Trashman’s Garbage Grab: Week 7

All killer, no filler this week…I think. This is your Week 7 garbage grab:

Dorial Green-Beckham: No Mariota means Zach Mettenberger will be under center. It also means that DGB who hasn’t been with the first team all season has possibly developed a rapport with Mettenberger as part of our second team doctrine. DGB’s looks and snaps are increasing, and Atlanta can be thrown on. I like him this week.

Brian Hoyer QB, Texans: Hoyer has DeAndre Hopkins to throw to so that makes him a spot play on pretty much any given week. What’s good about Hoyer is that his floor is going to be higher than some comparable QBs who are streaming options this week.

Chris Hogan/Robert Woods WR, Bills: I had to include both of these guys as they’re starting against the sieve-like Jaguars, but i lean more to Hogan as he’s been getting considerable looks anyways. If Hogan is already scooped up, Woods makes for a desperation flex.

Nate Washington WR, Texans: I’ll put nasty Nate in the garbage grab at any opportunity I can, and the absence of Cecil Shorts III against the Dolphins is just the chance he needs to help ease your bye week blues.

Antonio Andrews RB, Titans: Andrews has a tough matchup against the Falcons this week, but while they are stingy on yardage the Falcons can be run on in the redzone. Andrews is for all intents and purposes the starter for Tennessee, and they could lean on him more this week with no Mariota around.

Danny Amendola WR, Patriots: Word is that Darrelle Revis is going to shadow Julian Edelman in their matchup this week, leaving Amendola and a Brandon LaFell who hasn’t played a snap this season to rack up targets. LaFell is probably already owned in your league, but chances are Amendola isn’t and I think he’s just as likely to do work.

Darren McFadden RB, Cowboys: Everyone is high on Christine Michael this week, but McFadden has a sure role as the pass catching back in Dallas, a position that has lead the Cowboys in receptions this season.

Charles Sims RB, Buccaneers: Sims has had RB2 value in PPRs this season where he’s been a silent beast. I don’t see the Bucs using him any less this week as he seems to compliment Doug Martin well in the backfield.

Eric Ebron TE, Lions: Ebron already scored a TD against Minnesota this year, and I give him a good shot to repeat this week as the Vikings have been tough on WRs but easy on TEs.

  1. Are these ranked by order of preference?

    1. No, i’d put Sims, Andrew, Hogan, and Washington at the top

  2. Would you drop Kendall Wright for any of these receivers?

    1. not in the long term. maybe DGB, but that’s yet to be seen.

  3. He needed sure things, but should have taken a wild flyer on Jeremy Ross. Though I think he would have gone with Chris Givens due to speed. But Flacco LOVES WR who will hit their depth. If a WR will just be where they are supposed to be Flacco will instantly trust them and throw to them. Ross does that and Flacco said he has a “natural connection with him” and where he said he “is getting more comfortable with Chris and where he will be and letting him go get it”.

In my best Trashman impersonation I would suggest Ross or Givens if you are desperate and need a Longshot miracle.

  4. Flex Question – Latavius Murray or TY Hilton? I have Devonta Freeeman & Gurley as RBs, and Julio & Brandon Marshall as WRs. John Brown, Diggs, and Snead are on the bench as well.

Also, should I drop Matt Jones to pick up Tevin Coleman? He was dropped this week and has cleared waivers.

    1. i’d go murray. nope, jones could be a big play this week and maybe into the future.

  5. According to the site rankings I’m surprised you guys would start Rudolph or Tamme over Reed in PPR?

Also who should start at the FLEX in my PPR league?

    Vereen vs. DAL or
    Ellington vs. BAL

    1. i personally like Reed most. yuck, i s’pose vereen.

  6. Trashman!!!! So i got Nasty Nate in my line up. Im not proud of how it happened, but it happened. And for that i thank you!!! All killer!!! I feel like i had a play date with Nasty Nate at the city dump and it didnt end til our moms called us to come inside and get ready for supper!!!!

    1. Nasty Nate to the rescue! I like him this week too if you need him.

  7. Who should I start at flex, Chris Johnson or Andre Ellington? David Johnson is also available on the waiver wire?

  8. Well done this week Trashman, well done.
