RosterWatch Week 5 Waiver Wire Cheat Sheet

Happy Week 5 Waiver Hunting, everyone. It’s not the flashy group of waiver wire gems that we’ve seen in the last two weeks, but it’s a good crop of cheap talent very capable of alleviating bye week headaches and/or bolstering the depth on your bench. It remains as important as ever to stay on top of your waivers.

All players listed within the cheat sheet are less than 50% owned across fantasy leagues, and are likely to be available. Best of luck, but you won’t need it!

    Hey guys, 3-1 yay! Need some help with a TE bye week. I have Rudolph (14 team .5 point PPR) and the only ones on waiver are Owen Daniels or Crockett Gillmore. Question one, who should I pick up and question two, should I drop Rudolph or find someone else to drop? Thanks!

      who else could you drop? daniels is the safest play right now with gillmore questionable to return this week.

        I could drop Antonio Andrews (picked up last week)? Bench: Abdullah, Fitzpatrick, S Smith, B Marshall, and Andrews. I have James Jones as my flex, should I put Abdullah in instead?

          i don’t see a reason in rostering fitzpatrick. plenty of other middling qbs out there. i might go abdullah if bell sits again.

            Thanks. Our waivers hit Tuesday night, so I dropped Andrews, thinking he’d be there if I need him. QBs are sparse in our league, I have Stafford also. Maybe I should stream QBs though? Others available: Cousins, Foles, Bridgewater, Vick

    Ok you have me sold on Diggs. Would you drop Stevie Johnson for him in a 10 team standard? I also have on the bench/flex each week Sammy Watkins, agholor, James jones, Doug Martin, gore, Steve smith Sr.. 2-2 in the league so far. Thanks!

      we’d like to see him get major minutes more than once before you do something like that, unless it’s a dynasty league.

    Hi, I’d like to ask a trade question. His offer is he will give Ingram and I trade away Jeffery.

    RB: latavius, hill(traded for), Abdullah, Blount, woodhead, hillman

      your rbs are deeper than your wrs. who knows how long matthews will keep this up? i’d try packaging a couple of your rbs for an elite back instead of trading jeffery.

        Which RB to trade? I’m assuming sell Hill now after a good game. Do you guys think hill defines more of a lead role as the season progresses?

        Package hill, and maybe Abdullah for someone like Arian Foster?

          i think hill is solid. you’d be giving up too much for foster who is coming off a major injury. maybe abdullah and woodhead or hillman

            Thanks a lot for the advice. I’m thinking another direction now. The Lacy owner is 0-4 and down on Lacy. I’m thinking of offering latavius and Blount for Lacy. Is this fair, and does it help my team? I’d like to keep latavius, but I’m thinking Lacy is better rest of season, and on a better offense. Thanks again.

    12 team full ppt ppr league. We roster a maximum of 4 RBs and 4 WRs. We start two of each and have one flex.

    Current RBs: LeVeon Bell, Justin Forsett, Devonta Freeman, and Shane Vereen
    Current WRs: A.J. Green, Brandon Marshall, Steve Smith Sr, and Davante Adams

    I need to pickup a WR due to bye weeks and injuries. Going to put waiver claims in for Hurns, Austin, and then Hankerson. Algholor is already rostered and Diggs won’t help me since Minnesota is on bye this week. What should I do about Shane Vereen? He hasn’t caught a pass the past two weeks. I hoped he was going to assume the passing down role in the Giants offense. The following RBs are available on waivers.

    Hillman
    Rawls
    Andrews
    Riddick
    Thompson
    Michael

    I don’t need a RB for this week. However, what do you think about dropping Vereen for one of the RBs listed above? What do you think of Christine Michael? Do you think he might eventually gain the starting job due to Randle’s and McFadden’s ineffectiveness and possibly McFadden getting injured again? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

        No way I’m going GIO VS SEA here- but the trashman sometimes has some real nasty instincts that pay off. I like Brown or maybe Blount- check our final positional and flex rankings Sunday AM.

    Should I pick up Duke Johnson or stick with Shane Vereen? Very similar production to-date. More upside with Johnson. In a .5 PPR, 10 team league, 2 flex positions.

    Thanks for all the help so far, you guys have helped me go 3-1 so far (the one loss was before I became a member, lol). I need some guidance for this upcoming week: My starting RBs are L. Murray & D. Martin; should I sub in Abdullah? And in my flex I have B. Cooks and J. Matthews; should I sub in Agholor or Abdullah/Martin for Cooks?

      Yes, we cannot trust Cooks at this point- we would sub in Adbullah or Martin- please wait to see our final positional rankings on Sunday morning for our most accurate predictions. As for Latavius, we have some concerns about his matchup this week- again please see our final rankings for which 2 RBs we like most, and then the Trashmans’s flex rankings to sift between Agholor, Abdullah, Cooks. Tough decisions, a bit too early in week to give you the best answers possible

    I’m waiting on Big Ben to get back. Last week I used Flacco and was pretty disappointed. I’m in a 12 team league and Bradford and Stafford are out there. Would you recommend one of them over alex smith or bortles?

      i’m not trading lynch for sanders. your wr corps is more than sufficient. you don’t have a solid starter at rb behind gurley. i might drop jones for one of those guys though.

      I feel safer with Morris, but Spiller has more upside. if you have a good rb corps and just want someone who might hit homers, i’d go with spiller. i like Cutler

    I just offered up JStew on a whim to the Charles Clay owner who already owns Gronk and he countered with Clay for my Ivory. The best available TEs are Ertz, Miller, and Rodgers..

    His team looks like this:
    (1) QB: Tannehill (Vick)
    (2) WR: A. Cooper, Fitzgerald (A. Johnson)
    (2) RB: Hyde, McCoy (K. Williams, Sankey)
    (1) TE: Gronk (Clay)
    (1) FLEX: R. Jennings
    Bench total : (5)

    Any advice on what to do now? I’m already going to have to drop someone from my team for DEF later in the week so is this best way to consolidate my depth or is there a better offer I can make him? Am I crazy to think there’s a way to get Gronk from him?

      Yeah- we wouldn’t do that deal. We like Clay, but we really like Ivory and think Barnidge is a great option for the time being- although he does have a very tough matchup this wk- right now like Barnidge on the season quite a bit as long as McCown is in. Yes, Gronk is the deal you should aim for- we are always in favor of consolidating depth but we want to do it in order to upgrade our starting lineups with elite talent- Gronk obv qualifies. Might offer him Ivory and Steve Smith or JStew and JJones for Gronk- something along those lines. Maybe Gore if you think he values Gore, and if you like Gore less than Ivory on season.

        Thanks a ton man! Offered up Ivory and Steve Smith for Gronk but he only rejected it with a “LOL” and no way I can movie Gore/James Jones due to the game tonight so I guess I’m rolling with Barnidge @BAL this week unless you’d start R. Rogers vs. STL or Ertz vs. NO instead? (both guys ranked just slightly higher than Barnidge)

        One more question: who on this team gets cut for a DEF?

    I am in a 12-team ppr league. I have an opportunity to use my #1 waiver rights to pick up QB Tyrod Taylor. I currently own QB M. Mariota and QB R. Tannehill. Should I take advantage of the waiver priority and grab Taylor and drop Tannehill?
