PRO Trashman’s Week 5 Flex Rankings: RB, WR, TE

Trashman HeaderOften times, there is nothing tougher (or more important) than deciding who your weekly flex-plays are. It can be a mind-numbing experience having to make cross-positional projections.

This season, our RosterWatch PRO community will have personal and exclusive access to our very own disgusting Trashman, who has carefully curated his personal weekly flex rankings in order to help you in gaining input about your roster decisions.

PLEASE Keep in mind, these are not our official RosterWatch Week 5 rankings, but we’ve learned over time to pay extra-special attention to what the Trashman might have up his filthy sleeve – and where he stacks up players against one another for the coming weekend’s slate cross-positionally.

Our OFFICIAL rankings page here on the site will continue to be updated through the day Saturday and Sunday morning as more information comes in and we become more comfortable with player slotting. In the meantime, have a look at how the Trashman sees Week 5’s Sunday and Monday slate shaking out – as his inputs to our formula are a key (albeit smelly and gross) component. (Based on .5 PPR scoring).

    Gentlemen,

You guys currently have Tyrell Williams ranked well above Will Fuller in a PPR. Are you not concerned that Janoris Jenkins will be shadowing Tyrell? or do you think he’ll be covering Benjamin? My thought was that Marcus Peters will be shadowing Hopkins in the HOU game, so Fuller would have a good chance for a great game.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

    P.S. Nice new picture, TM!

    1. Jenkins is probably going to cover Keenan Allen. Jenkins has covered outside and slot guys this year.

    2. Post By Byron Lambert

I hate Tyrell Williams, and would personally start Fuller.

  2. Would you trade Watson, Mixon, and Rudolph/Brate for Fournette and Olsen? I also have Jameis, Hunt, CJ, T Coleman, McGuire, and B Allen(who should become Gallman when waivers clear tomorrow). Half point PPR.

    1. Post By Byron Lambert

      Yes

      1. Ok, now he’s pushing for CJ instead of Mixon…..still do it?

Jets or Eagles defense this week

    1. Post By Byron Lambert

Close call, based on rankings – prob Eagles.

  4. I’ve always listened to the trashman, first time seeing a pic, I expected him to look more like a sex offender.
Better gpp play? Engram or ASJ?

    1. Post By Byron Lambert

God, if that photo doesn’t look like a mind with panhandling, and in appropriate touching on his mind- we’d hate to see the image in your mind.

Crazy close call – both made the DKs DFS Cheat Sheet this week. So, you should make lineups with both using HyperDFS! We project ASJ with a lower ownership %, so if you have to spit the hairs and go with only one, we’d prob lean that way in a big GPP

      1. Post By Byron Lambert

**man w/panhandling in mind, and inappropriate …..

        1. hahaha yeah you can tell he’s not allowed within 100 feet of elementary schools, when will the draft cheat sheet drop today?

            never mind, I found it!

        2. He looks like this homeless guy on my street. The hobo doesn’t wear a wig like the trashman though.

How do you envision these two matchups? Hilton vs. SF or Mixon vs. Buffalo.

Both defenses did relatively poorly against the respective position groups last week, but I still have reservations about Mixon’s inability to create much of anything with so much volume. But at the same time, Hilton’s 7-catch performance two weeks ago looks to be the exception rather than the norm with Brisett at QB.

I’ve had Hilton slotted to start all week, but I’m considering flipping to Mixon despite my concerns. Thoughts?

    1. Post By Byron Lambert

Love the matchup for Hilton, don’t terribly love it for Mixon. Yes, Mixon’s touches are mouthwatering, his snap counts were not. I like him if you have to play him this week. But, with an option like Hilton at home in a good matchup, I’d kick myself if I benched him for Mixon waiting on the breakout and it still didn’t happen. The Hilton play is based on more sound logic, than a hope or an inkling- especially in PPR.

  6. This is going to be an ugly week . . . I’m starting Martavis over Rawls and Montgomery, but I don’t like it. I hope that you’ve cleaned up the cabana after Alex’s birthday bash . . .

    1. Post By Byron Lambert

Rawls feels very trashy, yet very sneaky this week. Sound logic probably makes Martavis the safer bet, esp in ppr. I’d be very concerned starting in GB RB this week.

  7. Jordan Howard. Ellington. Or Jaron Brown PPR

    1. Post By Byron Lambert

Rankings will say Howard, who will likely be just fine vs the tough matchup. The gutsy play-that we could sign off on is Ellington. If you’re feeling it, and have onions- we like it- and we’ve got your back.

If you strictly want to go by the rankings and make a rock solid play- go with Howard.

      1. I got onions

  8. Trade question: I’m being offered T.Y. for D Martin. Half point PPR.

    I have: J Howard, McCaffrey, M Gordon, J Stewart, D Martin, K Allen, T Hill, D Jackson, C Davis, and M Lee.

    He has: D Murray, M Lynch, T Coleman, L Murray, D Johnson, A Brown, B Cooks, T.Y., D Parker, and T Williams.

I like my team, but wondering if I should take this.

    Thanks!

    1. Post By Byron Lambert

I’d keep Martin, for sure. If he wants to do it for McCaffrey- go for it! Otherwise, move on.

  9. Trying to figure out 2 RBs for week 5. choice between Cohen, Buck Allen, Gallman, McGuire , A Collins or Lacy. the last 3 are available on waivers. It seems that the rankings and flex value all of these differently e.g. McGuire 79 Highest flex of those listed whereas rankings have McGuire near the best of those listed.

How about picking two for me? thanks

    1. Post By Byron Lambert

      I like Cohen and McGuire

  11. Do i trade d Thomas for d Adams standard scoring

    1. Post By Byron Lambert

typically don’t like those trades, but yes we would do it if we got Adams

  12. Who do you like better at flex in a ppr: Cohen or Jeffrey?

    1. Post By Byron Lambert

      Cohen

      1. Cohen it is sir!

  13. I got Dougie M, should I trade for Mixon or seek out higher? Re pic, just saw that guy at the Herald Square subway station.

    1. Post By Byron Lambert

haha- go higher – or keep! Or get Mixon plus somebody else good.

  14. Hey guys,

Definitely need some help here. my league is non-ppr, and very limited roster size. Unfortunately with the Montgomery injury, and Devonta Freeman on a bye, I need an RB to play this week. My options are Aaron Jones or Jamaal Williams (I added Jones, and Williams is still on the waiver wire). Should I roll with Jones, or now that Williams is said to be good to go for Sunday, will he be the guy for GB this weekend?

    Thank you!

    1. side note: Also available on waivers are Elijah McGuire or Corey Clement (with Wendell Smallwood out, maybe he would be a better play?)

    2. Post By Byron Lambert

      We would roll with Jones.

  15. Got an offer of Z Ertz for Bilal Powell. Have Ajayi, Cohen, Crowell, Gio, A Jones & Perine as my other RB’s.

    1. Post By Byron Lambert

close call- go with whoever gives you the best chance to win this week.

  16. Post By bkirkb@mac.com

Would you roll w/Buck or Jaron Brown this week?

Trashman looks like he has on a really bad disguise for getting close to that school.

    1. Post By bkirkb@mac.com

Guess I could have just checked the rankings.

  17. Post By Longhornfireman

Start Newton or Big Ben this week, 3rd alternative pick up Dalton and start him. Suggestions?

    1. Post By Byron Lambert

Please check our QB rankings for our position on this

  18. Was offered j cook and j mixon for e engram and t coleman , thoughts?

    1. Post By Byron Lambert

hate those kind of trades- we’d want the Engram / Coleman side.

      1. Thanks for the response, I was leaning the same way, thought the upside and consistency of coleman was better than mixons pure upside(with a shaky at best front 5)

  19. Cohen, Mckinnon, Gallman, Funchess, Marshall. Need a RB+flex?

Kupp, Maclin, Jamaal Williams, Moncrief. Need 1

    Mixon or Ellington?

    All PPR

Mariota (if he plays) or Rivers?

  20. Off to a slow start in one of my leagues(1-3). My RBs are D. Murray, Mixon, Martin, A. Jones, Foreman, McGuire, Breida, McFadden. I played Martin on Thursday. Would you consider using Jones over Murray or Mixon this week?
    Thanks

    1. I wouldn’t do it. i guess there’s an argument for jones over murray in a full pt ppr.

Trashman, Now that Davante Adams has been cleared to play, where would he rank on your Flex list?
