RosterWatch Week 11 Matchup Tool Now Available

alex bylineWelcome back.

This is a proprietary weekly tool provided by RosterWatch for our PRO community. You can download it as always, or use the new, sortable and user-friendly online version.

It is designed to be a decision-making tool for gauging the defensive opponents your fantasy players face. If you are new to this, our time-tested and most popular flagship tool, the instructions for use couldn’t be simpler, and can be found below.

RW PRO users can download the matchup tool (or access the online tool for use) in the downloads section of their profile by clicking HERE.

DO NOT RELY ON “FANTASY POINTS AGAINST” as your primary indicator for player matchups ever again. It is a flawed metric, as you’ll see, which will cause you heartache and struggle.

The rankings represented here are derived via a proprietary algorithm which takes into account not only standard “fantasy points against” metrics, but also (and most importantly) weighted averages and medians of separate individual player and defensive-unit scouting grades for members of the 2017 unit that will be run-stopping, pass-rushing, or covering against the position in question, along with other analytic trends including projected game-script, game-flow, Vegas indicators, volume of total snaps and much, much, more.

INSTRUCTIONS:

To use the tool, think about your fantasy player.

Let’s say you own Chargers RB Melvin Gordon, and would like to see how he matches up against the defense he faces this week.

First, look down the list and find the Chargers (Gordon’s team). You will see that the Chargers opponent (OPP) is the Bills in Week 11, and there are four color-coded cells in the horizontal columns marked “OPP vs. QBs,” “OPP vs. RBs,” “OPP vs. WRs” and “OPP vs. TEs.”

These are the OPPONENT’S (in this case the Bills’) OFFICIAL ROSTERWATCH MATCHUP RANKINGS AGAINST THESE GIVEN POSITIONS.

They are not the rankings for the Chargers, but rather, for the OPPONENT THEY FACE IN THIS GIVEN WEEK (the Bills). In the “OPP vs. RBs” cell for the Chargers, you’ll notice a big, blue ‘No. 1’. This means Gordon faces the best possible matchup for opposing RBs in Week 11 (the Bills). This is a great indicator for owners of Melvin Gordon and Austin Ekeler, and is a positive one for those thinking of rostering either of them in DFS contests.

Repeat the same process for other players on your roster as you are trying to decide which players to start and which to sit in season-long leagues. Also use it to identify which upside-plays to roster in DFS contests based on matchup.

With the launch of the online tool, you can now sort by any column: vegas line, over/under, and matchup ranks vs. each position for easy reference.

“1″ is the best (easiest) matchup, “32″ is the worst (toughest).

COLOR-CODES
(you like blue matchups best)

BLUE: Best Matchups
LIGHT BLUE: Borderline Top Matchups
WHITE: Neutral Matchups
LIGHT RED: Borderline Bottom Matchups
RED: Worst Matchups

  1. PPR league, need two WR’s out of D Parker, Dez, Alshon, and M Lee? All 4 are so close IMO

    1. I would go Alshon and Parker. Dez a close third.

  2. Need 1 PPR
    Marqise lee
    D Jax
    Davante Adams
    Rishard Matthews
    Crowder
    Corey Davis

    1. Post By Kwillee@hotmail.com

I would go with Lee this week or djax this week. The others have tougher matchups.

      1. The other WR I was starting that I thiught was a lock was Woods. But I don’t like the matchup, would you start Crowder over him or roll with woods?

  3. Post By chevychuck@hotmail.com

Need a streamer QB with Cam on bye. Fitz, Rivers, Eli, Bortles, Keenum, or Mariota?

    1. Post By Kwillee@hotmail.com

If Rivers starts on Sunday he is your guy. It is a tough call. Throw a dart and drink early and often on Sunday!

      1. Post By chevychuck@hotmail.com

        Cheers to that

      2. Should I trade fournette and Bcooks for Wentz engram funchess.?

  4. Currently looking at Doug Martin, Jamaal Williams or Tevin Coleman for a flex play this week.
Considering my options, who would you prefer roll with in a standard league?

    1. Post By woo.jonathanwoo

Solid options. My vote is Coleman.

      1. Agreed. I really like Coleman as the feature back this week.

      2. Should I trade fournette and Bcooks for Wentz engram funchess.?

  5. Hi RW,
I need a QB for this week while Cam is on bye. Who would you pick up out of Keenum, Manning, Rivers and Big Ben (someone dropped him this week). Dalton and Bortles also available.

Who would you drop to pick up the above QB out of D Henry, D Lewis, Darkwa, Drake or Buck Allen (as you can see I have too many RBs!).

Finally, who would you start out of A Cooper, JuJu and Woods – can start two plus T Hill already locked against the G Men (where G is for given up).

    1. Drop Buck for Ben. I see a nice comeback week from Pitt.

      1. Thanks will do that. Must win at 4-6!!
Is it just the Woodhead situation that has you guys to down on Allen? I’ve been interested as you have had him as a drop for weeks, but he’s the 18th overall back on ESPN.

Can you pick two of Cooper, JuJu and Woods this week?

  6. 4-6, A team has no name

Need a win this week to stay alive.

Pick 3 WR in standard. Crabtree, K. Allen, D. Adams, N. Agholor, S. Watkins or activate D. Westbrook and drop A. Eckler (have M. Gordon though) or R. Smith.

    1. Finally someone states their team name and record! I go Crabtree, Allen, Agholor.

  7. I have Hunt, T Coleman, Mixon, Darkwa, Burkhead, Evans, K Allen, Garcon Tate, Funchess, C Davis, Rudolph, and Brate in a half point PPR, 10 team league.

Would you trade Mixon for Duke Johnson? Or I may also be able to trade Mixon for Robert Woods. Would you do either of those? If so, would you prefer one over the other?

    1. Post By woo.jonathanwoo

If you can swing Mixon for Woods, yeah.

    2. Can you really get woods into that lineup? He is on fire right now but I’m not sure he can keep this up. I also don’t know if Johnson is an upgrade over Mixon. I like Mixons work load too much.

      1. Ok, I’ll stand pat. I grabbed Bortles off the wire today and really wanted to pair him with M Lee, but someone else got him. Do you think I should try and trade for him?

        Thanks for the help!

  8. Post By sally_espejo@sbcglobal.net

1 pt. PPR league. Start Big Ben tomorrow or start Goff Sunday or pick up Cousins off waivers and start him. Also need 4 of 6 , D Hop, T Hill, Crabtree, M Thomas, Thielen, or Kelvin B.? Currently starting the first four.

    1. Post By woo.jonathanwoo

      I’d continue to ride Goff.

The only change to those four I would consider would be swapping Thielen for Crabtree.

    2. Can’t go wrong with Goff. I keep the starters the same. If I take anyone out it would be Thomas. I think Crabtree is going to have a good game vs the pats.

  9. Would you trade Mixon for Greg Olsen

    1. Post By woo.jonathanwoo

Can your RB depth handle the attrition?

      1. Itll leave me.with Bell Hunt Montgomery and Mack. Would be able to pick up Chargers rookie back

    2. No if it’s a flex league

  10. Post By Dbrittsports12@yahoo.com

1 point PPR. Pick 2: Diggs, Baldwin, D Murray, A Peterson.

    1. Diggs and Baldwin

  11. RosterWatch!

The trade offer is MY Parker for Mariota?

I’m not one for trades- have made one deal in 5 years of fantasy.

I’m 5-5 and looking to make the playoff push

My QB is currently Fitzmagic and need to upgrade for that push.

    Format is start 2RB 2WR 2 Flex
    WRs left with:
    Nelson, Hill, Davis, Watkins
    RBs
    Gurley, Drake, Martin, Woodhead,Henry

Thanks for your work and feedback!

    1. That’s too much for Mariota.

      1. Should I trade fournette and Bcooks for Wentz engram funchess.?

  12. Team name is GOAT, record is an embarrassing 4-6. Must win do I ship out Freeman? I have a decent squad hunt, Mckinnon, Darkwa, Collins, MThomas, Fitz, Parker, Funchess, CDavis, Engram + Mariota..What would u look to do? I’m projected to score pretty well this week.

    1. You can move him if you have to. He does your team no good if you don’t win this week. Depending on how bad the concussion is he might end up missing a few weeks.

  13. 8-2 1 st place – from your help! Trying to Hone for the play-offs TE Question
    Me: PPR 10 team
RB: DFreeman, CMcCaffrey, Tev Coleman, DMartin, AlMorris, KDrake. EElliott
WR: THill, GTate, SDiggs, SShepard, JuJuSmith-Schuster
    TE: Aust Sef-Jenkins
Greg Olson is available (but is on Bye this week), my TE ASef-Jenk on bye this week. Should I have one or both of those TE for the play-offs? What do I do for this week? I would hate to lose a TE for the play offs
Other TE available are: Greg Olsen, JThomas, M. Lewis, Ebron, BWatson, DNjoku, OHoward, CFiedorow, In any case I need a TE for this week
Who do I drop, who should I have (or just go without TE this week)
    Drop Zeke?

    1. Dropping Zeke isn’t a bad move in redraft. He claims he is dropping his a appeal but who knows with that case. I would not drop ask since it’s unsure how Olsen will come back. He gives you insurance if Olsen takes some time to get rolling again. You can probably drop Morris to get a Te to play this week. I can’t see you playing him over your other backs

  14. So coming into the week and down the stretch with Mariotta, DeMarcco and Corey Davis. From my roster these all seem like startable plays. Weeks 12-15 seem better for their offense but I’m not thrilled about playing 3 Titans, as you can imagine the QB wire is pretty thin. Flacco, Keenum, Eli, Rivers, Culter, Fitz… and worse.

Does a guy just roll those three out or find a sub at one of the spots?

Don’t see a wr with Davis’ skill and hard to not play Demarco which leads me to qb which is a mess.

Again, roll out the three or make a play at qb this week?

    Thanks.

    1. Kind of sounds like you have to. A lot depends on how bad you need a win but at the same time I’m not really sure I like any of those qbs on waivers. Maybe rivers if he is healthy.

  15. With Taylor being benched how far up would you put the Chargers D?

    1. They should be a good play this week. It’s always a good match up going against a first time starter.

  16. Help!!You guys have been saying get rid of Hopkins. I have a few deals on the table but one for one’s.

Hopkins for Thielen( might be able to get Hyde or Ty Hilton)

    Hopkins for M Thomas

    Hopkins for Baldwin

    1. I think Thomas and Baldwin have better finishes than Hopkins.

  17. Alright for my season here..

do I play Keenum, Mariota or Eli this week?

    Or

do I make a trade for Carr? Guy wants Drake, but I’m thin at Rb. Thinking about doing Drake, Robbie Anderson and Eli or Keenum for Carr McKinnon and Perine.

My rbs- L Miller, A collins Abdullah Rawls/Mckissic
    Wrs- Thomas, Cooks, Baldwin

    10 tm standard (rb/wr/te flex)

    1. Keenum will not have back to back monsters. Eli is tempting this week but can you trust him with your season? I like Carr the most. I really like the trade you have set up too.

  18. Who has the best matchup/most upside? Roethlisberger or Carr???

    1. Check the matchup tool

  19. Post By cjasinsk9@gmail.com

Need some mythical insight here on a flex position, half point PPR

    Desean Jackson
    Cooper Kupp
    Dede Westbrook

My heart says Dede but I’m also seeing hes going to be limited, appreciate the help.

  20. 15 -5 Crazy Horse – which 3 would you start — brown, evans, cooks, Shepard or Parker ?thansk

    1. Brown, Evans, Shepard.

  21. No tradecast tonight??

  22. Thanks Eyak, i will put my trust in you. As you were correct last week. I appreciate the help

    1. No problem brother. Hopefully the fantasy gods will be on your side this week and you will get your win.

  23. Cousins vs Saints or pick up Cutler / Manning

Corey Davis vs Steelers or JD McKissic at Flex Full PPR

Chargers Def vs the Rookie Buff QB or Seattle’s depleted Def

    Thanks!

  24. Hey guys, I’m 4-6 on a must win.
    Need a 1qb, 1wr, 1rb and a flex.
    Bortles, cutler (cam on bye)
Parker, Keenan alen, Chris Thompson, drake, k. Benjamin.
    Thanks!

    1. Parker, Thompson, Allen, and Bortles. It may be cockamamie but I think bortles has a big game, for him, this week.

  25. I need some help here. I’m 9-1 in a 14 teamer. 1st place gets a round 1 playoff bye. I’m really thinking about weeks 15&16 with this deal..

    QB Mariotta
    RB Gurley, McKinnon, Martin…speculative trash
    WR T Hill, J Jones, Cooks,….speculative trash

Give Martin and Cooks get Ajayi and Landry

    1. Ajayi does have a solid matchups week 15, 16.

  26. Post By Steelnation1825

Better TE option to target in trade for rest of year. Olsen, Gronk, Ertz, Engram? I have an opportunity to trade for one. Would you trade Hopkins, Baldwin, Ajayi, Howard, or Kamara?

    1. Prob Ertz. LOVE Engram for cheaper. Yeah- listen to the TradeCast going up shortly. Prob Hopkins.

  27. No specific question, but more of a comment. Thank you so much RW. Checking the matchup tool, I finally have the majority of my players in the dark blue field in single digits. Had my butt kicked horribly last week but you’ve given me immense optimism for week 11. Time to turn around my mediocre season. I’m heading out of the country for a much needed vacation and I’m going to set and forget my line-up for the week and will watch the games with a cool beverage in one hand while the other hand talks some shit to the rest of my league. #RW4EVA
ps – Duke J. or Jamaal Williams. PPR for my RB2.

    KC

    1. Prob Duke. Safe travels!

  28. Can some remind me from the WW pod where Alex and Byron stood on Perine or Ekeler for ROS pick ups.

I’m buying the JD McKissic love but can’t remember the other two.

Opposite roles lead back and scat back roles. In Ppr does that lean us to Ekeler or will Washington lean on the run more down the stretch. Which oline and coaching strategies give either an edge?

    Thanks again as always.

    1. in ppr maybe Ekeler

  29. Post By Longhornfireman

Team name “Laying Down Newton’s Law” 8-2 in 8 team standard. 2 Questions
I have Hunt, Fournette, Gordon, Lynch and Ekeler with plans to play top 3. Seems like Hunt’s RB ranking of 15 this week is really low considering the “5” rating in the Match-up Tool for KC RB’s against NYG — is there some background thing I don’t know about, (like the Jags activating 4 RB’s last week, hinting less play for Fournette)? With Fournette now appearing questionable because of ongoing ankle problems does Lynch become a better option even though Fournette’s initial ranking was considerably higher?

    1. Keep an eye out for huge rankings updates tomorrow!

  30. League 1 Flex. Standard scoring. Martin @ Mia, DJax @ Mia, or Morris vs Phil?

League 2 Need RB, WR, & Flex.
    D. Lewis @ Oak
    Drake vs TB
    Morris vs Phil
    Anderson vs Cinn
    Hopkins vs Arz
    Jeffery @ Dal
    DJax @ Mia

    1. Keep an eye for Trashman’s flex rankings. It’s Martin or Djax for me

Prob: Drake , Lewis + Alshon + Hopkins

  31. Cousins vs Saints or pick up Cutler / Manning

Corey Davis vs Steelers or JD McKissic at Flex Full PPR

Chargers Def vs the Rookie Buff QB or Seattle’s depleted Def

    Thanks!

    1. cousins, davis, chargers

    2. Stick with Cousins.

I know the boys at RW love Mckissic this week. I would prob go the safer route with Davis. He is going to get his targets and will be on the field for most of the game.

      Go with the Chargers.

  32. ppr .. hopkins or devante parker.. also have a trade offer. this is a dynasty league also.. we start 2qb 3rb 3 wr 1 TE -kicker def. 10 bench spots. 8 teams with 22 man total rosters. we keep players
hunt, bell, hyde(bye), mckinnon, mixon, jamal williams, damian williams, james conner, rod smith
crabtree, hopkins, cooks, devante parker, robby anderson. i am VERY worried about bell’s workload.. he is on pace for something like 450 touches. we all know that is never good for a rb and of course he is a keeper. i got offered, fournett and sterling shephard for mixon and bell. i get fournett and shephard. i kind of like it BUT i am now worried about fournetts ankle.. thoughts?

    1. I stand pat. Bell has a few years before the massive amount of touches catches up with him.

  33. Post By chuckcnc@icloud.com

Stuck this week as I lost Tyrod Taylor to a shitty decision by the coaching staff. How the hell do you bench your QB when you are in the playoffs? Really?

Anyway, I missed on Big Ben on today’s waiver wire and have to add a free agent. 16 team league but since we are limited to only 3 bench spots I have a few viable alternatives (but not great).

    Ryan @ Seattle
    Fitzpatrick @ Miami
    Keenum vs Rams @ home

I am leaning Fitzpatrick, which kinda makes me want to throw up.

    Where to lean here?

    Thanks RN

    1. I like Fitz too. I feel the Dolphins v Bucs could be a fairly high scoring game.

  34. Should I trade Dez? Here is my roster. 1pt ppr.
    Cousins/Goff
    RB’s
    Hunt
    McCoy
    Mixon
    Drake
    J Williams
    WR’s
    A Brown
    Dez Bryant
    S Watkins
    J Doctson
    TE
    D Walker/Olsen on bench

Offer is this. Sterling Shepherd and Duke Johnson for Dez and Mixon

    1. I still like Dez going forward. He should see his production go up with no Zeke.

  35. Team name The mighty tacos 6-4. Ppr league need a flex K. Allen d Parker or Cory Davis. Thanks for the help B

    1. Go with Parker

  36. Post By mjgoodsman@live.com

Team name Ron Swanson record 7-3 Zeke will be out until our championship. I have 7 bench spots and Zeke is holding a now “dead” spot. What do you think about picking up Woodhead and dropping Zeke?

    1. Being 7-3 I would assume you have a shot at making the championship. If you make it there, holding Zeke will be well worth it.

  37. Post By zevo82@yahoo.com

Huge matchup this week…hyde on a bye…my options are James white or Jamaal Williams?…1 PPR….thanks

    1. White is good for at least 10 points in PPR. I think he hasn’t got to that mark only 2-3 times this year. Williams is due for a big workload and has more upside. Personally I would play safe and take the higher floor.

  38. Start 2 of the following. WR in a 12 team PPR

    WRs:
    Ju Ju
    Alshon
    Keenan
    Corey Davis

    RB’s:
    Dion Lewis
    Jamall Williams
    Perine
    Ameer

    1. Go with JuJu and Alshon

  39. Post By Dsummitt15@sbcglobal.net

    ALEX, BYRON, or TRASHMAN

Standard Scoring, who should I start in my flex this week. Keenan Allen, Corey Davis, Sexy Rexy, JD Mckissick?

    1. Allen if Rivers plays.

      1. Post By Dsummitt15@sbcglobal.net

Appreciate the respone eyak29 but Alex, Byron or trashman could I get your advice on this as well? If rivers doesn’t play who should I go with? will we know before the game tonight? What shoud I do if we don’t know if Rivers plays?

        1. Post By Dsummitt15@sbcglobal.net

First week of playoffs for me this week. I need to make sure i get my lineup right.

          1. The bad news is that we will not know if Rivers plays today. He is trending in the right direction but you never know with concussions. I would go with Davis. He should see a ton of targets. I always worry about the pats Rb because you never know who is going to play.

  40. In a 1PPR one player keeper league I just traded Evans, Zeke, DMC and Lynch for Maclin, Fournette and AJ Green.
Thoughts on this move? Should I make any more? I’m 6-4, third in points and currently the #5 seed.

    QB: Wilson
RB: Fournette, Kamara, Ekeler, Jamaal Williams, Doug Martin
WR: AJ Green, Adams, Corey Davis, Maclin, Robbie Anderson
    TE: Kroft, Clay

    1. Zeke is the best player in the trade but for this year is worth nothing. This year you win this trade moving forward Im not so sure. A lot depends on your keeper rules.

      1. We can keep one player for max of two years. No draft impact, the player is just kept. I feel Zeke is the better player and more involved in the passing game, but I also wanted to make a move to win this year. Fingers crossed.
Do you think Kamara is worth keeping over Fournette?

        1. At this point no way is Kamara is a keeper over Fournette. Things may change moving forward. The move definitely sets you up for this year and it doesn’t hurt your next year keeper that much but you did give up one of the top keepers. With only one keeper you can get away with that though.

          1. Thanks for the input man.

          2. Welp, there goes my season

  41. FRoShizzle (6-4) 1Pt PPR, waiver sheet says to but should I scoop up Inman and drop D. Westbrook? Or pick up Inman and drop Gallman? Have him as Darkwa handcuff bc weak at RB. Also have Julio, what type of RB should I receive in return. WR’s include Sanders, Fitz, DJax and Kupp (Westbrook or Inman) if part with Julio. Or ride with current WR core? Meniacal thank you to you two who do all the work….. FU to Trashman and Brandon coleman!

    1. You can definitely drop Gallamn. You can also shop Julio for a number one back. Dont settle for something less. Your Wr will be hurting if you do move him though. You might be best standing pat depending on your RBs.

  42. Post By Longhornfireman

Start this week New Orleans defense or drop them for Chargers defense?

    1. See if you can keep them for later. Pick up SD if you can. Someone beat me to them yesterday literally by two minutes.

    2. I dont like dropping the Saints. They have been too good to drop. That being said the Chargers are the better play this week.

  43. Charles Clay or Reed
    Crowder or Woods
    PPR

    1. Reed shouldn’t even be on your roster anymore. Dude is done.

  44. Clay since Reed most likely will not play. Then I ride the hot hand in Woods.

  45. Man, this week has some tough decisions! I need two of Diggs, Keenan, Cooper, and Corey D. I also need to b decide between Latavius and Mixon. All standard scoring. Thoughts?

    1. Hope you didn’t start Corey D. Definitely Cooper … and maybe Diggs in standard. Would lean Keenan in PPR. for the RBs I’d go Mixon. GL

  46. Post By juliantrobles@gmail.com

mckinnon or tevin coleman? .5 ppr. Think the game sets up well for mckinnon, but tevin is in a workhorse role – just brutttal matchup.

  47. Full PPR FroShizzle (6-4) DJax, McKissic, Westbrook, Inman Kupp?

    1. Sorry need one for Flex

  48. FroShizzle 7-5, listening on delay and on demand and asked this on a few or your platforms. I sat Dak for Winston, should I pickup McCown and start over JWin? Thinking no but off an injury I worry. Thank you, I’m RosterWatch only and alway, best content! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️On ITunes!
