Travin Dural, WR LSU

40 time: 4.57

– Pronounced like TRAY-vin

– Long, slinky and FAST; was used as the primary speed-option threat at LSU; there is some thought that his explosiveness was sapped through his career due to injuries, and the 40-time in Indy possibly speaks to that

– Father ran track at Louisiana Tech

– Ideally he’s a track speed-guy like Phillip Dorsett, Taylor Gabriel, Jakeem Grant, etc. but bigger in more of the mold of Darius Heyward-Bey;

– Played five years at LSU and will turn 24 during his rookie season in the NFL

– For the length he has, does not always extend to the football and is not a snatcher of the ball away from his body outside of sparse, highlight-reel catches

– Lets the ball into his body too often on deep throws and doesn’t seem to possess the natural ball skills you’d like from a prospect with his size

– He’s just not the kind of player who a QB can throw the football into his area and let the guy make a play on it

– With that being said, the QB at LSU in his last two seasons at LSU was nothing to write home about any way you slice it

– Reminds you some of Tyrell Williams or Danario Alexander with the way he can break a shallow slant into something much bigger by getting into gear upfield quickly, but Dural’s not a good route-runner at this time

– The only way that Travin Dural is going to beat you as a college player consistently is over-the-top, but if he gets over the top and catches it, no one is catching him

– Had his best year in his sophomore season where he was thought of by some as the next Odell Beckham and was on his way to similar numbers as a junior but tore his hamstring in the second-half of 2015 versus Ole Miss; was out of action for the entire spring of 2016 leading in to senior season

– Not a volume player at any point during his time at LSU, only two games ever of 6 receptions in four seasons ever

– Was one of the most disappointing players we monitored at the 2017 Senior Bowl; did nothing to ease concerns about limitations in his game
