Byron BylineBuilding a championship-caliber fantasy roster requires basic weekly waiver-wire management. We’ve created the Waiver Wire Cheat Sheet so that in a just a few minutes a week, our users can make the same expert waiver maneuvers we personally make in our own leagues, throughout the season.

Whether you play in a standard waiver claim format, or in a free-agent bidding system – we’ve got you covered. Read the chart top to bottom, and use it like the Draft Cheat Sheet. It’s not mandatory to go after the very top pick up every single week – use some basic discretion. Insane value can be cultivated through the bottom of the Waiver Wire Cheat Sheet over the course of the season.

All players listed on the WWCS are currently on the waiver wire in at least 50% of fantasy leagues across all major formats.

*Our advice is to recycle an average of 1-2 players per week from the bottom of your roster into hot waiver-wire pickups for the current week. This can be accomplished via waivers, or on the cheap as free-agent pickups post-waiver period .

    Been struggling with WR2 all season, current roster

    WR: Evans, Benjamin, Evans, Dorsett, Corey Coleman
    RB: Zeke, Gurley, Howard, JStew, Ware, White, Perkins

    Might be able to move a RB for a solid WR, who should I move/who should I target. It’s a auction keeper, so I’m not moving Gurley, and $3 Howard has some appeal.

    I was offered a trade to get Cooks and Mariota and I would send away Rivers in a 2 QB PPR league. I have Tyrod and Osweiler as my other two QBs. Other skill players are D. Murray, B. Marshall, Evans, Diggs, J. Mathews, M. Jones, K. White, Rudolph, Dorsett, & Gio. All roster spots are flex, so I’m not limited to starting RBs, WRs, or TEs.

    Deep league-12 teams, 17 on roster, 11 active each game. Standard scoring. Have a WR question. I have Cooper, Tyrell Williams, Dorset, Maclin(bye), and Boyd. Is Boyd droppable for any of these: Lafell, Royal, Ginn, DGB, vJax, Humphries, Inman. Keep in mind I’ll need to play them this week (need to play 4-5 WR).
    What about Dorsett? He saved his week with hat nice catch & score

    12 team 1 ppr, my WRS are the following;…..Edelman, Sheppard, T. Williams, A. Robinson, Decker and M. Thomas. Another owner WRS are the following; Crabtree, S. Smith, Crowder, D. parker, Cooks & Enunwa.

    He offered me Cooks for Edelman and I’m hesitant due to Brady being back (I have Brady as my QB…fyi). Do I pull the trigger or no or counter with something else?

    Ruh roh first real roster crunch because I need to pick up a QB since Brees has a bye week! I was fortunate enough to stash Dixon in the IR slot on ESPN and obviously he’d be the first drop seeing how you guys seem lower on him this week but it seems I’ll still be forced to drop someone else and I don’t know who to cut. Best available guys per the WWCS are Cruz, Perkins, Woods, Henry… also highly owned guys like Julius Thomas (bye), John Brown, Gates are also available.

    The only other other option would be to try and package two guys for an upgrade somewhere but trades are hard to make in this league so what do you guys say?

      very close call- if you aren’t relying on Foster now and still winning- we are fine with a drop in order to gamble on the longterm upside of the youngster Dixon. We’d use the index on the sheet for a general guide how to bid. Obviously, you know your league best.

    The inconsistencies here are starting to get annoying. Prime example: DGB is HIGHER than Seth Roberts on the cheat sheet, however, Roberts is higher in the rankings than DGB. Whats the deal?     I hate my team for the first time in years. Victor Cruz was a good pickup. Lockett & Sharpe just suck right now. I expected better from them. Charles is finally back next week, but Matthews has been below average, and I think Coleman will be below average the rest of the way. Henry could be solid with an injury to Murray.

    What the heck should I do? Free agents…

      LOL- 2-2 and shambles not the worst place to be. Yes, if you can start both of those guys- and if whoever is currently in your flex getting pushed to bench in this trade – that you also see a big upgrade there in your flex.

      There is some risk here, but prob risk you have to take- if this is a big upgrade to your starting lineup.

      You can drop DWill if you don’t own Bell. But, you should try to trade him to the Bell owner first in a 2 for 1 for a solid player in return- while also freeing up a roster spot for the Dixon acquisition

    Guy in my league has J.Charles, M.Jones, R.Mathews and J.Howard on the block and wants a WR. Another guy is shopping Gronk (at a discount), Cobb and Demaryius for a RB so my thinking is to possibly trade Julio for RB’s to the first guy then flip one to the other guy for Gronk. I would probably need to make a 2 for 2 or 3 because I would need a WR in return also. I know there’s a three way trade here but I’m having troubles figuring out. Any opinions from the nation would be much appreciated thanks!

      That’s hard to say, not knowing Hoyer’s long term prospects. At some point, Cutler could get his job back. We know Manning will keep his job. I’m not terribly concerned about holding onto many QBs in a 10 teamer. There are usually quality streaming options.
