RWi Week 12: Last Minute TE and DEF Pickups

Week 12: Last Minute TE and DEF Pickups
Byron Lambert, Rosterwatch.com

If you are looking for some last minute fill-ins for the armpit of your roster, don’t be deceived. These players are sort of like deodorant.

Tight End:

Brandon Myers (@ CIN), TE Oakland Raiders

He is the #7 fantasy tight end on the season. Right behind Vernon Davis. Unbelievable. Pick him up. Myers got 10 more targets and 11 fantasy points in Week 11. He also plays the most offensive snaps of all Raiders players at 93%.

Jermichael Finley (@ NYG), TE Green Bay Packers

He has been so bad this season you may find him on your waiver wire. He has been dropped by a lot of owners recently, only to finally have a nice game in Week 11. He’s got a juicy matchup this week as the Giants are the 3rd best matchup for fantasy tight ends on the season.

Dallas Clark (vs ATL), TE Tampa Bay
Clark is becoming much more involved in what is turning out to be a prolific Bucs offense. Trust in Josh Freeman’s arm. I think he could be a very solid play the rest of the way, so pick him up now. 11 targets for 58 yards and a touchdown in Week 11, Clark was on the field over 60% of time. He has a great TE matchup (#5) against the Falcons this week.

Tony Moeaki (vs DEN), TE Kansas City Chiefs
Back to back 7 point games. Moeaki seems to be regaining his pre-injury form. Before we get too excited we need to see the Chiefs offense regain some form. Still, you could do much worse as Moeaki faces the #2 fantasy tight end matchup in the Broncos this week. He is a good play.

Dwayne Allen (vs BUF), TE Indianapolis Colts
He’s having a lot of 5-7 point games. This is useful tight end production. I never hate buying stock in Andrew Luck at home against the Bills. I can see a touchdown in this one.

Broncos Tight Ends (@ KC)

Peyton Manning’s face should be on the dollar bill. I never mind taking a flyer on one of his guys. Joel Dreessen sees the most playing time. He is the guy I favor, but Jacob Tamme outscores him sometimes. Either is a solid desperation play.

Defenses:

Cincinnati (vs OAK)

You have to love any decent defense at home against the Raiders. I bet Carson Palmer’s former team cooks something nasty up.

Arizona (vs STL)
Coming off of 5 Matt Ryan interceptions this aggressive defense is hot. Now they head home to play the Rams in what figures to be a hard fought game. The Jets defense put up double digit points at St. Louis last week. I like the Cardinals even more.

Miami (vs SEA)

The Dolphins defense has been streaky. I like them off of a bye at home against a Seattle team that literally has to travel the furthest distance possible while losing three hours.
