PRO RosterWatch PRO Exclusive Scouting Footage: Paul Perkins RB, NYG

Shane Vereen is out for the Giants with a torn triceps. He could still potentially return this season, but if he does, it won’t be until the fantasy playoffs at the earliest. That means rookie stud Paul Perkins out of UCLA is about to be in. The guy has some Devonta Freeman to him. Some of the players in your league will be led to believe that Bobby Rainey is the pickup as the “change-of-pace weapon” in the New York backfield, but all of our maniacal work over the course of the NFL offseason, as usual, leads us to a much different perspective than our competition.

  1. With all of the RB injuries around the league, what are your thoughts on Karlos Williams after week 4? There has to be a team that picks him up right?

    1. Who even knows if he’s in shape and could pass a pee test etc.? We’d have figured he would have been picked up long ago, so it seems like something fishy is up. He’s a very speculative add at best at this time as a street free agent.

  2. Would you drop Dixon or dewyane washington for perkins ?

    1. Probably not either of those guys for another week or so but it’s close – he’s a great guy to target if you missed out on that type of player last week.

  3. 10 Team PPR (2 Keeper)

    [1] QB: Brees
[3] WR: Hopkins, Cooper, Evans (Gordon)
[2] RB: Gurley, C.J. Anderson (Matt Jones, R. Mathews, Booker)
    [1] TE: Kelce (Walker)
    [1] W/R/T: Diggs
    Bench total : (5)
    [1] IR: n/a

How big of a mistake was it trading away T. Coleman for Ryan Mathews last week!? I also dropped C. Michael for CJ’s handcuff Booker on Sunday morning per your advice on Twitter and feel like a fool after how Michael performed! Also maybe I should have taken that Antonio Brown for Hopkins and Cooper deal …

So now with my 2nd waiver priority how/where do highly owned guys not on the WWCS like C. Michael and Duke Johnson rank? Both above Howard who isn’t available anyway? I could also go after Dixon, Steve Smith, Smallwood, Crowder or Rudolph (in that order?) My team is 2-1 after losing only by 7 to the highest scoring team last week so should I even bother using my 2nd waiver priority on anyone and who would I even drop!? PRO member here needing your expertise!

    1. Can’t dwell on the past Renourak. Upwards and onwards. We’re on to Week 4. Not necessarily above Howard but would be in same tier

Like the instructions say- recycle 1-2 players per week if you can- even if it’s after waivers run. You don’t necessarily have a ton of guys to drop. It’s tough in a 10 man league.

  4. Based on this statement:
“Even when Ryan Mathews gets back, the Eagles backfield will be a RBBC, with Wendell Smallwood likely to get heavy doses on the goal line. Darren Sproles is a handy flex as long as Mathews is out.”

Can I drop Ryan Matthews in a league with only 4 bench spots? I have David Johnson and Lamar Miller as RB 1 and 2 with Tevin Coleman and Derrick Henry on the bench.

  5. We wouldn’t , but you could if it was an emergency

  6. If I have 105 dollars left out of 150 faab budget, would you spend 30% on Howard or go cheap here with Perkins? I’m hurting for an RB2, I got Hyde (RB1) then Martin, Foster and Henry. And would you drop Foster for any of these waiver wire guys?

    1. Sounds like you could use both Howard and Perkins. Howard the most. Yeah we’d go in at 30% then scoop Perkins for a couple of dollars.

Would prob drop Foster for Howard

  7. Is it time to drop Blake Bottles and start streaming? Flacco and Tannehill are probably the 2 best available options for this week.

    1. Streaming is fine, the draft cheat sheet was designed with that in mind. There is a surplus of QB1s. We still like BB and think he is on the rise, but when in doubt just play the matchups. If you have to change QBs like underwear or DEF or K – go for it.

  8. Looking at possibly upgrading Big Ben with Cam and offering trade over next couple weeks. Curious your thoughts on points gained at position from Cam over Ben? In your opinion is it worth losing my depth to “upgrade to Cam” – Start: QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE, FL, FL.

    My Team:
    Ben
    D. Murray, Hill, Howard, Alf, Dwy Wash, Booker
OBJ, Landry, Crowder, Gordon, M. Thomas, Moncrief (IR)
    Olsen

    His:
    Cam, Dalton
CJ Ander, Lat Murray, Darkwa, Powell, Vereen
    Fitz, Diggs, Sanu, Kerley
    D Allen, Ertz

My thought is if Washington and/or Thomas do well this week, pair one of them with Booker and Ben for Cam. Thoughts? I know it’s a lot but thank you.

    1. Yeah, I don’t know that Booker is going to offer a whole lot of value this season to anyone but Anderson owners. Cam’s upside is just too high to pass up.
