RosterWatch Waiver Wire Cheat Sheet: Week 9

Byron BylineWinning fantasy football means being active on the weekly waiver wire. You have to be, as the season morphs before our very eyes from week to week in dramatic fashion. This means that every week, you need to identify the unproductive garbage at the bottom of your roster and exchange those players for the hottest new pickups. Often times these free agent acquisitions end up being valuable commodities that can change the course of your season.

The RosterWatch Waiver Wire Cheat Sheet is a weekly tool that will help you easily navigate this process, with expert results guaranteed. Researching free agent pickups can be mind-numbing and time-consuming, so we’ve done all the work for you with this simple one-page document. Use it exactly like the Draft Cheat Sheet- start at the top and work your way to the bottom.

All players in the tool are less than 50% owned across all major fantasy sites. Many of them may even be had for free on Wednesday morning after waivers run. Please post any questions about the player rankings within this tool in the comments section below.

  1. Drop Michael Floyd for Lafell, Andrew hawkins, or Beckham Jr? .5 PPR

    1. tcards19-

Close call. We would drop him for Beckham. Good luck.

  2. Keeper league and need a roster spot badly. Do I drop Adrian Peterson?

    1. Caleb22-

Yes- Peterson is definitely droppable. Gotta win now. Good luck.

  3. I’m in a 12 team PPR league. I have Terrance Williams on my team. Should I pick up on waivers either Martavis Bryant or Allen Robinson to start over Williams. Thanks for the help!

    1. GMEN305-

Gosh that’s really close- only because Robinson and Bryant are so promising. It’s not an indictment on Terrance at all. We are really high on Williams this season, even though he has been somewhat touchdown dependent. He’s the clear #2 on a good offense- we’d stick with Terrance. Good luck.

  4. 12 team PPR. Tough spot on waivers this week as my QB1 is on bye. Would appreciate any advice:

Have Austin Davis – would you drop for Ryan Fitzpatrick or Michael Vick for this week match up?

Would you drop Bryce Brown for Charles Sims, Jonas Gray, Alfred Blue or Lorenzo Taleaferro?

Would you drop Brandin Cooks for Larry Fitzgerald or Cordarrell Patterson?

    Any advice is appreciated!

    1. I would maybe consider Vick, but I might wait till he gets an easier matchup. Fitz has the best matchup versus the Eagles, and has actually been pretty productive. I’d trot him out there. I’d wait till I was sure Martin wasn’t playing to consider Sims. I’d drop Brown for Gray or Taliaferro if Forsett sits. I wouldn’t drop either Cooks or Fitz for Patterson unless maybe you get points for returns, and then I’d only drop Fitz..

  5. Do you guys have a DR you can send my way by chance? My RB corps is severely depleted… I’ve got Jennings, Richardson, Mckinnon Fred Jackson and Smith (dropping Smith this week)
On top of the RB disaster I have some bye week issues with WR’s Megatron, D Jackson, D Adams, Benjamin… I’ve got Gronk and Kelce at TE and Houston and the Pack D

14 team .25 per reception league // I’m thinking about trying to land Matavias Bryant off waivers, and put in a claim for Sims as well and likely drop the Packers D even though Houston has the bye

For whatever reason nobody really trades in our league so I don’t overly want to drop Kelce even though outside of the bye week he’s riding the pine…

Any suggestions would be great. Sitting 7-1 thanks to your guys draft help… Well and for taking Manning

  6. For this week only PPR Clay, L Wilson or Gresham?

    1. Clay, I might check to see if Harbor is available though.

  7. would you drop Carson Palmer or Cutler for RG3?

    1. I’d like to see him in a game before I did something like that.
