*****As a reminder, we always recommend using the Cheat Sheet in conjunction with the Vegas Tool once it is published Saturday evenings as Vegas almost always identifies a few value plays who aren’t necessarily on the sheet, but may provide excellent flexibility cap-wise. Sometimes we will update the sheet through the weekend as information comes in from injury reports, Vegas or elsewhere*****

HOW DOES THE SHEET WORK?

THE GOAL of the sheet is to reduce the number of players for the weekly slate to players expected to generate Positive Surplus Value (fantasy points over salary expected points). The player pool is narrowed down to players who meet a minimum number of trends.

THE TRENDS are a series of pass/fail threshold tests of position-specific stats predictors. Through the use of predictive models, we have analyzed every predictive metric we could for each position related to Vegas Indicators, Unit Matchups, Individual Matchups, Historical Performance, Game Script, Weather, and so much more.

Using a non-linear model, we’ve found BASELINES for each metric. For each baseline TREND TEST, if the player passed, he receives a [+1]. For example, using the Matchup Tool Rankings vs. QBs, the model found that an Opponent Ranking ranked in the bottom (9) teams allow on average +3.7 surplus points to opposing QBs. If the QB’s matchup is ranked worse than the baseline, the QB receives [+1] trend. In addition to positive trends, negative trends are also included. The model found that the top ranked pass defenses vs. QBs allow on average -5.4 surplus points.

THE ORDER is determined first by position Salary Tiers, then by Total Trends. The salary tiers are colored by BLUE (High-Priced), RED (Mid-Range), PURPLE (Higher-Risk Bargains).

HOW TO USE THE SHEET

Choose the players from the sheet you like best. Mix-and-match them to create your personal, optimal lineup. It’s that simple.

Take note of projected ownership percentages when putting your team together. In 50/50, Double-Up and head-to-head contests, there is nothing wrong with rostering players who project as popular choices across the board. However, in larger field tournaments, it is always wise to differentiate from the public with a few lower-percentage plays and/or stacks.

The Vegas Tool will be out before the main slate occurs.

5-7 Probably wont make the playoffs but would love to be the reason someone else wont make it

We start 2 RB, 2WR & 2 Flex. I already started Perine and was going to start Hunt in the other spot. I have Sanu and D. Jax in at WR. I need 2 flex spots.

    D. Thomas, Shepard, M. Jones, C. Coleman, D. Murray, Drake, Burkhead

Rank these TEs for this week Roudolph, Seals-Jones, Walker, Thomas, Cook, Kroft

    1. always fight to the finish. We like Demaryius and probably Burkhead out of that bunch with consideration to Drake and Shepard. The TE is Walker or Cook, slight lean to Walker but both are in great spots, GL.

  2. Forgive me for my ignorance but I’m trying to understand “Tournament Strategy” regarding week 13 fanduel cheat sheet. If someone could explain this process to me I’d appreciate it a bunch.

    Thanks

    1. That could be a book in itself, but generally, you’ll want to add in some of the players that the sheet has as lesser-owned. I think Week 13 is a week where people will want to pay down at RB and QB and pay up at WR so you can also make a differentiated lineup by paying up at RB for some of the higher-priced options on the sheet, GL.

    1 PPR….josh gordon, Corey Coleman, Watkins,demaryius Thomas? Need 1

    1. Really like Demaryius this week; want to take a bit of a wait and see on Gordon unless we don’t have any better options- in which case we feel great getting him in and hoping for the best.

  4. Thank you for all your help this season. First time customer and will continue on. First place in one league and I need a win this week in 2nd league. Win and I’m in.

Flex question – Need to play 2 in full PPR. Hyde, Evans, Marvin Jones, Lynch

Question 2 – sat Dak, need to start Winston or Gabbert?

    Thank you so much.

    1. Thank you sir, we appreciate your support. Definitely Evans and I think you have to go Hyde over Lynch although I’m coming more and more around to Lynch this week. I’d go with Jameis over Gabbert. GL to you.

  5. Rest of season… Danny Woodhead or pick up Aaron jones

    1. Prob AJones

  6. Wentz or Rivers? Keep Aaron Jones and jamal Williams duo and drop Sterling Shepard if I’m good at WR otherwise?

    1. Go with our rankings on the QB. If you’re not going to play Shepard – that’s fine.

    1. We like they way you think. That’s maniacal.

      I’d roll Drake and Burkhead.

      Please check our TE rankings.

  8. Choose one 0.5 ppr: Dede, J.Gordon, C.Davis or D.Parker?

    1. Davis or Parker

    1 pt ppr need 2
    Mixon
    Ingram
    Hunt
    Hyde

    1. Hyde + Ingram

  10. .5 PPR. All sorts of mixed feelings about my roster. This week is a must win for me.
WRs – Mike Evans, Larry Fitz, Cooper Kup (Tyreek Hill on the bench)
RBs – Carlos Hyde and Jamaal Williams (Burkhead and Kareem Hunt on the bench)

    Would you make any changes?

    1. We and the industry rankings have Hill over Fitz. But, that’s close enough, that you know your team best- and if you like Fitz roll with him. Check the matchups. Def get Evans and Kupp in.

Def in on Hyde this week. I’m not quite as bullish on Williams as everyone else. Let’s see what happens with Jones. Burkhead and Hunt are solid options. In a must win- I’m probably breaking close ties with my studs. Keep an eye on our rankings.

  11. Bulkhead, Mixon, Jamal Williams? Standard.

    1. Jeez- prob JWill. Maybe, Burkhead

  12. RW,

I had put this in TD dependency thread but just saw your tweet:

Just wondering what your vibe is on this. E. Sanders was dropped and is on the wire. I’d have to drop Corey Davis to grab him. Currently between Davis and Duke for my flex. Should I grab Sanders and Davis and use him and start Sanders over Duke in the flex? Or should I just hold tight and and play Duke or Davis (I sat Dez….). My starting RB are Freeman and McKinnon and WR are Evans, Dez, Hill, Crowder, and the Anaconda. PPR.

Also, any thoughts on Mike Davis? Could drop James Connor for him as a flyer as well.

    Thank you!

    KC

    1. I’d prob drop Davis for Sanders. Look at the schedules. We feel good about Duke this week.

Yeah, if we didn’t own Bell- we’d drop Connor for whoever we wanted.

      1. Cool. Thanks again!

  13. Thanks guys for staying up late tonight – I’m struggling with the Mixon vrs Drake decision in PPR league – playing for 1st place. Any offer of clarity before I turn to Trashman’s flex rankings? Also, do any of the Oakland wr’s have any value PPR this weekend against the Giants? Thanks again.

    1. Let’s wait to see what Vegas says, but I think we’re leaning Drake. Keep an eye on our rankings, as well. Very curious about Vegas props tomorrow, though.

  14. Thanks as always from a 3-year pro member – looking forward to the show tomorrow.

    1. Thx a ton for your support DJ. Best wishes to you and yours this Holiday Season!

    Ppr, help.

    Kroft, Fiedorwichz or Brate.

Also, is Boswell a bad play this week?

    1. Prob Kroft

  16. Tried getting this question answered a couple of days ago on one of the other pages…maybe it isn’t an appropriate discussion board question? I know you guys are busy and I appreciate the help.

In a half point PPR. Would you drop K. Benjamin or Corey Davis for Rishard Matthews? I also have the Titans D/ST going this week with Seattle on my bench thinking I might keep them for playoff matchups.

    Thanks!

    1. Yeah, probably. RM is an unsexy but consistently very solid play. Tough call on which guy to drop. Kelvin appears a stash at the moment, not sure how viable stashes are. However, if he were uninjured, we’d have prob said to drop Davis. Depends on how you feel about having 2 Titans WR.

        There went my dinner…lol

  17. PPR dynasty. we start 2qb 3rb 3wr 1 flex K and def. and 10 bench spots. we keep our entire starting lineup. (11)
now i have ,brady, keenam, carr, bell-hunt-mixon-hyde-mckinnon-rod smith-mike davis, hopkins, cooks, robbie anderson-crabtree-crowder-doctson-dede westbrook and ODB. i got offered keenan allen for ODB straight up. of course this is a dynasty league so i am not sure if i want to do it BUT my we schedule for all my wrs except crowder and crabtree are aweful and keenan plays the cheifs in week 15. our playoffs are week 15 and 16. i am already in the playoffs and this team is OUT. i always try to think about next season but i still want to win now and is keenan allan that much of a dropoff from odb? thoughts?

  18. This makes some sense, esp with Odell’s dynasty future a little bit unclear due to his QB situation. That said Rivers isn’t getting any younger. This is a close enough call, we don’t have a huge problem with it either way.

IMHO- you have an unbelievable roster as is, and if you make the right plays you don’t really need Allen. He’d be a luxury, and it’s not guaranteed he’ll go bananas and win you the ‘ship. It’s kind of like Yoda telling a Jedi, that he already has everything he needs – just to look inside himself, and the expert quality moves will flow with intuition.

I tend to think the best strategy is most likely keeping ODB in dynasty, and making the correct plays down the stretch with the players you already have. However, if you’re feeling this Keenan move- we love him- and it would be a very reasonably deal. Would never blame you for being all in on a win this year. Your dynasty squad will still look plenty good, either way.

    Best wishes.

  19. Need some help with a WR flex issue — must start three – here are choices — M Thomas, D Westbrook, S Roberts, D Parker, J Gordon, or C Coleman — Later three are available on waivers. I am assuming Roberts will be #1 Receiver on Raiders. I’m hoping Dede has his breakout game against this weak Indy D.

I started Jamison Crowder on Thursday and he slightly disappointed. My opponent started Kirk Cousins, so I don’t feel too bad, but I’m down by 6 in a PPR.

Now I’m left with having to pick ONE of the guys below in my flex, since I plan to start Leveon Bell, Jordan Howard and Davante Adams:

    Kareem Hunt
    Kenyan Drake
    Dion Lewis
    Doug Baldwin
    Demaryious Thomas

    Thoughts?

  21. Ppr dynasty. I am out of the playoffs and trading for next season. What are your thoughts on Kenyon Drake as a keeper? We keep 11 players and I am rb needy.

    1. Post By Kwillee@hotmail.com

Hard to answer that without a little more info…

      1. start 2qb 3 rb 3wr 2 flex 1 TE 1def PPR we keep our entire starting lineup. and have 10 bench spots.. 8 team league

        winston,carr
        gurley,drake-doug martin-jamal williams-mike davis-chris carson-duke johnson and drake
mike thomas-doug baldwin-robbie anderson-golden tate-will fuller-sterling shephard. just trying to trade for draft picks and i picked up chris carson to speculate for next season.

  22. BUCKNASTY 6-6

Been struggling all year at TE with a piece of garbage in Jordan Reed. It’s win and you’re in and my only question:

    Pick 1 TE standard league

    Austin Nefarious Jenkins
    Ricky Seals-Jones
    Julius Thomas
or go grab Olsen in FA

Thanks for all your help guys!
