Trashman’s Garbage Grab: Week 2

Trashman’s Garbage Grab: Week 2

Trashman 750

It’s Week 2, and though your team probably hasn’t fallen apart at the seams yet, injuries are occurring and players are faltering. Here are a few lightly owned but potentially potent waiver wire gems that you can plug into your lineups this week:

Joe Flacco QB, Ravens: Flacco is about as unsexy a QB play as they come, but a lot of people don’t realize that the Ravens threw the ball more than any other team last season before he went down to injury. Against a Browns team that just let a rookie run roughshod over them, Flacco makes for a fine fantasy play this week.

Terrance West RB, Ravens: In that same game, I also like Terrance West’s chances of scoring against his former team. West got an almost even split with Forsett last week, and should the Ravens get to the goal line, he is likely to be the back toting the rock.

Jalen Richard RB, Raiders: There are already murmurings that Richard has supplanted Washington as Murray’s COP back, and while that seems drastic, it is already apparent that Richard is a playmaker, as seen by his 75 TD scamper against the Saints. And while there are no guarantees in football, Richard is going to get opportunities in this lackluster Raiders backfield. He’s someone worth owning if you’re lean at RB and looking for upside.

Davante Adams WR, Packers: Adams looks like he might finally “get it” and start making a consistent impact for the Pack after a solid 50 yds and a TD in week 1. If all 3 starting WRs are worth owning in Indy, there’s even less reason that all 3 shouldn’t be owned and started for Green Bay in reasonable matchups, like this one.

Jeremy Kerley WR, 49ers: Quick slot man Kerley is a perfect fit for Chip Kelly’s uptempo offense, and he proved it in week 1 where he led the team with 11 targets. It only added up to 7 catches for 61 yds, but in a ppr that’ll do nicely. The 49ers have a tough matchup with Carolina this week, but he Kerley might be their best bet through the air.

Cole Beasley WR, Cowboys: Another ppr special, Beasley got 12 targets in Dak Prescott’s first NFL game as his check down. Prescott already stated that he doesn’t plan on forcing the ball to Dez, so you can expect more of the same this week as Dak continues to settle in under center.

Nelson Agholor WR, Eagles: We at RosterWatch are relieved that Nasty Nelson is finally coming into his own with a QB who is willing to meet him downfield in Carson Wentz. A constant deep threat that game break open the game on any play, Agholor is a speedy no.2 WR who will give Chicago fits, much like Will Fuller did in week 1.

Brandon LaFell WR, Bengals: He’s going to be in the grab until he’s owned in more than a third of leagues.

Virgil Green TE, Broncos: A great matchup and a hobbled, if not sidelined, Demaryius Thomas, make Green a nice streaming option this week against the Colts. Look for him to score this week.

Kyle Rudolph TE, Vikings: Rudolph might actually be worth his weight for fantasy this year on the other end of Sam Bradford’s arm. Bradford has always liked going to his tight ends, and Rudolph is no exception. A primary red-zone target for the Vikes, Rudolph could see a lot of work against the Packers, who gave it up to Julius Thomas in week 1.

    I write to commiserate.
I joined 9 leagues ( other than my dynasties )
for some reason the gods gave me the same draft position for all put two of them.
    5th

I wound up with Gurley or Peterson in all 7 of these leagues ( one of those leagues I got Gurley AND Peterson, and I think I angered the gods by gloating about how stupid my co league mates were ) (not to their faces)
in 3 of those 7 – I was lucky enough to get Keenan allen too !

I am deflated as heck, I have never been more prepared.
I have these donkey league mates who showed up late to the draft ( one of them auto picked the 1st 3 rounds ) who have scored 121 points more than me so far and are 2-0

Is this just a game of luck ?
