Harvin, Victor Cruz, Brandon Coleman, Jarvis Landry, Eric Decker
    TEs: Colby Fleener, Delanie Walker

I was about to send Brandin Cooks and Tyler Eifert for Cooper, but I don’t know who that’s really benefiting. Help me please.

    1. we like your idea of Cooks and Eifert for Amari. See if he’ll take it.

  6. Help for this week

    Carr or Dalton?

    Martavis Bryant or Kendall Wright?

    Jeremy Hill or Alfred Morris?

    Thank you

    1. Dalton, Wright, VERY TOUGH – Computer says Morris, the three of us slightly favor Hill. The computer is smarter than us, though. Feels like a coin flip.

  7. Would you trade McCoy for Moncrief or Maclin? Current RBs: Peterson, Ivory, Ingram, Martin, and K.Williams. Current WR: Cooper, Hopkins, Agholor, Dez Bryant, Stevie Johnson. Hurting this week with bye week and injuries.

    1. I would probably trade Mccoy for Monrief with your RBs. I’m not a RW staff member though, just my opinion.

      1. agreed with dark cloud, we’d do the deal and get the McCoy headache off your hands, your RBS are stour without him.

  8. Ppr league. Hyde Anderson Hillman, d Adam, I have gates and clay also. Need one for flex and one te unless you think play both.

    1. We’d roll out Carlos Hyde and hope for the best and feel pretty good about Gates. GL.

  9. Need to Sit two in PPR league this week:

Gore, Hill, Martin, Lat Murray, David Johnson?

  10. Hey Dudes! Thanks for the great content. I’m starting Julio and Hopkins but can flex either Montcrief or Amari Cooper in a PPR. Any thoughts? Thanks!

    1. would have certainly said Cooper, hope that’s what you did.

      1. Thanks Alex. I didn’t start Montcrief and I’m glad. Now it’s between Cooper and Jordan Matthews and the matchup tool says Matthews so I’m going that route. Great show tonight, thanks for everything!

  11. In a ppr league
I need 2wr and a flex out of Antonio brown, Alshon Jeffery, Dante moncrief, kamar Aiken, Allen Robinson Karl’s Williams and Antonio Andrews

  12. I need 1 WR and 1 Flex out of A. Cooper, R. Randle, D. Martin, and Crowell. Other than Randle, none really have great match ups.

  13. with luck out tonight for TNF, i need 1 wr & 1 flex plz. (full ppr) (20yds rec-run/1 pt)
    – moncrief
    – tate
    – hurns
    – bernard
thanks, luv u guys on siriusXM
team name – waver wire whores (3-1)

  14. Out of M. Gordon, L Blount, R Hillman and A Abdullah which two should i start. Standard scoring

  15. tough but as of now we say Blount Hillman, but please keep an eye on official rankings as they are updated.

  16. Trade J. Hill for Marshawn Lynch? Trade saturday so I can use Hill this week… standard

    1. if it’s a must win situation. i don’t love hill’s chances vs seattle.
