Trashman’s Fantasy Fallout Going Into Week 7

Always Compete. #LOB #GoHawks

trashman-editHey RW Nation, I was traveling yesterday, so sorry for the delay. Here are my thoughts going forward into Week 7:

Bengals vs Patriots

  • Unload Jeremy Hill where you can. His schedule stays difficult throughout the season, and he’s losing more action to Bernard, as the Bengals fall behind.

  • Eifert is still injured, but he’s worth holding/adding in any format, as he’s arguably the 2nd best TE in the league when Reed is sitting.

  • White has usurped Blount as the top back in New England with Lewis out. He needs to be owned in all formats, and Lewis needs to be added where he’s available.

  • Edelman is an intriguing buy-low right now. He’s leading Pats WRs in targets, they just haven’t translated into fantasy points yet.

  • I’d still rather own Bennett than all but 5 top tier TEs on account of his upside.

Steelers vs Dolphins

  • Apparently having your meniscus removed doesn’t require a season or even month long absence. Big Ben will have a chance to return after their week 8 bye. Until then, Bell is the only sure thing on Pitt’s roster.

  • I’m holding Coates where I can. His week 6 goose egg probably left a sour taste in many a mouth, but he’s going to save a lot of seasons come playoff time, with Big Ben back under center.

  • Ajayi will likely be the top waiver add this week. I suppose he’s worth reaching for if you’re 3-3 or worse, but keep in mind that Foster is getting healthier and Ajayi is injury prone. He also has a difficult schedule for the ROS so you might consider selling high if you already own him and don’t particularly need him.

  • Parker was second on the team in targets with 7. He’s worth adding if he’s been dropped in your league and you need an upside play.

49ers vs Bills

  • Kapernick’s legs make him stream worthy in most matchups. He may be especially useful this week if Hyde can’t suit up due to his shoulder, though that’s doubtful right now.

  • As I predicted in the most recent Garbage Grab, Torrey Smith reenters the fantasy conversation when Keapo is under center. He’s worth adding if you need the help at WR.

  • Taylor is quietly returning to backend QB1 form. He needs to be owned.

  • Woods doesn’t have a high ceiling, but he’s going to retain decent value as teams start to sell out to stop McCoy. Clay is worth grabbing as well.

Eagles vs Redskins

  • The Philly backfield was a cloudy committee on Sunday, with Mathews getting only one more snap than Smallwood and Sproles leading the group. I’m staying away against Minnesota this week.

  • DGB is getting more and more action, playing over 80% of snaps in week 6. He could pass up Agholor as the no.2 in Philly very soon.

  • Garcon’s increasing target share can’t be ignored. He offers low ceiling, but he’s worth adding in PPR formats.

Browns vs Titans

  • Crowell has fallen back to earth, but I still have hope in him. With Kessler getting a better command of the offense, and Coleman scheduled to return soon, teams are going to have to respect the pass more. That being said, Duke is on the rise in Cleveland with a slate of respectable defenses ahead.

  • With no one taking the mantle in Tennessee, Wright picked up where he left off last season as the Titans’ go to WR. He’ll be up and down, but needs to be owned in PPRs and deeper leagues.

  • Mariota is starting to use his feet more and the Titans are benefitting from it. After a slow start, he’s back in the streaming conversation.

Ravens vs Giants

  • The Ravens backfield clearly belongs to West. Dixon is only a handcuff at this point, albeit a high-value one.

  • Everybody got in on the action in the Ravens’ passing game this week. So much so that it’s hard to tell who will retain value going forward, especially with Smith Sr. returning. It should be apparent at least that Perriman should be owned in dynasty leagues.

  • Darkwa seems to have been passed by Rainey as the no.2 in NY.

Panthers vs Saints

  • The Panthers are smart to let J-Stew take the goal line plunges in Cam’s stead in the concussion fallout. He’s going to flirt with RB1 status as long as he’s healthy.

  • Ted Ginn is worth streaming in plus matchups. He didn’t pop off much against the Saints on Sunday, but he has the upside to help win your week in high scoring games.

  • Yes, Snead is still worth starting. It didn’t show up on the stat sheet, but he was second in targets in week 6. Thomas didn’t get as many targets, but his value stems from his red-zone usage. Both are worth using on a weekly basis.

Jaguars vs Bears

  • I knew all this Yeldon “starter” talk was nonsense. Ivory is their best back and the best bet for TDs.

  • Bortles seems to be backing off of forcing the ball to Robinson in an effort to avoid turnovers. It’s not a good look for fantasy purposes. He’s a prime buy low candidate.

  • I’m not too scared of Carey’s carries. They were in relief of Howard, who is still the workhorse. He’s worth picking up if Howard is your best back for some reason, as a handcuff.

  • This Meredith kid is no joke. I don’t think he’s going to slow down either. If Royal can’t go this week, he’s in for a huge day again as Hoyer’s favorite target.

Rams vs Lions

  • Kenny Britt needs to be owned and started in most leagues. Keenum is finally putting it all together, and Britt is his go to. Quick is not far behind him, Austin is borderline-droppable at this point.

  • I don’t have high hopes for Zenner on the season, as the backfield gets healthy, but he could be the key to your week 7 as he faces the ‘Skins’ weak run defense.

  • Tate needs to be picked up if he’s somehow been dropped in your league, but Boldin deserves a long look too. He’s extremely TD dependent to this point, but he’s getting the targets to produce.

Chiefs vs Raiders

  • With two healthy, productive backs, and no pass catcher getting more than 4 targets, things don’t look good for Chiefs receivers. They’ll be hit or miss all season.

  • Ware should still offer standalone value with Charles back in the mix, though his value won’t be higher the rest of the season. If you’re looking to upgrade somewhere else, now is the time to move him.

  • The Raiders backfield was anemic against the Chiefs and doesn’t look to fare much better against the Jags. Washington does look to be their best bet right now though, but that’s not saying much.

Falcons vs Seahawks

  • After showing up big against two of the best defenses in the league in DEN and SEA, Matt Ryan is a ROS must start.

  • Freeman and Coleman were both stymied by the ‘Hawks, but don’t worry. This says less about the RBs and more about Seattle’s run defense.

  • Michael is doing all the right things to keep the job when Rawls returns. Rawls is most valuable to Rawls owners at this point.

  • Graham is the Hawks no.1 receiver. Expect inconsistency elsewhere.

Cowboys vs Packers

  • Dak for president. No, really.

  • Elliott is having a season for the ages. Morris is purely a handcuff, though perhaps the most valuable one in the league.

  • Beasley retains the most value of Cowboys WRs not named Dez when Bryant returns in week 8.

  • With Lacy unlikely to play on Thursday, Ty Montgomery is a must add this week. Knile Davis is unlikely to be up to speed by then.

Jets vs Cardinals

  • The Jets stink, but they have had a pretty tough schedule to this point. The passing game should get a some reprieve against Baltimore this week. The same cannot be said for the running game.

  • The Jets are doing everything they can to get Charone Peake heavily involved. He’s a speculative add for me in most formats.

  • The only thing salvaging Floyd’s fantasy value is his red-zone presence. Jaron Brown seems to have passed him on the target totem.

  1. I have Reed/gates as my TE’s. Vernon Davis is available on the waiver wire. Should I drop Reed (based on his uncertainty on his return)?

    1. can’t drop reed yet

  2. K Benjamin has a bye and I need a receiver, slim pickins: T. Lockett, K Wright, Quick, T Montgomery, R. Matthews. 1/2 ppr

    1. montgomery or wright

  3. Still need WR help. 12 team standard

I have Kelce and Henry at TE

Would you trade Henry for diggs, fuller, or Tate?

If tate is as high as he would go, would you do it?

    1. maybe for fuller, need to see more from tate

  4. What does ROS stand for?

    1. Rest of Season

    2. Post By Byron Lambert

      rest of season

  5. Can I drop Kerley for C Coleman or D Booker ?

    1. Post By Byron Lambert

      Yeah

  6. With lacy out for several weeks now, who is the primary pickup? Montgomery or Davis?

    1. Post By Byron Lambert

Davis if you need a player w/RB eligibility on your roster. Montgomery is a sneaky play at WR with the reps in the backfield.

  7. Would you drop Crowell for Duke Johnson? Only other two RBs are Murray & McCoy. Ivory also available. Could drop Hogan. Other WRs are A. Brown, A. Cooper, T. Williams, J. Matthews. PPR scoring.

    1. Post By Byron Lambert

No, but you should def own them both. Drop Hogan for Duke in PPR.

  8. Would you guys try to trade for a top tier WR if you have Marshall, Kelvin, Baldwin, Coates, and cooks as your WRs?

    1. Post By Byron Lambert

We’d consider it. Hopkins is a solid buy low w/ DEN on deck. But, this is not mandatory. Starting Marshall + Kelvin + Cooks / Baldwin every week is pretty filthy.

      1. you boyz made me this way!

  9. Mariota vs IND or Cousins @ DET this week? 6 pts passing TD. -4 for INTs.

    1. yikes- please wait for our QB rankings. Prob MM at home.

  10. Would you trade Meredith for Derrick Henry? I own Demarco. Thanks,

    1. Probably, if that’s the only deal we could get done. Stiff price to pay- but Henry is a critical own for DM owners, and we cannot stress that enough. Sometimes you gotta pay up a bit. Fact is you just got Meredith off waivers, there will be more like him. Also, hopefully this won’t leave you thin at WR

  11. It leaves me with Julio, A-Rob, Cooper, Pryor and Coates. 10 team Standard.

You guys are the best. Thank you!

    1. Oh god- tell em to start packaging the trophy.

  12. Post By cranium_project@yahoo.com

I only have 5 waiver pickups left (limit 10) and I’m struggling with should I drop T. Sharpe for K. Britt, or C. Meredith?

  13. How do we get more RW on the airwaves? You guys are hilarious and have the best data and material out there!

I am 2 and 4 with the 2nd most amount of points so it’s been one of those years. Injuries struck but thanks to RW I am making a comeback!

You have to contact management at Sirius XM Fantasy directly. (Matt Deutsch, Rob Touzet, Steve Cohen). We would love to be on more often. Many members of RW Nation have been doing so, and their voices are starting to be heard by the powers that be. Please let them know you want more RW.

Also- always feel free to tag @siriusxmfantasy on twitter with these requests. Emails to management are best, though.

Thank you so much for your support. We are extremely grateful

  14. Would you pick up Mike Davis for a start this week against TB. I would drop Chris Thompson. 12 team standard. Start 3 RB I have Crowell, Lacy, K Davis, Gore and Thompson.

    1. Post By Byron Lambert

Don’t know at this point. Might be worth a pick up and hold until you can decide. Thompson is drop-able if need be

  15. Please help pick 3 ppr. Tevin Coleman, Gino, devonta, Marvin jones, and Meredith Thanks in advanced2-4 trying to turn it around

  16. Have someone wanting to get rid of Antonio brown, don’t know why. Anyways what wouldn’t be a good offer with the chips I have.
RB: zeke, ingram, freeman, Coleman, Morris
WR: Marshall, cooks, Kelvin, Britt, Baldwin

not exactly sure if I should even bother putting in a offer for him.

  17. Trade Q. Would you trade mike evans for m Stafford. I have Palmer and mariota on my roster. WRs are aj green, Cobb, Meredith, and t Benjamin. Thanks. I am leaning against trade.

  18. Start Stafford or Rivers?Start Julius Thomas or Zach Miller. . Cameron Meredith or Willie Snead? 12 team standard

  19. You guys got me to a solid position so far this year. No I gotta re-draft next Tuesday; keep up to 3, then fill in 16 man roster. Any re-draft resources at RW?
