Trashman’s Week 2 Garbage Grab

Trashman’s Garbage Grab: Week 1

It’s Week 2, and we are already in need of waiver wire warriors to replace our wounded. Such is fantasy life. We traffic in trash…

Running Back

Alexander Mattison, Raiders – 35% rostered

Mattison was better than and had a healthy timeshare with Zamir White in week 1. The Raider will need all the firepower they can handle to keep up with the Ravens this week, so giving Mattison his due should be part of the gameplan.

Tank Bigsby, Jaguars – 29% rostered

Bigsby handled the ball 12 times in WK1 behind Travis Etienne in a close game with Miami. The Jaguars have an easier matchup with Cleveland this week, so Bigsby could be in line for a similar workload. The Jags want to keep Etienne fresh, so implementing Bigbsy where possible seems integral.

Justice Hill, Ravens – 16% rostered

Hill had 8 targets in WK1 against a formidable KC defense, for 52 yards receiving. Playing against a much less adept Raiders team this week, Hill could see more garbage time work, in addition to a regular complement of targets.

Wide Receivers

Demarcus Robinson, Rams – 33% rostered

Robinson will fill in as the no.2 WR for the Rams, with Puka Nacua sidelined. He had some decent games as the no.3 in 2023, so we know he can produce in this role. Nacua left after the 2nd quarter last week, and Robinson had 7 targets on the night, so those looks are likely to increase.

Wan’Dale Robinson, Giants – 17% rostered

Robinson had 12 targets in WK1, and he’ll be going against a Commanders secondary that’s the worst in the league. He’s a solid start in PPR formats.

Jailen Nailor, Vikings – 25% rostered

Nailor will run as the no.2 WR for a Vikings squad that played well in WK1. Yes, the 49ers will be a tougher opponent than the Giants, but San Fran can be thrown on. Nailor will get at least a handful of targets opposite a Justin Jefferson who will undoubtedly get extra coverage.

Tight End

Foster Moreau, Saints – 3% rostered

Moreau caught all 4 of his targets for 43 yards and a score in WK1 against Carolina. He had a concussion scare, but he’s fine to play against a Dallas team that bends to TEs. With Josh Ferguson doubtful, Moreau is the best bet for TE production in this matchup on either side.

Quarterback

Justin Fields, Steelers – 17% rostered

Fields managed 57 yards on the ground in WK1. If he had managed to score a TD in that game, he’d have had a worthwhile fantasy day. Going against a softer defense in the Broncos than they faced against Atlanta in week 1, Fields stands a better chance at finding the endzone.
