The 3-1 49ers Sound Confident

The 3-1 49ers Sound confident

Members of the 49ers offense sounded confident this afternoon at open media session.

(No members of Rosterwatch.com were present to ask if this confidence stems from knowing that winning 4 of their next 13 games gets them into the playoffs since their division sucks.)

Tight End Vernon Davis said “amazing” approximately 348 times while RB Frank Gore echoed his sentiment, saying positive things like “That’s big.” and “The people at the hotel were very nice.”

Aside from the riveting dialogue and dynamic Q&A, what could be most easily noticed was a sense of confidence, a swagger and a togetherness we haven’t seen out of the 49ers in recent years. Not amongst their stars, at least. Vernon Davis once pissed off former head coach Mike Singletary so badly that Singletary literally dropped his pants in front of everyone in the locker room and gave a yelling tirade. No one is quite sure why he dropped his pants that day, but the point is that Vernon Davis caused it by not being a team player.

You can’t read too much into this stuff, and they are coming off a fantastic win that is right to make anyone feel positive. Harbaugh has brought on a little bit of a new philosophy, and seeing Frank Gore buying into it is encouraging to Gore fantasy football owners and 49ers fans. He will continue to have a vital role in that offense if healthy.
