Byron BylineBuilding a championship-caliber fantasy roster requires basic weekly waiver-wire management. We’ve created the Waiver Wire Cheat Sheet so that in a just a few minutes a week, our users can make the same expert waiver maneuvers we personally make in our own leagues, throughout the season.

Whether you play in a standard waiver claim format, or in a free-agent bidding system- we’ve got you covered. Read the chart top to bottom, and use it like the Draft Cheat Sheet. It’s not mandatory to go after the very top pick up every single week- use some basic discretion. Insane value can be cultivated through the bottom of the Waiver Wire Cheat Sheet, over the course of the season.

All players listed on the WWCS are currently on the waiver wire in at least 50% of fantasy leagues, across all major formats.

*Our advice is to recycle an average of 2 players per week from the bottom of your roster into hot waiver-wire pickups for the current week. This can be accomplished via waivers, or on the cheap as free-agent pickups post-waiver period (the Belichick-ian method that we love most).

    Thanks for the WW Cheat Sheet! Two questions that are somewhat linked, if you don’t mind:

    (1) What’s your take on Oak RB outlook? (aka Deandre Washington vs. Jalen Richards)

    (2) Top 6 on the WW cheat sheet are already drafted in my league. [My bench has D. Washington, D. Booker, M. Thomas, and Fitzpatrick as a backup QB]. Outside of M. Thomas, should I drop any of the other 3 for Tyrell Williams?

      Outlook is- DWash is our guy- so if we have to hold one it’s still him for us- but reality is- we’re all going to have to open up a roster spot or two for WW moves- and neither of those guys are “must owns” at the moment.

      Yes- depending on your starting QB we’d prob drop backup QB for TWill. Otherwise- we’d drop DWash for him, unless you own Latavius.

      Crab would be at the very top- Shep would be tied or right under Fuller. White can take a hike.

      DON”T DROP Lockett. We would Drop DWash for all 3 of those WR first- Lynch last.

      Personally I’m keeping Rawls. I believe he will take over the #1 spot once up to speed.

      No we would not drop Rawls for Coleman.

      Tough on White- he had a great snap count %, good targets- production just not there yet after only his first NFL game. Don’t drop Diggs.

      We’d go look at the preseason early season strength of sched tools for that batch of WR. We’d also look at last week’s matchup tool and start projecting. This week’s matchup tool will be up tomorrow. Also, in the end if all else is close- you have to roll with the guys producing now- can’t wait forever.

      Dropping KW for Fuller is fine. A little tougher for Sanu or Wallace- but still a very very close call. Depends on your whether you need a bench guy with future upside or if you need production to plug into your staring lineup now.

      Too early for sit/start questions. We always say- when you wake up Tues morning go set your best lineup for the coming week based on your morning gut. Don’t tinker with it until the day before your team starts playing for the week. And, don’t make any less minute changes unless they are clear.

      Love Lockett- but this sounds like a small league. If you get points for S/Ts it might change a bit- but yeah we’d drop him for Diggs or Fuller.

    RW, I’m one of the many that lost K.Allen this week. Will Fuller is on WW and i’m going to bid on him today to take K.Allen’s spot. This is my first year using FAAB for WW, so i’m new to it. To make sure I’m understanding the WW Cheat Sheet, i should bid 25% of my total FAAB ($200), which should be a max bid of $50. Is this correct?

      We suggest bidding up to 25% on Will Fuller, and we recommend bidding at least 15%+

      So that would be a bid of- $30-$50 in your case.

    Alright I’m in a tough spot, kinda in the same place as some others. 0.5 PPR with bigger points for RBs. 5 point bonus for 100 yard rushing game whereas only 1 point for 100 yard receiving game. Here’s my lineup right now

    RB – David Johnson
    RB – Lamar Miller
    WR – DeAndre Hopkins
    WR – Amari Cooper
    RB/WR – Eric Decker
    FLEX – Ryan Matthews

    Bench: Sterling Shepard, Kevin White, Derrick Henry, Josh Gordon

    I have 1st pick on the waiver wire. I’m thinking of dropping Kevin White for Tevin Coleman. Will Fuller is also available, but I already look good at WR and I have Hopkins. What do you guys think?

      Close call- this early in the season if you want an upside WR3- we’d prob say yeah go ahead use it on Fuller – then recycle your waiver spot many times and climb the waiver order mountain 2nd half of season to sit on a top spot. Drop Boyd.

      If you’re not dying for more WR- just chill- but still drop boyd for someone left at the top after waivers run

    rams 49’ers game didnt make the week 1 fallout article….give the Rams defense more sample size or drop? best available per WW cheat sheet is Bills,redskins, dolphins – ive streamed almost every year in FF and have no issue doing that, but man did that game vs the 49’ers suck.

    got another if you dont mind. drop jared cook for ty williams? i have delanie starting, wrs are great but startable depth isnt quite there – aj green, cooks, maclin, then tavon austin and kevin white-who im high on, but ill be running 3 wrs when leveon comes back and im one injury away from having to play tavon – and keenum makes cutler looks great. im also going to throw up if cook becomes the esclusive touchdown catcher when fatty lacy cant get in the endzone

        whats the deal with tavon, i know he has a small frame and has top level agility/speed/burst and all, but how are his hands? he hasnt had a qb and is still relatively new to the league and all… but hypothetical, if you put a guy like him on the bengals steelers or packers assuming no issues adapting to scheme… does he end up top 10?

Tavon is a capable player in multiple aspects of the game. i like to think of him as a less bulky Percy Harvin. if you put a guy like him on the packers, you’d basically have Randall Cobb. I hate every Ram’s performance on Monday, but I’m not ditching Austin just yet.

    Drafted well, thanks to the cheat sheet but I think I am weak on RBs and only have 1 TE. (Flex spot can be a TE)

    Dropped DeAndre Washington for Theo Riddick waiver wire pickup. Will be watching future cheat sheets for another RB. Any sleepers out there, you would reccomend taking a flyer on? I am not confident with D. Murray for the whole season. Also, Barnidge is available would you drop K. White for him?

      Sure, if you have the room. Probably won’t find out until week 4 or 5 though. if you watched his episode of Running Wild with Bear Grylls then you probably wouldn’t be too optimistic.
