RosterWatch Waiver Wire Cheat Sheet: Week 2

This is a weekly tool provided by RosterWatch.

We’ve gotten a myriad of feedback over the last 24 hours thanking us for Kelvin Benjamin, Percy Harvin, Cordarrelle Patterson, Rashad Jennings, Brandin Cooks, and Julius Thomas- players the vast majority of our users acquired using our Fantasy Football Draft Cheat Sheet.

Now that we’ve won our drafts, and hopefully had a successful first week, we turn our attention to winning the waiver wire. For those of you who used the Draft Cheat Sheet, we have created a weekly supplement to it.

The RosterWatch Waiver Wire Cheat Sheet is a weekly tool that will help you easily navigate the season, from here on out – with expert results guaranteed. Researching free agent pickups can be mind-numbing and time consuming, so we’ve done all the work for you with this simple one page document. Use it exactly like the Draft Cheat Sheet- start at the top and work your way to the bottom.

All players in the tool, are less than 50% owned across all major fantasy leagues. Many of them may even be had for free on Wednesday morning after waivers run. Please post any questions about the player rankings within this tool in the comments section below. Good luck, and happy hunting!

*** Waiver Wire Tip- If positive news about The Black Anaconda, Josh Gordon, comes out prior to waiver deadlines tonight- you will want to strongly consider upping your bids into the 50+% range. It will likely take near an entire budget to acquire him. Also, if Andy Dalton and/or Ben Roethlisberger are somehow un-owned in your league- you will want to give them strong consideration at the top of the quarterback waiver heap. They are currently each approximately 75% owned.

  1. Have Phil rivers. Bidding $12 on locker and $11 on forsett. Sound reasonable?

  2. Josh-

Sounds reasonable- not sure what your starting budget was?

      1. Josh-

We’d like to to get aways for a little less, because we don’t trust Forsett- however, yes, that is reasonable for a potential starting RB in an RBBC. We wouldn’t lose much sleep over it if we didn’t get him. Good luck tonight!

  3. I have a question about the week 2 rankings. Do I go by rankings, matchup, or ECR. Also I’m not sure what the vs. ECR numbers mean.

    1. Ector-

You go by rankings. We factor matchups into those rankings. Of course, you will want to use our Weekly Matchup Tool that comes out every Wednesday so you can break things down for your own exact situation. ECR is the average ranking among all industry fantasy football experts. The rank vs the ECR is our ranking vs the industry average (whether we are “high” or “low” on a player).

Pay most attention on Thursdays to where we have the Thursday Night players ranked- as well as Saturday nights and Sunday morning when all of our work is in for the week and our projections go final. Good luck this season

  4. I’m dropping Ray Rice. Should I pick up Steve Smith, Justin Forcett or Ahmad Bradshaw? (Standard format)

    1. It would help if you could tell us who your other wrs and rbs are. Sight unseen I’d go with Forsett if you need the help right now.

  5. Hey digging real deep…who has more ‘stash and hope’ value with better potential to emerge this year due to injury…. Lav Murray in Oakland or Robert Turbin, Sea at RB? I realize Michael is in Sea but they seem to really trust Turbinator. I love Murray’s measurables! Would have to drop JStew which I am afraid to do because I still think he could return to his old form this year. Thoughts?

  6. JCL-

We wouldn’t lose a ton of sleep over JStew- that said right now we like him better than either of those other guys. Turbin would have lots of value if Lynch goes down- you might be able to hold him over the Lynch owners head in your league as a “pot sweetener” in a trade. Good luck.

  7. I currently own Terrance West. Should I pick up Crowell also, or would Bradshaw, or DWill, be better options. My other backs are Lacy, Jennings, Joique Bell, and Khiry Robinson.

    1. KCBlackKnight-

This is a good consideration. You would basically have CLE run game locked up and we LOVED Crowell as an NFL Draft prospect- he’s the best running back CLE has. That said with Ben Tate still in the mix- we might diversify things here and go Bradshaw since you already have a pretty nice horse in the CLE race- and there’s not technically a handcuff. We would drop Khiry Robinson for either. Good luck

  8. Start Locker against Dallas or Stafford ?

  9. Goodfella09-

Wait to see our final rankings later this week. For now- we say roll with you studs- Locker has a great matchup but Stafford is the guy you need to start. He looked unbelievable on MNF- and always offers a nice combo of safety and upside. Good luck- don’t outsmart yourself

  10. Exactly what I was thinking ….one more thing should I start Kelvin Benjamin over Desean Jackson ? In a ppr league? RG3 worries me…matter of fact I am thinking of trading D-Jack….

  11. Help please. I am considering dropping Dunbar to pick up Taliaferro. I cannot keep both due to roster position limits. I am also considering spending $20 out of 100 for Taliaferro. What do you think? BTW, I have plenty of other good RB’s, but I am intrigued by Taliaferro. Thanks.

    1. Scottie-
Taliaferro looked pedestrian whenever we scouted him in person pre NFL draft. We think that’s way too much to spend on him with that budget especially if you’re not hurting at rb. If you want to drop Dunbar that’s one thing, but don’t break the bank on that guy.

  12. Should I drop Devonta Freeman and pick up Crowell?

    1. grh1988-
In most formats I would say yes.

    2. 12 team standard scoring

  13. I have a office football league i’m running. Standard league & non-ppr. League not very active. Very active player proposed Collin Kaepernick and Steven Jackson(backups) to another team for Geovanni Bernard(starter) and Josh McNown(backup). Very active player that was about to get Bernard was IRATE to say the least that I blocked the trade. He already has Payton Manning and is the favorite to win the league. What’s your opinion on this trade I blocked as the commissioner????

    1. Seems like the guy was about to get fleeced. I wonder if this was before or after yesterday evening’s game. He’d probably have cancelled too had he seen it. That being said, I’d put a league vote to it. The other guy will have a lot less to whine about if the majority of the league feels similarly.

  14. 12 team league and a flex position of WR/RB/TE
