Trashman’s Week 5 Garbage Grab

Trashman’s Garbage Grab: Week 5

Surprisingly, you can find some decent options on the wire this week. Let’s just hope they deliver the goods. Here’s the grab…

Running Back

Cam Akers, Texans – 28% rostered

I hate Akers as an option, but with Joe Mixon out and Dameon Pierce questionable, he may be in line to lead the Texans backfield against the top matchup for opposing RBs right now, the Bills.

Tyrone Tracy Jr., Giants – 15% rostered

Tracy will start this week, as Devin Singletary will sit with a groin injury. Eric Gray will be in the mix as well, but Tracy stands to get the lion’s share of touches against Seattle.

Wide Receivers

Tutu Atwell, Rams – 17% rostered

Atwell led the Rams in receiving last week, while Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua convalesced. Jordan Whittington had more targets, but Atwell is the more dynamic player. Whittington is fine for PPR usage, while Atwell is more of an upside play.

Tre Tucker, Raiders – 18% rostered

Tucker was here last week, but he’s a starter and he’s only owned in 18% of leagues. Davante Adams has probably played his last down as a Raider, so you should buy stock in Tucker while he’s cheap.

Xavier Legette, Panthers – 30% rostered

Legette’s situation is much like Tucker’s, but may be more short lived. Adam Thielen will return to the Panther’s eventually, but for now Legette is the no.2 behind Diontae Johnson, who is going to get shadowed by shutdown corner Jaylon Johnson this week.

Tight End

Tyler Conklin, Jets – 29% rostered

Conklin is averaging 7 targets over his last 2 contests, and he’s in line to keep up the pace against a Vikings team that stifles the run, but bends to the pass. He’s not a lock, but in today’s TE market he’s as good a play as virtually anyone.

Quarterback

Joe Flacco, Colts – 4% rostered

This only applies if Anthony Richardson sits, but Flacco is a solid start if he does. Last week, Flacco threw for 2 TDs in relief of Richardson, who left the game with an oblique injury. The Colts play the no.1 matchup for opposing QBs, the Jaguars, this week, so whoever ends up starting is worth a streamer.
