Trashman’s Garbage Grab: Week 3

Trashman 750Week 3 is here, and people are getting sloppy, missing junky dumpster jewels left and right. Don’t get left out on these fantasy finds that are all owned in fewer than 30% of fantasy leagues. You can use them if you’ve been hit with the injury bug, or if you’re scrounging for value in daily leagues. Last week, the Grab was chalk-full of daily-league dumpster diamonds.

Jared Cook TE, Rams: Dallas is giving up 7 catches and almost 100 yds to opposing TEs this season, and Cook is the number 2 option in St. Louis for QB Austin Davis. There’s a perfect storm here for fantasy production.

Davante Adams WR, Packers: Little by little, we saw Adams sneak ahead of Jarrett Boykin for the third receiver position in Green Bay last week. I think he holds onto it and gets at least 5 grabs in what should be a shootout with Detroit.

Andre Roberts WR, Redskins: I always liked Roberts when he was in Arizona, and he’s getting more opportunities to turn it on without an injured DeSean Jackson. Even if Jackson manages to play this week, I like Roberts in a high-scoring matchup with Philly.

Alfred Blue RB, Texans: Blue managed 11 carries last week in a blowout against Oakland, and I think this week’s matchup with the Giants will be very similar. Arian Foster is getting a ton of carries, and you have to think they want to dial back on those with his risk of injury. Blue is next in line, not Jonathan Grimes.

Derek Carrier TE, 49ers: With Vernon Davis and Vance McDonald looking like no-gos this week, Carrier could have a big day out against a Cardinals defense who’s achilles heel has been TE coverage in recent years. If I was a Davis owner, Carrier would be in my lineup.

Aaron Dobson WR, Patriots: He had a quiet beginning to his season last week (2 targets and 1.3 fantasy points in standard leagues) but Dobson is the No. 2 receiver outside, and the Patriots are playing a woeful Raiders squad this week. He’s going to get his shots.

Lance Dunbar RB, Cowboys: If you’re familiar with the kind of damage DeMarco Murray does to the Rams on a regular basis, then you know there should be plenty of garbage time action for Dunbar who is getting more and more involved every week.

  1. Hello Trashman,

    Pick 2 please:
    1. Alshon Jeffery @ NYJ (horrible, allow WR’s 36ppg)
    2. Keenan Allen @ Buf (bad, allow WR’s 23ppg)
    3. TY Hilton @ Jax (average, allow WR’s 20ppg)
    4. Kelvin Benjamin vs. Pit (excellent, allow WR’s 15ppg)
    5. Terrance Williams @ StL. (bad, allow WR’s 22ppg)

The WR ppg allowed data is only the first 2 games this season.

    Thank you.

    Mike

    1. Mike-
I would roll with Jeffery and Allen this week. Good luck!

      1. Trashman, I agree, although any of the first 4 could produce. Thank you and best of luck Sunday!!

  2. Trashman – I have the Broncos D which isn’t doing much and is on bye next week – which of these Ds would you pick up to replace them for better performance the rest of the way?

-Texans, Falcons, Vikings, Redskins, Eagles, Titans, Browns, Bucs, Chargers, Cowboys, Jags, Lions,

    Thanks!

      1. Thanks, Trashman! Appreciate the feedback!

  3. Trashman, Good call on Adams. Grabbed him with waivers this week. For my Standard scoring league…

  4. 1/2 PT PPR…Terrance West or Kelvin Benjamin? Also, I have Clay as my TE. Think I should drop him for Cook or Carrier? Thanks

LAughing so hard at this Trashman bit on XM Fantasy. Keep rocking it. A Trashman cameo worth it for the Garbage Grab section.

  10. I need to fill my WR2 spot from this list of WR’s: Note: I have Antonio Brown as WR1
    Sammy Watkins
    Larry Fitzgerald
    Cordarrelle Patterson
    Anquan Boldin

I need to fill a Flex position also from the WR’s above along with:
    Khiry Robinson
    Shonn Green

    1. Patterson and Robinson in your flex. Good luck again!

  11. I forgot to mention in my previous question above that its a 10 team full point PPR league.

  12. In my second league, 10 team Full point PPR I need to start 3 of these 5 WR’s:

    Andre Johnson@NYG
    Emmanuel Snaders@SEA
    Golden Tate@GB
    Greg Jennings@NO
    James Jones@NE

    Thanks, Trashman

    1. Johnson, Tate, and Sanders. Good luck!

  13. Would you trade Gore and Patterson for Gordon and Ingram? My RBs are McCoy, Ball, Gore, and Jennings. WRs are Alshon, Roddy, Patterson, Cooks, Hunter, Terrance Williams, and Hawkins. I tried Gore and Hawkins for Gordon and Ingram, but this is the offer he countered with. Should I recounter, take this deal, or just try to do Gore for Gordon (which he originally said he would do)?

    1. xraytakr-

Please see my response in the other thread (although, you may be looking for Trashman’s opinion specifically here). NO- don’t do that trade. Go back to the 1 for 1 you had working! If he’s stuck on this deal- try Hunter or Roddy if push comes to shove NOT Patterson!

      1. Ok, sorry about the double post…wasn’t sure if it got lost in all the other questions. Thanks, I will see what he will do. I thought Ingram would be a slight upgrade over Ball or Jennings.

        1. xraytakr-

Oh no- Ball and Jennings are clear cut RB1s- Ingram is a hope and a prayer. Good thing you are part of RosterWatch Nation – we are lookin out for you 🙂 Best of luck this week

          1. Sounds good, thanks! Glad I’m part of RD Nation! Thanks, I will need it!

          2. RW, NOT RD

Team Name: Gordon is High on AJ Green Record 1-1
1 pt PPR, 1.5 pts every 10yds ru/rec, 1 pt every 10 rush attempts, 5 pt bonus at 100 yd
I typically start 3 WR and 2 RB but thought to sit AJ Green after getting a 0 last week. I decided to start Rainey in the Thursday game now Green is probable so I need to fill 4 slots out of these 6 players: Alfred Morris, Sproles, Demaryius Thomas, Percy Harvin, AJ Green, Matt Asiata
    RB- Rainey
    RB
    WR
    WR
    Flex

    1. TheBallerFormerlyKnownAs-

      Morris
      Green
      Harvin
      Sproles

      Good luck

  15. Team name: Fatbody’s Fan Base 0-2 .5 PPR 12 team
    QB: Romo, Cousins
RB: Gore, Morris, Charles, Hyde, Ingram
WR: Cobb, Garcon, Cooks, Colston, Wheaton
    TE: Rudolph
    K: Carpenter
    DEF: Texans

I have a trade question. I was offered Bryant, Gerhart, and Davis for Cobb, Morris, and Wheaton. What do you think of the deal?

    1. Knile Davis*

    2. Fatbody-

Although we always like getting the best player in the deal- in this case Dez Bryant- we wouldn’t do it. Losing Morris really weakens your RB corps, and moving Rudolph to your bench is a waste for you. You are just giving up too much here- it’s a great deal for the other guy. Good luck.

  16. So go RB in flex instead of sanu or Welker here’s my lineup
    QB wilson
    WR1 c Johnson
    WR2 R.White (didn’t play ) didn’t catch that
    WR3 sanu or Welker
    RB1 gore
    RB2 sproles or ridley
    TE Bennett
    Flex ???????

    1. My bad I left out TY hilton

    2. supercp81-

Assuming you mean you cannot remove White from your lineup at this point? We’d go Sanu at WR3, and Ridley at Flex – Sproles at RB2. Good luck

      1. OK thanks

  17. Would you recommend donnell or kelce for week three. And if you were to trade one who would be a an equivalent in wr or rb.
I have Crabtree, garcon, Hilton Sanu
And I have Peterson, Martin, Levon bell, ivory and turbin

  18. 2 questions: 10 team PPR

Pick 2: Eddie lacy, rashaad jennings, and Knile Davis

Would u start victor Cruz today over Kennan Allen?

    Thanks

  19. Wallace or garçon standard league

  20. 1 WR 1 Flex,

    K. Allen, Vereen, Bradshaw, Ivory, L. Miller, J. Jones, T. Williams

    Please Help 0-2

  21. .5ppr I’m down 33pts already. Need 1 RB, 1WR & 1 FLEX – Blue, Davis, West, G. Tate, DJAX, Allen or Fred? THANKS!

  22. Locker or Kaepernick?
    Paterson or Watkins?
    Tate, Sanders or James Jones?
    Thanks

  23. I have Steve Smith Sr in my Flex
    and Welker at my WR2.
I was thinking of RB West in my Flex and move Smith to WR2 and bench Welker.
    You thoughts

  24. Donald brown or t west standard league

  25. .5 PPR league flex spot

    C. Patterson
    K. Benjamin
    C. Ivory

  26. Should I drop Boldin for Bridgewater.
These are my WR’s in a 10 team PPR league
    Antonio Brown
    Cordarelle Patterson
    Sammy Watkins
    &
    Larry Fitzgerald
My starting QB is Kaepernick and Locker is my backup.
    Thanks

  27. Too Late, I pulled the trigger.
I dropped Boldin for Bridgewater before the cutoff. I beleive Bridgewater will start playing if not this week maybe next week. I could always trade either Locker or Kaepernick.
Hunter, Sanu, T. Williams, Hurns, Royal, Hester are all available. Boldin is not much better these any of these WR’s.
    My full team:
    QB-Kaepernick
    RB-Lacy,,RB-Lynch
    WR-A.Brown, WR-Patterson Flex-K. Robinson
    TE-Olsen, PK-Crosby, DEF-Bills
    Bench: QB’s Locker, Bridgewater, RB’s-S.Greene, J.Hill, J.Starks-ins for Lacy. WR’s-Fitzgerald, Watkins.
I’m riding with only one PK, TE and DEF until their bye week.
    Any thoughts

  28. .5 ppr 12 team league.
I was just offered cj spiller and Reggie bush for leveon bell. This seems to be bad for me. Am I missing something. I also have Adrian Peterson, Doug Martin, ivory and turbin.

  29. I need to add a RB to my team.
    McFaffen or Donald Brown?
or Tate, who’s also available. He’s expected back week 5 after their bye in week 4.

  30. 12 man PPR. I have Gio, Vereen, Ben Tate, Woodhead, Jeremy Hill, Turbin; Dez, Garcon, Roddy, Hartline, Jordan Mathews. Would it be a good Idea to offer Dez for Leveon Bell and Deandre Hopkins? I might be able to get MJD or Sankey off waivers.
