Trashman’s Garbage Grab: Week 8

My picks bounced back in a major way last week, with multiple players going from the gutter to the gala for fantasy owners. Hopefully I picked some more belles of the ball this week for ya. It is Halloween though, so they’re not for the squeamish this week. Here’s your Garbage Grab for week 8:

Ryan Fitzpatrick QB, Jets: Fitzpatrick has multiple TD games in 5 of 6 starts this year, and he’s coming off his two best games of the season against stout defenses. He has a much cushier matchup this week against the Raiders, and though the Jets sometimes play down to their competition, I think Fitzpatrick has another 20+ pointer in him this week.

Orleans Darkwa, RB Giants: Yeah, we have a Peyton Manning arm equivalent sample size to work from regarding Darkwa, but he looked like the best back in NY last week, and it’s likely that he’ll get any goal line attempts that arise for the Giants.

Reggie Bush RB, 49ers: Bush will be the starter in a tough matchup with the Rams, and while Bush has nothing to show for his time in San Fran this year, he’s going to get volume and he has the ability to break away on occasion. He’s worth a flex.

Crockett Gillmore TE, Ravens: Gillmore is coming in as arguably the no.2 target behind Steve Smith Sr. and his broken back. The Ravens are terrible right now, but Gillmore makes for a high upside, low floor play in a good matchup with the Chargers.

Justin Hunter WR, Titans: It seems like most prognosticators, myself included, have been talking up Dorial Green-Beckham, but it’s Hunter who has been steadily rising in targets and snap counts. If Harry Douglas sits this week, Hunter will be the WR2 in Tennessee that will have an inaccurate but strong armed Zach Mettenberger under center.

Nate Washington WR, Texans: Nasty Nate strikes again! He’s still largely unowned, and he’s still not competing with Cecil Shorts. Play him.

Donteea Dye WR, Buccaneers: I don’t even know how to say his first name, but Dye is going to be a starting wideout with no Jackson, Murphy, or Seferian-Jenkins around against the high-flying Falcons. He’s going to get targets.

Robert Turbin RB, Browns: This is a stretch, but Turbin led the Browns in rushing last week, and he’s an able pass catcher. I think the Browns are going to give him a chance to claim the starting job.

  1. 12 team full point ppr league. 6 pts per receiving touchdown. Need to start 2 of the following 4 WRs for this week.

    Brandon Marshall
    AJ Green
    Steve Smith Sr
    Stefan Diggs

  2. I am a Bell owner. Full ppr my rbs are: Jeremy Hill, Gio Bernard, and Matt Jones. Do i blast my fab budget on Deangelo Williams?

Alfred Morris and David Cobb are all that is available. We can start 4 running backs but the 1ppr makes it better if we start 4 wrs. Thanks guys!!!!

  3. What u think Jonathan Stewart’s chances of scoring 15-20 in ppr tonight?

    1. i’d give him a 50-50 chance. really depends on if he scores a td, which is hard to predict as cam is just as likely to run it in if they’re close.

  4. trade away Devonta Freeman for Drew Brees in return?
