RosterWatch Week 15 Matchup Tool Now Available

alex bylineWelcome back.

This is a proprietary weekly tool provided by RosterWatch for our PRO community. You can download it as always, or use the new, sortable and user-friendly online version.

It is designed to be a decision-making tool for gauging the defensive opponents your fantasy players face. If you are new to this, our time-tested and most popular flagship tool, the instructions for use couldn’t be simpler, and can be found below.

RW PRO users can download the matchup tool (or access the online tool for use) in the downloads section of their profile by clicking HERE.

DO NOT RELY ON “FANTASY POINTS AGAINST” as your primary indicator for player matchups ever again. It is a flawed metric, as you’ll see, which will cause you heartache and struggle.

The rankings represented here are derived via a proprietary algorithm which takes into account not only standard “fantasy points against” metrics, but also (and most importantly) weighted averages and medians of separate individual player and defensive-unit scouting grades for members of the 2017 unit that will be run-stopping, pass-rushing, or covering against the position in question, along with other analytic trends including projected game-script, game-flow, Vegas indicators, volume of total snaps and much, much, more.

INSTRUCTIONS:

To use the tool, think about your fantasy player.

Let’s say you own Dolphins RB Kenyan Drake, and would like to see how he matches up against the defense he faces this week.

First, look down the list and find the Dolphins (Drake’s team). You will see that the Dolphins opponent (OPP) is the Bills in Week 15, and there are four color-coded cells in the horizontal columns marked “OPP vs. QBs,” “OPP vs. RBs,” “OPP vs. WRs” and “OPP vs. TEs.”

These are the OPPONENT’S (in this case the Bills’) OFFICIAL ROSTERWATCH MATCHUP RANKINGS AGAINST THESE GIVEN POSITIONS.

They are not the rankings for the Dolphins, but rather, for the OPPONENT THEY FACE IN THIS GIVEN WEEK (the Bills). In the “OPP vs. RBs” cell for the Dolphins, you’ll notice a big, blue ‘No. 1’. This means Drake faces the best possible matchup for opposing RBs in Week 15 (the Bills). This is a great indicator for owners of Kenyan Drake, and is a positive one for those thinking of rostering either of them in DFS contests.

Repeat the same process for other players on your roster as you are trying to decide which players to start and which to sit in season-long leagues. Also use it to identify which upside-plays to roster in DFS contests based on matchup.

With the launch of the online tool, you can now sort by any column: vegas line, over/under, and matchup ranks vs. each position for easy reference.

“1″ is the best (easiest) matchup, “32″ is the worst (toughest).

COLOR-CODES
(you like blue matchups best)

BLUE: Best Matchups
LIGHT BLUE: Borderline Top Matchups
WHITE: Neutral Matchups
LIGHT RED: Borderline Bottom Matchups
RED: Worst Matchups

    Full Point PPR Playoffs:

    QB: Cousins, Ryan or Goff

WR (pick 3): Hopkins, Jeffery, Green, Goodwin, D.Parker, A.Cooper

Only reason I ask the WR’s is because of the bad matchups and QB injuries.

    1. ryan, hopkins, green, goodwin

  2. Post By paulbwaiter@gmail.com

Roll with asj or pick up rsj, Hooper, James, Anderson. PPR. Thanks for your help.

  3. RB Q — I have a really good problem in trying to decide which RB to sit — I have Freeman, Gordon and Hunt and I picked up Collins a few weeks back. I would love to start Collins who has been a workhorse of late and has scored 5 TDs in the last 4 games. Would you sit Hunt or Gordon for Collins? thanks

    1. League is .5 PPR and I get to start 3 RBs. thanks

    2. i don’t mind sitting hunt if you want to play collins

  4. Post By Show Me Your TDs

16 team standard finished the season 10-4 (winning 8 of last 9) however now that its the playoffs I am essentially 0-0

    I need 1 RB and 1 TE

RBs: CJA, Henry, Forte, Barber, Woodhead
    TE: Seals Jones and Ebron

Thanks for getting me through this deep league

    1. i think cja and ebron offer your best combo of floor and upside

  5. Need QB Advice: BREES or A.RODGERS??

    1. i’d stick with brees

      1. Thanks Trashman!

  6. Post By mikey2430@yahoo.com

    Rodgers or Cousins?

    Hunt or Lynch?

    Full PPR Thx!

    1. rodgers, hunt if you need upside, lynch if you’re ok with a decent floor and not much else.

  7. Full PPR
Need 2 RB, Howard, Hyde D. lewis, Burkhead
Need 2 WR Jordy, Dede W, Marvin Jones
    Thanks

    1. howard, hyde, jordy, jones

  8. Post By kdhrris1@memphis.edu

    One Point PPR
    Need two
    Ingram
    Hyde
    K. Hunt

  9. .5 PPR J Landry or J Stewart in the flex? Normally, I would be rolling with Landry but I’m concerned about the Buffalo weather. How does Cutler do in that environment. Even if it’s not snowing it’s tough to throw when it’s in the teens.

    1. my only reservation about stewart is that they could abandon the run if green bay takes a lead. cutler shouldn’t be affected by the weather, he played in denver and chicago for years before miami, but the dolphins may decide to keep the ball primarily on the ground for game plan reason. if it’s not snowing, i would probably lean landry.

      1. Thanks Trashman!

Duke or Evans? In ppr and half point ppr

  11. Thanks for all of your help and advice; you’ve helped me make the playoffs in all 3 of my leagues! Woohoo!! Now, for the semifinals. In my big money league, PPR, I’m starting Gurley, Hunt, AB, K Allen, and Mike Davis as my Flex over Doctson or Stills.
For QB, I’m leaning toward Winston’s Monday night matchup over Goff and Garropolo. Thoughts?
For TE, I have Ebron, who I’m not thrilled with or Brate. I was thinking of shooting for the moon with a deeeeep sleeper, Mercedes Lewis since Fournette is banged up, Jags at home, Bortles playing well and Houston worst against TE’s, or possibly Ben Watson, since Cleveland is 2nd worst vs. TE’s.
For Kicker, should I pick up Butker instead of Lambo. If you don’t want to answer a kicker question, I understand.
Thank you for providing so much great draft advice and in-season assistance; I hope to bother you again next week for the Championship!

  12. Good morning — Do you think Kamara will get his usual load — assuming he is cleared to play? –And assuming he plays which other two backs would you start of these three — Fournette, Lynch or Collins. Thanks

    1. I see no reason why Kamara wont get his normal work load if he is cleared to play

  13. Chargers Def or Bills Def?

    Thanks

    1. Bills have a little bit better of a match up but I think that the Chargers are safer even though they will give up some points. I would go Chargers

  14. Are you playing Rodgers over Stafford this week?

    1. If Rodgers plays you have to start Rodgers.

  15. What would you do with this load of crap… full point PPR, need to start 1…

    Hooper, Clay, ASJ

    1. That is tough. I would go with Clay. He should be the safest play.

  16. Randall Cobb (assuming Rodgers is back), Corey Coleman, or Peyton Barber in the flex this week in full point PPR? Thanks

    1. Cobb value does go up with Rodgers but I think I would go Colemen

  17. Post By Frankyfootball425

1 point ppr need a flex from

    sterling sheppard
    alfred morris
    demaryius thomas
    jay ajayi
    robert woods

    1. Ajayi should be a good start this week with Foles under center

  18. Need Flex PPR:
    Gore
    Mixon
    Martavis
    Sammy
    Derrick Henry

  19. Cash money full point ppr-Lynch, Alfred Morris, Rod Smith, or Latavious Murray….rest of team is elite but rb injuries this year ouch. Just need to pick one rb and to me its close.

    1. All these guys are really close. As much as i hate the guy…Murray has a really good chance to score a TD this week.

  20. In the semi’s of a 12 Team 0.5 PPR

    I need 1 of these…

    S. Perine
    M. Crabtree

Thanks to ya’ll… came back from 2-4 to make the playoffs.

    1. Crabtree. Its not about how you start, its about how you finish. Get that Championship

  21. 1 Point PPR. Pick 2

    J Gordon, M Evans, and T Hill.

    1. I would sit Hill.

  22. Please help. PPR need one of these, M Lynch, M Evans, Burkhead, Woods?? Thank you.

    1. Keep Starting Evans.

      1. I guess that’s a joke…Evans has sucked but has great history against the Falcons. I have sat him over the last 3, I’m leaning Burkhead or Lynch, any other thoughts? Thanks.

  23. Post By BluntTrauma 57

should i start joe flacco or blake bortles?

    1. Bortles

  24. I’m a bit confused at QB, 6 pt pass TD, Dak, Cam or Winston.? Thank you so much!

    1. Roll with Cam

  25. Post By CanadianMonkey

with den starting safety injured and den d already weak against te should i start doyle over d walker this week … its a .5 point ppr its my semis and think im overthinking this since i have started walker pretty much all year, any opinions would be greatly appreciated thanks

  26. CJA or K. Williams PPR

    3 of 4 Standard
    Gordon
    Hunt
    L. Murray
    J. Howard

    1. Sit Murray and I hope you started CJA

  27. 1/2ppr need 3wr-2flex I think I know what I want but give me your opinion.
Thielen, Gordon, Kupp, Hogan, R. Anderson, DiDi. Abdullah, Alf Morris, Mike Davis

  28. Sit Abdullah, Davis, and Kupp

  29. Post By cjcnfg429@gmail.com

    Full point ppr

    AJ green or Dede Westbrook

    Rivers or Stafford

    Thanks appreciate the help

    1. Cant ever sit AJ and go with Rivers

  30. Semi-Finals here we go!

    A Rodgers or Cam?

Half PPR Flex M Lynch, Dede, or JuJu?

Half PPR RB2 J. Mixon, D. Murray, K. Williams or C. Ivory if Fournette sits?

    Thanks Nation

    1. Rodgers, Dede, and Williams

  31. PPR
    A. Morris or Mckinnon
    then
    pick 4 WR of
Hopkins, AJ, Dede, Kupp, and Thomas. (I get start your studs but I think that is too easy an answer for this week with legit players like Dede and Kupp having good matchups). Can’t afford a fantasy line that only gets 4-5 PPR points.

    1. morris, hopkins, aj, dede and thomas.

  32. Full point PPR

    Ryan or Dake Prescott

  33. I think I’m over thinking this. Standard league. I have Alfred Morris and Kerwynn Williams, and Marquis Lee is available. I need to choose one for my flex. I should start Morris, right? Despite the matchups tool saying he has the hardest of the three?

    1. yes, roll with morris

  34. Post By Mballiet1183@gmail.com

    Rogers or Rivers

  35. i think rivers offers more safety with comparable upside

  36. I am up against Hunt, Gordon AND Butker who all went nutz tonight….
I am behind the 8 ball around 23 points from what projections say –
I have Brees in at QB, but was wondering if I should switch to Keenam for more upside…
Disclaimer: I also have Micheal Thomas and Kamara – been rolling w 3 Saints….
Do you think Brees or Keenam is in a better spot to help me make up that ground???
    Thanks!
