RosterWatch Week 2 Matchup Tool Now Available
Welcome back.
This is a proprietary weekly tool provided by RosterWatch for our PRO community.
It is designed to be a decision-making tool for gauging the defensive opponents your fantasy players face. If you are new to this, our time-tested and most popular flagship in-season tool, the instructions for use couldn’t be simpler, and can be found below.
DO NOT RELY ON “FANTASY POINTS AGAINST” as your primary indicator for player matchups ever again. It is a flawed metric, as you’ll see, which will cause you heartache and struggle.
The rankings represented here are derived via a proprietary algorithm which takes into account not only traditional “fantasy points against” metrics (schedule-adjusted after 3 weeks of play), but also (and most importantly) weighted averages and medians of separate individual player and defensive-unit scouting grades for members of the 2022 unit that will be run-stopping, pass-rushing, or covering against the position in question, along with other analytic trends including projected game-script, game-flow/pace, sportsbook indicators, volume of total projected snaps and much, much, more.
…
INSTRUCTIONS:
To use the tool, think about your fantasy player.
Let’s say you roster Raiders WR Davante Adams, and would like to see how he matches up against the defense he faces this week.
First, look down the list and find the Raiders (Adams’ team). You will see that the Raiders’ opponent (OPP) is the Arizon Cardinals in Week 1, and there are four color-coded cells in the horizontal columns marked “OPP vs. QBs,” “OPP vs. RBs,” “OPP vs. WRs” and “OPP vs. TEs.”
These are the OPPONENT’S (in this case the CARDINALS’) OFFICIAL ROSTERWATCH MATCHUP RANKINGS AGAINST THESE GIVEN POSITIONS.
They are not the rankings for the RAIDERS, but rather, for the OPPONENT THEY FACE IN THIS GIVEN WEEK (the CARDINALS). In the “OPP vs. WRs” cell for the Raiders, you’ll notice a big, blue ‘No. 1’. This means that Adams faces our best possible matchup for opposing WRs in Week 1 (the Cardinals). This is a great indicator for fantasy managers of Adams – as well as Vegas receivers like Hunter Renfrow, and is a positive one for those thinking of rostering them in DFS contests.
Repeat the same process for other players on your roster as you are trying to decide which players to start and which to sit in season-long leagues. Also use it to identify which upside-plays to roster in DFS contests based on matchup.
With the launch of the online tool, you can now sort by any column: Vegas line, over/under, and matchup ranks vs. each position for easy reference. The Vegas lines are updated hourly for your reference and research. Please note that matchup ratings can change slightly through the week as lines and totals shift, or as injuries to key defensive personnel occur.
1 is the best (easiest) matchup, 32 is the worst (toughest).

RW Nation, need some clarity. 10 TM PPR 1 QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex
QB: Carr
RBs: Kamara, Fournette, D Montgomery, Dobbins, Robinson, Burkhead
WRs: Chase, Mike Williams, E. Moore, JuJu, London, C Samuel
TE: Andrews
Someone dropped Keenan Allen. I am considering dropping Burkhead who I just picked up to try and pick up Allen. What percent of FAAB left would you use? should I stay away since I have Williams already or try to pick him up and then attempt to use him or Williams as a trade piece later on. How much is too much to spend on the injured Allen? or am I just seeing a shiny toy but it a broken old model that I shouldnt fight over. Thank you
It still makes sense to try and add him if you can. He was a top 15 WR last season. So bid, just don’t break your bank. I’d say no higher than 30%
Is trade report today or tomorrow?
Ppr. Lamb or Aj Dillion, melv Gordon,Michael Thomas,
I’d go Dillon
Thanks
Full PPR
Someone dropped Pollard would you use a #2 waiver to pick him up. Here are my RB’s
Najee, Swift, Edmonds, Pierce, M Carter, J Cook, K Herbert and Warrern.
I’m pretty deep at RB..
I don’t know that you need him, but he could get a bump with the passing game being in shambles. I’d use a #2, it’s early in the season.
Alex, Byron, and/or Trashman –
Need some advice on this dynasty squad I’ve been rebuilding for like 3 years now:
10 team PPR Dynasty (Year 4)
1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 2 FLEX, 1 TE (20 Bench)
QB: Lance (Tannehill, Mayfield, Winston)
RB: Hall, Etienne ( J. Robinson, J. Wilson, Gainwell, E. Benjamin, D’Ernest Johnson, Z. White, Ty Chandler, Vaughn)
WR: AJ Brown, DJ Moore (Chark, Boyd, Palmer, V. Jefferson, N. Collins, Dotson, D. Carter, R. James, Dortch, Mims, Crowder)
FLEX: E. Moore, Mooney
TE: Henry (Fant, Trautman)
IR: T. Patrick
2023 picks: two 1sts, 2nd, 3rd, 4th TBD
1) I think I need one or two more studs to make me competitive so who would you target and which pieces would you offer?
2) I got offered Tolbert and Brevin Jordan for my Eno Benjamin… accept or counter? He’s got: Barkly, Swift, Henderson, D. Harris, Akers, Juju, Diggs, J. Meyers, Shenault, Edwards, Lazard, C Watson, Z Jones, Philips, Goedert, L Thomas, Jonnu…
1. You could target any Cowboys skill player, Kyle Pitts, Cam Akers… someone with upside who’s underperformed so far. You could offer some combo of Wilson, Palmer, Chark or Dotson
2. i wouldn’t accept that trade. You always want to try to get the best player in the trade. Maybe eno and one of the players I listed above for Harris, Akers or JuJu

Need to drop one player to get defense.
Who do you drop:
Mostart, J Wilson, R White or Gainwell?
Thanks for your input.
Mostert
boys
should i do this trade, deebo and kareem hunt for javante williams and brandon aiyuk
my rb’s are zeke, aj dillon, k hunt, steneson, k walker and i have mitchell parked in IR and i just picked up davis price rb from sf
my wr’s are chase, deebo, dotson, bateman and mooney
thanks as always
Lone Wolf 0-1
No, I could swing it if Williams had the backfield to himself, but that’s not the case. I prefer the upside of hunt and deebo on a given week than williams and aiyuk.
As a general rule is the cheat sheet taken into full account when you do your rankings? Choosing between Carr and Cousins who you have back-to back, but Carr has the #1 matchup. Just a general question. Thanks!
We use a lot of info to put the rankings together, so in short, no. Matchup plays a part for sure, but it’s not necessarily the guiding factor.

Do you prefer holding Zamir white or throwing a dart at Jordan mason? Or a dart at Taysom? (My TE is Everett, but could start both if they both pan out)
if it’s a dynasty I hold him. Otherwise, I’m noncommittal. I lean toward Hill over Mason though.
10 team PPR 1) Rhamondre and Gainwell on bench, drop either for Jeff Wilson or Burkhead. 2) A Rogders and T Lance at QB, hang with them or look for someone on waivers someone just cut Brady, would he be an upgrade for either QB?
I could drop Gainwell for either. Brady seems more consistent than Rodgers based off of Week 1. I always like QBs who can run though, so I’d hold onto Lance.

Start mike Williams or Courtland Sutton
I think you have to use Williams against KC with no Allen
10 Team PPR Keeper league, start 1 QB, 2 RBs, 3 WR, 1 TE and 1 Flex. I need to drop 4 of these guys for a legal roster ahead of tonight’s game. Who would you drop?
