RWi RosterWatch Week 14 Matchup Tool

This is a proprietary weekly tool provided by RosterWatch.alex byline It is designed to be a decision-making tool for gauging the defensive opponents your fantasy players face. If you are new to this, our time-tested, most popular tool, the instructions couldn’t be simpler, and can be found below.

Matchup Week 14
To use the tool, think about your fantasy player.

Let’s say you own Giants RB Rashad Jennings, and would like to see how he matches up against the defense he faces this week.

First look at the Giants’ matchup for the week, and see what the number is inside the “vs. RBs” cell for THE GIANTS’ OPPONENT.

(Jennings is an RB, and you would like to know his opponent’s rank vs. that position.)

As you will see, the Giants are playing the Titans, who have a big, blue ‘No. 1’ in their “vs. RBs” cell. This is a great indicator for owners of Rashad Jennings, Andre Williams, or anyone thinking about utilizing either of these two players in their daily-league lineups.

Repeat the same process for other players on your roster as you are trying to decide which players to start, sit or pick up off the waiver wire for matchup or daily-league spot-plays.

“1″ is the best matchup, “32″ is the worst.

BLUE: Best Matchups
LIGHT BLUE: Borderline Top Matchups
LIGHT RED: Borderline Bottom Matchups
RED: Worst Matchups

The rankings represented here are derived via a proprietary algorithm which takes into account not only standard “fantasy points against” metrics, but also weighted averages of separate individual player scouting grades for members of the 2014 unit that will be defending, pass-rushing, or covering against the position in question in Week 14.

Please ask any questions in the comments section below, and good luck in the fantasy playoffs.

  1. Hey guys. Final week of the regular season. Win locks up 1st round bye. Gotta sit 1: JHill, Gio, Alshon, Edelman, Watkins, Landry. Also, Reed or Donnell? You guys are the best. Thanks.

      Icepick-

He can go big at anytime, but we would sit Watkins right now- he just doesn’t look right and Orton is no longer force feeding him.

We’d go with the matchup for Donnell- but we would also be looking on the Waiver Wire for someone like Kyle Rudolph who has an amazing matchup and is starting to come on. Good Luck.

  2. Hey guys who 2 start Strafford or brady need a win this week also Crowell or j stewart non ppr

    1. grahamhill87-

We all need wins this week! Brady + Crowell. Good luck!

      1. Thanks buddy

  3. Jeremy Hill or Ryan Mathews- Standard leage RB2?

    1. Rob H333-

We’d roll with Mathews. Good luck.

  4. Need 2 RBs of this group for first round playoffs. Jennings, Matthews, Hill, Mason, Herron. Also is Davante Adams or Donte Moncrief worth starting over Mike Evans? Thanks guys

    1. VickInABox-

Mason and Jennings (if he goes). If not- then our final WK 14 rankings will likely show Ryan Matthews as the next guy up. Good luck

    2. Also- I like what you are thinking here, but I’m just not quite ready to start either of those guys over Mike Evans who is a WR1 on the year through 13 weeks, and has massive redzone potential at any given time. We roll with our stud there. Good luck.

  5. Also this will most likely be my doom. Kyle Orton or Brian Hoyer?

    1. VickInABox-

Yikes! Is Ryan Fitzpatrick on your wire? He has a tremendous schedule for all of the fantasy playoffs. Good question, a tough one- but we roll Orton here. Buffalo is going to get behind and have to throw the ball, much like Cleveland may- but Orton is not in jeopardy of being benched- Hoyer is and that would hurt you badly. Also Orton has just been playing better than Hoyer lately. Good luck!

  6. Sproles or Reggie Bush Rb2 in PPR

  7. Mike-

Solid question, hard to trust either. We’d roll the dice on a healthy Reggie Bush at home with fresh legs against a much better matchup. Good luck.

  8. One more quick question. Hill, Gio, or both? Have Edelman as the other flex option

  9. icepick16-

Ideally, you’d pick the right rb out of those two and bench the other for Edelman. Right now, we’d say roll with Gio over Hill and flex Edelman. Good luck!

  10. Looking for some professional guidance with my team..
    Qb Wilson
    WRs Jeffrey, Tate, Landry
    RBs CJ Anderson, Lacy
    TE Gronk
    2 flex openings

Bench: Sanu, Donnell, J. Reed, Steven Jackson, Hawkins, D. Freeman, S. Bailey

    Its a standard PPR.

    Thanks!

    1. I’d go Bailey and Reed this week in a PPR.

  11. Gentlemen, turning to the experts in my time of need.
1point PPR, 3pt bonus for 50yr+ TD, up for the regular season championship. tied, but need to max points in event of tiebreaker.
    QB: Luck
    RB: Foster, McCoy
    WR: Gordon, Nelson
need last spot out of: Keenan Allen, Jarvis Landry, Sanu, Davonte Adams, Fred Jax, Jeremy Hill and Isaiah Crowell. Leaning towards Landry over Allen, just want to make sure I don’t overthink since Allen’s been hot.
    thanks!

    1. We have Landry and Allen back to back with Landry ahead.

  12. Here’s my full squard:1 PT PPR league
QB’s: Wilson (Starting), BENCH: Kaepernick and Sanchez
RB’s: Lacy, Lynch (RB1, RB2), Mason (Flex), BENCH: Crowell and Lat Murray
WR’s: A.Brown, Stills (WR1 WR2) BENCH: Evans, Lafell and Watkins
    TE’s: Olsen (No backup)
    PK: Parkey (No backup)
    Def: Texans (No backup)
I’m leaning on starting Wilson and Stills over Kaepernick and Evans. But that could still change by Sunday.

These players are on waivers: WR Bailey TE’s: Reed and Rudolph
Would you pickup either one of these TE’s for depth or even start if Olsen is Questionable-if yes who do I drop?
I really want to have that TE insurance. Should I drop KAEPERNICK?
Would you pickup Bailey and drop either Lafell or Watkins?or stay put with my current WR’s?

    1. I’d drop Kaepo for Reed, and right now I’d rather have Bailey than Watkins on my team.

  13. 14 team, standard. I have Donnell and Kelce Jordan Reed. Just became available. Who should I start – Kelce, Donnell or grab Reed and start him before someone else does? He’s ranked 1 in your chart, but one of the earlier posts suggesrs starting Donnell over Reed. I’m hovering at no. 3 with two Other teams breathing down my neck so I need to win and win big this weekend. Thanks!!

    1. We actually have those three back to back in our rankings with Reed at the top. I think McCoy’s going to target him a lot with Jackson out.

  14. My bad – I think I misread the chart; Reed is NOT listed at no. 1 v. TE’s. Same question though… Would love your opinion Reed, Donnell or Kelce? Thanks very much!

  15. Marion Grice or Stepfan Taylor? Could also plug in Matt Asiata or Chris Johnson in their stead.
