Trashman’s Garbage Grab: Week 6

Last week was one for the Garbage Grab history books, as fantasy dumpster fire after dumpster fire was stoked by almost every trashy pick. I can only hope to keep up the trend in week 6 with this bevy of cheap fantasy labor…

Jay Cutler QB, Bears: Listen, I resent Cutler just as much as the next guy, but his cakey matchup with the Lions and the potential return of Alshon Jeffery make him a no brainer start this week.

Crockett Gillmore TE, Ravens: Gillmore can’t make his return at a better time, with Smith Sr. questionable and Justin Forsett coming off an injury. The Ravens are in dire need of playmakers, and Gillmore is the imposing target that Joe Flacco could be looking for, play after play.

Chris Thompson RB, Redskins: Going up against a tough Jets front this week, Thompson may be Washington’s best option on the ground. More effective in PPR, Thompson offers considerable value at the flex in week 6.

Dwayne Harris WR, Giants: EVen if Odell Beckham Jr. suits up, there’s no guarantee that he is much more than a decoy against the Eagles. Harris has been serviceable in recent weeks, and this game should prove no exception.

Josh Huff WR, Eagles: No Nelson Agholor and the tastiest of WR matchups in the Giants makes for a nice opportunity for Huff to improve on his 78 yd, 1 TD game in week 5.

Denard Robinson RB, Jaguars: Toby Gerhart has gotten most of the reps at RB for the Jags this week, but Robinson is the better play, should T.J. Yeldon sit this week with a groin injury. We’ve seen what Gerhart can’t do well, and it’s almost everything.

Justin Hunter WR, Titans: Hunter got as many targets(6) in week 5 as he’d had all season to that point. A RW favorite last season, who only fell extremely short of our expectations, Hunter is still a talented WR who the Titans believe in. Wisenhunt gave him a vote of confidence after last week’s game and is looking for him to improve on it in week 6. That makes two of us.

Ladarius Green TE, Chargers: Green’s considerable role in the offense should remain in week 6 as Stevie Johnson is unlikely to play, and the Chargers are going to have to put up a lot of offense to stay in the game versus the Packers in Lambeau.

Antonio Andrews RB, Titans: Andrews has been the Titan’s best back, and hopefully Tennessee’s staff is sharp enough to see that they’re much better off with the ball in his hands. He’s still unowned in too many leagues, and that’s why he’s in the grab again.

  1. 6 pts per passing TDs. Would you start Sam Bradford or Philip Rivers this week? Your rankings give the slight advantage to Rivers. Although, the matchup tool shows Bradford with the better matchup. In addition, both games have a high over/under.

    1. I give the edge to Bradford.

      1. well the Stefon Diggs call was awesome

  2. I can’t decide which two guys to start in my must win PPR league!

    Ellington @ Steelers
    Abdullah vs. Bears
    Crowell vs. Broncos

Site rankings say Ellington and Abdullah but Trashman’s rankings say Crowell and Abdullah!?

    1. crowell came up questionable today. ellington might be the play.

      1. Oops looks like you guys actually ranked Ellington and Crowell over Abdullah on the site so really Crowell seemed like the better play until the questionable toe injury… But also Andrews is available vs. MIA so out of those four, who should I start? Pick 2, PPR: Andrews, Ellington, Abdullah, Crowell?

        1. well the rankings are a composite of three different sets of rankings, so they don’t necessarily reflect each individuals thoughts. I’d go with abdullah.

  3. Very desperate and looking for help. Please pick 2 Ppr: Antonio brown, Blount, John brown, and Gio Bernard. Just hard with Big Ben out.

  4. Need help. 0.5 PPR. Pick 2 Flex:

    J. Matthews vs. NYG
    R. Mathews vs. NYG
    CJ2K vs. PIT
    Blount vs. IND
    Woodhead vs. GB

  5. Who should I start 1 pts ppr qb and 1 rb:
    Palmer/Bortles
    Carlos Hyde/Rawls/Duke Johnson/Hillman

    1. palmer, don’t trust bortles’ shoulder and Hyde

  6. 6 pts per rushing and receiving TDs. Need to flex one of the following players: Justin Forsett, Shane Vereen, Allen Hurns, or Steve Smith Sr.

    1. forsett, unless he sits, then hurns

  7. Bortles or Wilson standard 10 team

    1. Sorry 12 team 6pts for all tds

    2. wilson. bortles’ shoulder and heavy winds scare me.

  8. Alright guys i am facing shane vereen up 5 points going into monday. Dwayne Harris or Josh Huff? Need this win to be .500 again!! Thanks alot!!!!!

    1. 1 ppr

  9. Down by 23 in ppr. U think I start jordan Mathews or take a shot at odb jr. If he is cleared to play?

  10. Guys – Up 3 points with ability to play either OBJ or Harris. They have Eagles D.

Would you roll with OBJ and risk a re-injury or go with a healthy Harris? Thanks.

  11. Very trashy picks this week by the trashman. I expect better. Seriously.
