RosterWatch Week 8 Waiver Wire Cheat Sheet Now Available

Byron BylineBuilding a championship-caliber fantasy roster requires basic weekly waiver-wire management. We’ve created the Waiver Wire Cheat Sheet so that in a just a few minutes a week, our users can make the same expert waiver maneuvers we personally make in our own leagues, throughout the season.

PODCAST —- PRO MEMBERS CAN FIND THE WAIVER WIRE PODCAST HERE IN THE PODCAST SECTION AS SOON AS IT GETS POSTED (usually around 4:00pm central on Tuesdays in-season. You can also find it on Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, or anywhere podcasts are found. You can also simply watch it below on YouTube. Listen to the podcast as a supplement to the sheet as you’re setting waiver claims for additional insight, the pod does not give the exact order and/or tiers of the sheet so do not consider it a substitute for using the sheet.

Whether you play in a standard waiver-claim format, or in a free-agent bidding system – we’ve got you covered. Read the chart top to bottom, and use it like the Draft Cheat Sheet. It’s not mandatory to go after the very top pick up every single week – use some basic discretion. Insane value can be cultivated through the bottom of the Waiver Wire Cheat Sheet over the course of the season.

All players listed on the WWCS are currently on the waiver wire in at least 50% of fantasy leagues across all major formats.

*Our advice is to recycle an average of 1-2 players per week from the bottom of your roster into hot waiver-wire pickups for the current week. This can be accomplished via waivers, or on the cheap as free-agent pickups post-waiver period .

  1. Do I drop Jimmy G to get Aiyuk? Other QB is Goff.

    1. if those are your two QBs, then you’re not married to either. I’d go with the better matchup this week which is Jimmy G and YES, almost always drop backup QBs for hot waiver pickups.

  2. Post By Chris vertucci

offered miles sanders and dj chark for todd gurly. full point ppr 6 point td. only need to start one rb and have zeke and j mixon.

    1. Post By Alan Seslowsky

Be careful as Sanders is coming back soon. The team did NOT put him on IR. That said Gurley has been better than expected and durable (fingers crossed, no jinx)

  3. Alex, Byron and/or Trashman –

Definitely need help determining whose worth bidding on tonight in my DYNASTY league. Guys like Anthony Miller and Irv Thomas got dropped so they are in the mix so who would you add and who to drop for them? I will follow the FAAB budgets recommendations on the cheat sheet but not sure how Dynasty factors in on priority. I’m thinking my most droppable guys are Patterson, JJ Taylor, and maybe Rudolph?

      Hey Renourka:

I know you specifically wanted the boys to weigh in but I will give you some feedback while you wait for them.

First off as far as bid amounts; Byron says it all the time, you need to adjust the bid amounts to the flavor of your league. I’m in one league where the teams are very aggressive on the WW. Another where teams like to conserve their money. In dynasty, I think it is wise to get more aggressive since you keep these players forever and rosters are deeper so you have less opportunity to acquire good players.

The 3 players you should focus on for a rebuild are

      DPJ, H. Bryant, and Everett

The Browns have consistently talked up DPJ and especially Bryant. Both of those guys will likely be fantasy starters by next season, if not the season after. In my zero dollar bidding article I cover DPJ this week. Should be out in a day or so.

Everett is going to be involved this year while Higbee is dinged up, and he is a FA next year. Some team is likely to pay Everett and he will have value next year.

Higgins is a nice pick up ad trade right away target. I was able to p/u Higgins in a dynasty league and trade him for a rookie 2021 2nd rounder to the ODB team.

      Hope this helps.

      Good luck!

  4. Would you drop Deebo for Mims or Reagor? I have a claim in for aiyuk right now so if that goes through, does that change your mind?

    1. Post By Alan Seslowsky

Im seeing a lot of “can I drop Deebo questions.” I think yes. Here is why

Let’s say he is out 2 weeks with Hamstring. Then you cant play him when he gets back bc you likely need a “show me” game. Let’s say that the first game back is 2 catches for 35 yards. Then you cant play him again the following week. It is a headache and you are missing out on speculating with waiver wire lotto tickets. You can make a league message asking if anyone wants Deebo, but if not you can cut bait.

  5. Post By jasongarritty@yahoo.ca

I have Goff and Minshew right now and I’m looking to be prepared for Goffs bye week. I can hold Minshew and play him or probably grab Carr of waivers. If you choose Carr would you start him this week too?

    Thanks!

    1. Post By Alan Seslowsky

I like how you are looking ahead. That is a smart fantasy football strategy.

Be careful with Minshew as the drum beat is starting to get louder for a benching. Carr is the better player to roster. You can def play him vs Cleveland this week if you like.

  6. Sterling Shepard wasn’t discussed on the podcast, do you not think he’s worth a pickup?

    1. Post By Alan Seslowsky

Though he has a tough matchup this week vs TB DST, he is absolutely worth a pickup. You can play him in a pinch too. SS looks like a solid floor player every week.

  7. Post By Chelo Méndez

    12 team, 0.5PPR, 4-3

    RB1: Kamara
    RB2:
    WR1: Hill
    WR2:
    FLEX:

    RBs: RoJo, Fournette, Dobbins
    WRs: Aiyuk, Hollywood Brown

Which 3 do I start? Thanks!

    1. Post By Alan Seslowsky

Nice options Chelo, I like how you built this team. I would suggest going with

Fournette (over rojo bc of the pass catching)

Aiyuk and HWB. If news breaks Mark Ingram is out you can play JKD and bench HWB. All of this is close but that is how I would set it if it were my team.

      1. Great, thanks Alan! I also have Hopkins and Edmonds on BYE + Goedert on IR, things are looking great!

  8. Post By BluntTrauma 57

    Chase claypool or Brandon auiyuk

    1. Post By Alan Seslowsky

2 players that are headed in opposite directions. Do not drop Claypool, but this week you have to feel better about Aiyuk with the Deebo injury. Claypool is unprojectable with Dionte back.

  9. Hey fellas, apologies for the humblebrag but I’m chasing a title in a league I’ve been in for 14 years- Tradecast Q:

Team name-Vontae Mack NMW. I’m 7-0 with crazy depth due to the cheat sheet/Tradecast. I’m considering chasing Kittle with an offer of Gibson or CEH (his owner is smoked at RB). Don’t need to flex an RB since I’ve got Lockett/Allen/Thielen. Currently streaming TE due to the Dallas meltdown.

My RB depth is Sanders/CEH/Gibson/Lindsay/D Harris. Hubris to chase Kittle, or go for it?

    1. Post By Alan Seslowsky

Hans this is the place to do humble brags. They are highly encouraged. I’d be careful giving up that RB depth. As you can see here today gone tomorrow is our depth. Kittle is a prem player but if you can grind that WW for guys like Richard Rodgers, Irv Smith and Albert O that might solve your issue enough and you get to keep that valuable depth. Good luck!

  10. Post By Robert Braswell

Hey bros keep up the great work…Cam killing me …getting an offer for Will fuller hes offering me Lamar and trying to get him to add Gibson…it would leave me thin at wr though 12 team 1pt ppr
    Cam
    Ridley
    Mike Evans
    Jon taylor
    Johnu smith
    James Robinson
    Cam Akers
    Z.Moss
    LAC Backfield
Gio Bernard and Getting CMC back…would you trade Fuller for Lamar

  11. Post By Alan Seslowsky

    Robert:

Its a fair trade but is there another QB you can pickup for free on waivers? I’d rather you hold Fuller and plug and play Teddy, Baker, Carr etc…

    1. Post By Robert Braswell

I picked up Carr …do u think Cam is a hold or drop Baker still available

      1. Post By Alan Seslowsky

I’d drop Cam. He may have a big game here and there, but no projectable floor. They do not have much invested in him. An in-game benching is always in play. Baker heating up.

  12. Post By Robert Braswell

The trade discussion started because he owns Chubb….hes not opposed to trading him…Lamars remaining Schedule is incredible looking at my roster what would you be willing to give up for either guy? Hes down on Lamar because he owns Herbert was trying to strike before Hebert starts doing Rookie Stuff LOL

    1. Post By Robert Braswell

Was also able to get Reagor…and Corey Davis available too

  13. I need some help to figure out what to do now
    Team ******’s 4-3
    Herbert & Tannahil
    CEH Kamara Taylor Dobbins
Hopkins Jefferson Hollywood Claypool Lamb AB (sspd)
    Richards Goedert (IR)
    Colts
    Tucker

I traded Gibson Chark & Rodgers to get Kamara (likely overpaid but I’m fine with it)

Do I try to trade for Bell, but who do I offer in exchange? I offered Lamb for Murray and haven’t heard back.
Chubb is on waivers but I’ve already used my IR slot and he won’t start until week 10. Should I drop Lamb for him?

Thank you in advance for your help

    1. I dropped Lamb and picked up Chubb
I’m set for the next two weeks and Chubb has the higher upside

  14. I’ve got Allen and Hebert in both my leagues. What kind of trade could I get for Allen? I’ve got CEH, Carson, RoJo, David Johnson and Leveon. My WRs are Julio, Fuller, Jefferson, Higgins and JuJu. I’m trying to send Allen and Fuller for Hopkins. His only other guy I like is Zeke. If the Hopkins trade doesn’t work what would you offer for Zeke? I totally understand Zeke’s value isn’t what it was a few weeks ago.

    1. In my PPR i LOVE my team. Would you consider sending Allen and Hockenson for Kelce? Again, I’d be starting Herbert rest of season.

      1. Post By Byron Lambert

        Keenan? Prob not

        1. Sorry, josh Allen and Herbert are my QBs in both leagues. I’ve offered Allen and Fuller for Hopkins in standard scoring. I also offered Allen and Hockenson for Kelce in a PPR.

  15. Post By CBrown@aplusconst.com

10 team .5 ppr would you trade James Robinson for Tyler Lockett? I have DJ Moore, Ridley, Kupp, Tee Higgens and Ruggs at WR. I have Kamara, Mixon Robinson, Eckler and Boston Scott at RB

    Thank You

    1. Post By Byron Lambert

Yes, if I needed a WR

  16. I have a guy who wants Jonnu Smith. I have Engram as well. I need RB. He has Justin Jackson, Fournette, Coleman. He also has Aaron Jones/J. Williams and P Lindsey. Who should I ask for? I have a Ekeler on IR.

    1. Post By Robert Braswell

Shoot for the moon and tell him Jones…whats the worst he could say

    2. Post By Byron Lambert

You should send him Engram for Fournette. You can’t trade Jonnu for any of those guys.

  17. Post By woo.jonathanwoo

How good are we feeling about Scotty Miller with Chris Godwin already ruled out? .5 PPR, I really like his boom potential a week ahead of Antonio Brown coming online.

Already feeling out contingencies if ARob sits out.

    1. Post By Byron Lambert

Pretty good! I’m playing him this week! Fingers crossed!

  18. Dynasty 12 team Super flex guy just offered up either Lamar Jackson or deshaun Watson for trade he wants a starting rb and draft pick for next year. My qbs- Russell Wilson and kyler Murray. My rbs j. Conner, C . Carson, Ronald Jones, Fournette, Hyde, Gus Edwards, Phillip Lindsey. I’m wondering if I just stay put or do I offer Conner and a pick? For one of his QBs and maybe then trade Wilson since he’s older for a new a RB? Iam brand new to dynasty and don’t really kno what picks are worth. Thanks sorry for the long question

    1. Post By Alan Seslowsky

It sounds like you have nice QBs, I know the trade is appealing but doesn’t make a whole lot of sense for your team (right now) things change but I’d hold

  19. (ppr) I was previously green lighted to drop moss for Jk dobbins. I’m just wondering if that’s still true as moss did outplay Singletary Sunday?
    Current team is
    Wentz
    Wrs: juju, hill, Parker, shenault
Rb : mixon, eckler, d Montgomery, Gibson, moss, Harris, swift, cam akers
    Te : jonu Smith

Also, what’s going on with Akers?

    1. Post By Byron Lambert

Very close call- I would drop Akers for either

  20. Tough bye week for me. I need an RB to fill in: I have Mattison, so if Cook doesn’t play I feel ok there.

I can pick up Carlos Hyde or Dallas if Hyde doesn’t play. I can also pick up Gus Edwards, Moss or Gallman.

    Carr or Bridgewater ?
    Thanks

    1. Post By Byron Lambert

      Teddy + Hyde

  21. Yo, Zeke owners like me, who are we targeting in trades in trying to get something for Zeke? Are we all that worried, any chance he turns it around, or are we just getting what we can? Are we just moving down a tier to get something or his the pass catching value in Zeke still going to be there?

    1. Like would Swift be fair? D Montgomery?

      1. Post By Byron Lambert

        Tradecast will be up tomorrow!

  22. What do we think of Michael Thomas ROS? Does he come back and return to WR1 form? Or would you try and ship him out and what type of WR would you look for in return? Metcalf, Keenan Allen, a AJ Brown/Herbert package ( I have Tua as my only QB).

I’m 5-2 and have Tyreek,Golladay and Higgins but don’t want to end up with a 0 from him

    1. Post By Alan Seslowsky

If you can get 80 cents on the dollar for MT, I’d do it. He is FAR from a lock to give you top 10 production.

  23. Post By woo.jonathanwoo

I’d like to grab Hasty, and I already have McKinnon. Who do y’all think is most droppable? Trades in my league would take 48-hours to process.

Joshua Kelley (I’m an Ekeler owner)
    Drake
    McKissic (I’m a Gibson owner)

    1. Post By Alan Seslowsky

What is the purpose of that 48 hour rule? That si kind of nuts. It is what it is,

I don’t see the need to hold Drake. Even when he is back healthy its likely to be Edmonds in a heavy timeshare. The only “buyer beware” I offer is that last year when Chase Edmonds was the lead guy, he got hurt pretty quickly, and then it was the Drake breakout. If you are goosey about that, then drop JDM.

      1. Post By woo.jonathanwoo

Agreed the 48-hour rule is nuts. Trying to get that changed for next season. Frankly, there just aren’t that many trades in my league.

        Thanks for the words.

  24. I need 2 WR’s and a flex
Higgins, Diontae Johnson, Gordon, Slayton, Golladay, Fulgham.
Need A TE as well. Cook, Bryant, Ebron or Hurst.
    Thank you

    1. Post By Alan Seslowsky

Can’t bench Fulgham at this point. Have to ride his targets and production. If he fails you so be it. He is solidly in the top 20. I’d go with Golladay but a few of those guys are very good starts, no hate if you chose one of them

TE Question Jared Cook feels like the safest, and Bryant the upside guy with no floor. Hurst is caught in the middle. I’m going Cook but its TE, nothing is certain.

  25. I may have to post this on another thread later but here is a trade question.

    10 Team .5 PPR QB, 2WR, 2RB, TE, FLEX
    I have
    QB: Rodgers/Allen
    RB: Cook/Jones/Jacobs/Lindsay/Hyde
    WR: Golladay/Julio/Fuller/Slayton
    TE: Jonnu/Engram/Goedert

Have been offered Zeke/Kittle for Julio/Jacobs/Goedert. My gut says no because I am worried about Zeke but it would fix tight end for me.

    Thoughts?

    1. Post By Alan Seslowsky

Trust your gut, Im with you, that in a week or two you will realize you were VERY right to not do this deal.

  26. Two QB Dynasty League, 2 flex positions.

    Current
QB’s: Tannehill, Big Ben, Dak (all other Dallas QB’s)
WR: Hopkins, Thomas, Theilen, A.J. Green, OBJ

    Trade offered: OBJ for Stafford.

I traded my 2021 and 2022 first round picks for Hopkins earlier in the year, so receiver is pretty set for me and Big Ben is aging so Stafford would offer more QB depth for the future. Team I am trading is loaded with draft picks so any counter offers possibilities would be appreciated too.

    1. I’m fine with that deal, but would see if you can get a pick as well. Maybe an extra 2021 2nd, it will come in hand.y

  27. I need 2 of these WR in standard league :
    Aiyuk
    Ruggs
    AJ Green
    Scotty Miller
    Rashard Higgins

    Teddy or Derrik Carr?

    Thanks!

    1. Aiyuk and AJG for me.

  28. Would you start Matt Ryan or Bridgewater tonight?

    1. I have this decision right now and I”m starting Ryan but I don’t love it; we have them ranked back to back.
