Trashman’s Garbage Grab: Week 8

It’s week 8 and the pickens are slim as ever with the litany of injuries throughout the league. That being said, these guys should serve as solid streaming options for those who aren’t faint of heart…

Running Back

Emari Demarcado, Cardinals – 34 % rostered

Demarcado isn’t even a poor man’s James Conner, but he did get 18 touches in a losing effort to Seattle. There’s no guarantee he gets similar touches this week, but even the specter of close to 20 touches for any back makes him a valid option.

Devin Singletary, Texans – 20% rostered

Singletary got one fewer touch(12) than Dameon Pierce(13) in WK7, and he also got touches in the red-zone. Pierce hasn’t been terribly effective as the starter this season, and it’s likely that Singletary gets to mix in more, especially in a matchup with the Panthers, our 2nd best matchup for RBs this week.

Wide Receivers

Jayden Reed, Packers – 17% rostered

Reed scored his 3rd TD of the season in WK7, a nice precursor to a WK8 matchup against Minnesota, the best matchup the Packers WR corps has had this season. It also doesn’t hurt that TE Luke Musgrave is unlikely to suit up, potentially opening up more targets for Reed.

Demario Douglas, Patriots – 2% rostered

Douglas is a speedster who got 6 targets in WK7 on the way to a 4 catch 54 yard game, his best of the season. The Pats play Miami in WK8, and they’ll need all the firepower they can muster to keep up with Miami’s relentless aerial attack.

Jauan Jennings, 49ers – 2% rostered

Jennings had a season high 9 targets in WK7 with Deebo Samuel out with a shoulder injury. He could get similar opportunities this week against a middling Bengals unit.

Tight End

Trey McBride, Cardinals – 17% rostered

McBride was one of the best TE prospects we’ve seen at the Senior Bowl, and he’s starting to make moves in the pros. He was already starting to play as many snaps as Zach Ertz before Ertz went to IR this week, and though he has a tough matchup versus Baltimore this week, McBride has the athletic ability to produce a solid fantasy line if he continues to get consistent targets.

Quarterback

Gardner Minshew, Colts – 16% rostered

Minshew managed a 3 TD monster against a top 5 Browns defense last week, mostly due to the arsenal of offensive weapons at his disposal and his quick feet. His opponent this week, the Saints, aren’t pushovers, but they aren’t as good as the Browns. Minshew should do enough to make it worth your while on Sunday.
