RosterWatch Waiver Wire Cheat Sheet: Week 11

Byron BylineWinning fantasy football means being active on the weekly waiver wire. You have to be, as the season morphs before our very eyes from week to week in dramatic fashion. This means that every week, you need to identify the unproductive garbage at the bottom of your roster and exchange those players for the hottest new pickups. Often times these free agent acquisitions end up being valuable commodities that can change the course of your season.

The RosterWatch Waiver Wire Cheat Sheet is a weekly tool that will help you easily navigate this process, with expert results guaranteed. Researching free agent pickups can be mind-numbing and time-consuming, so we’ve done all the work for you with this simple one-page document. Use it exactly like the Draft Cheat Sheet- start at the top and work your way to the bottom.

All players in the tool are less than 50% owned across all major fantasy sites. Many of them may even be had for free on Wednesday morning after waivers run. Please post any questions about the player rankings within this tool in the comments section below.

Hey, need 2 of the bunch for flex in .5 PPR. Gore, R. Matthews, West, C.J. Anderson, and Watkins

    1. Florida-

      Mathews + Gore. Good Luck

  2. I was offered Aaron Rodgers for Andre Ellington. We start 2RB’s 2WR and RB/WR/TE Flex. 10 Team Full PPR.

Current RB’s: Ingram, Bradshaw, Ryan Matthews, Montee Ball.
    Current QB: Russell Wilson.
Current WR’s: D. Thomas, Alshon, Kelvin Benjamin.

    Make the Trade or no

    1. TCards-

No we would not do that trade. We would consider a package where you send Wilson back and maybe you get a sleeper RB in return. Otherwise we like Ellington and you need him. You should feel
just fine rolling out Wilson as the Seahawks make a playoff run. Good luck!

    2. Actually you know what- I just realized you had Bradshaw didnt see that. Yes wed prob do it- BUT we would send Wilson back in an effort to upgrade a part of the roster. Maybe TE or maybe send Alshon and Wilson back for an upgrade at WR or maybe even another of your RBs for an upgrade to a Jamaal Charles or LeVeon Bell or smthn. Sorry about the confusion- good luck.

  3. 3rd place out of 12 teams at 6-4 and two days til the deadline so I’m wondering if I should trade for a better QB before it’s too late!? I just lost Palmer after scrapping the waiver wire all year!

    QB: RG3 (M. Sanchez)
    WR: Julio Jones & Evans (Gordon, D.Robinson [WR/RB] )
RB: Lynch & Jennings (R. Matthews, S-Jax, West)
    TE: Gronk
    FLEX: Julius Thomas

    1. Trying to offer Lynch straight up to the Rodgers owner but he asked for Lynch and Thomas in return? His other RBs are Vereen, Hill, and J. Bell so I figured Lynch would be enough and there’s no one else on his team I could use: DT, Sanu, T. Smith, V. Davis, H. Miller… Thoughts?
    2. Also another owner has Ryan and Rivers so who is the most you’d give up any of those 2 QB options? That team has needs at WR so I was trying to offer him D-Rob with his WR/RB eligibilty for either QB straight up but he wants Josh Gordon!
    3. Lastly, think it’s worth trying to buy low on Cam Newton? I was thinking of offering D-Rob to the Cam owner as well… He offered me Cam and Rainey for S-Jax and Evans but I couldn’t pull the trigger because I need to start Evans this week due to lack of options… so assuming I can pickup Garcon off waivers would you do that trade?

So RW experts do I stick with my current squad for the playoff stretch or maybe pursue one of those options!?

    1. Renourka-

You have an incredible team that should just now be hitting it’s stride. Sanchez and RG3 are our top 2 waiver wire QBs- we are very comfortbale with that combo- and would honstestly be surprised if you dont win your league with the your roster as currently constituted.

We would not give up Lynch or Denard. Having so many great flex options and already rostering Gronk- we would definitely try to move Julius Thomas RIGHT NOW in some type of deal to upgrade your starting roster- if not QB maybe even Evans plus Thomas for Calvin or something. At QB Rivers is a great target whose price shld be reasonable- but in all honesty it’s hard to say exactly how much better he will be than Sanchez or Griffin. If we could sell high on Sanchez and Julius for a Drew Brees type player we would do it. Good Luck.

      1. Thanks a ton Byron! This was just the kind of advice I needed! You guys are the best!

If you’ve got a chance, I have more one other trade question in my other 12 man league where I’m in 1st at 8-2. Thanks to your RW cheatsheet I ended up with a similar TE STUD combo and my team looks like this:

        QB: Rodgers
WR: K. Benjamin & Evans (Harvin, J. Matthews, Bowe)
RB: Jennings & Bradshaw (T-Rich, McKinnon)
        TE: Gronk
        FLEX: J. Graham

Should I be trading away Graham or Gronk in a package with another WR or RB to strengthen either position? One team was thinking of offering me Jamaal Charles and maybe Garcon for my Graham + Evans or Matthews actually but not sure if I need the RB boost that much to give up Graham? That team also has the following WR: Sanders, Garcon, K. Allen and RB: Ellington, J. Hill, Mason, Hillman, CJ Anderson and Donnell at TE. Would you make a trade?

        1. Renourka-

We would sit tight here and keep both Gronk/Graham. That is a lethal combo just now heating up. We like Charles but its not enough of an upgrade at RB for what we wld consider a big downgrade in ur flex from Jimmy to Garcon or any of your other bench players. We dont like the other guys roster that much. Good luck

  4. Doing strangely well in our very competitive 12 team 1/2 PPR league despite my woes at QB. I have Jay Cutler and Kyle Orton. Do you suggest making a trade for a top QB – who would you trade from the list and for which QB?

RBs – Arian Foster, Alfred Blue, Rashard Jennings, Amahd Bradshaw, Reggie Bush
WR – Antonio Brown, Demarius Thomas, Brandin Cooks, Mohamed Sanu, Andre Johson
TE – Travis Kelce, Larry Donnell

    1. jaksteel-

We actually like the Cutler / Orton combo if you can matchup
play them properly- especially Orton as of late. But, it’s fair to admit that can turn into a very difficult situation to manage. We think Rivers is a good target, as is Matt Ryan- and the biggest sleeper might just be Drew Brees.

The best would be if you could trade one of your QBs + Andre Johnson for one of those guys- unfortunately it probably wont be enough. Assuming you start 2RB/2WR + Flex – you could shop Bradshaw and plan on using Cooks/Sanu in ur flex. Good luck

  5. Which defense should I start this weekend? I have the Giants on my roster, but I can pick up either Washington or the Chiefs. Much Appreciated!

    1. GMEN-

We dont really like either option. Our first recommendation is to take a look at the defenses on our WK11 Waiver Wire Cheat Sheet.

If not- KC is the safe play for a handfull of points, WAS is the boom/bust option with some upside against an unpredictably bad TB team. Good luck.

  6. I am having a rough year, but I’m still in the consolation bracket in my 12-team standard league. I’ve been plagued with injured or under-performing RBs. I need two for this week of the following:
    R. Jennings
    M. Ball
    D. Sproles
    T. Mason
    C. Sims
Used Sproles and Mason last week, but was thinking Jennings and Ball this week. I still have concerns about their injuries though. Thoughts?

    1. serpent_89-

Definitely roll out Jennings. We are pretty comfortable with him. We can see the logic behind Ball this week, and actually think it’s a sneaky play. Talked about that on the radio show tonight. However, we feel safest with Sproles here. PHI is going to have to be wide open on offense this week. Good luck.
