Trashman’s Fantasy Fallout Heading Into Week 10
Trashman’s Fantasy Fallout Going Into Week 10 of the 2024 NFL Season
Fantasy football is a game, and it ain’t easy, but we’re doing our best to steer you right, bit by bit. Here’s the fallout going into Week 10 of the NFL season…
Texans – 13 @ Jets – 21
- Robert Woods(2/44) was the only Texans player besides Tank Dell and Dalton Schultz to catch a pass on Thursday. That was in part due to CJ Stroud’s off night, but Woods could see significant targets if Nico Collins returns this week. Even if Collins returns, Woods could play an every down role as the 3rd WR, now that Stefon Diggs is out.
- Rookie WR Malachi Corley didn’t do anything to help his cause Thursday, flipping the ball through the back of the endzone on what would have been a TD run that ended up a touchback. Corley is still only a hold in dynasty formats.
Patriots – 17 @ Titans – 20
- Demario Douglas(7/35) led the Pats in targets(9) and tied with Hunter Henry(7/56) for receptions(7). The Pats have a murderer’s row of tough secondaries coming up, so I wouldn’t expect a lot from this offense, passing wise. That being said Douglas and Henry are suitable PPR plays.
- Nick Westbrook-Ikhine(5/50/1) has scored in 4 straight games, yet is owned in only 1% of leagues. In the absence of DeAndre Hopkins, his role has increased significantly, and having Mason Rudolph under center is a boon.
Commanders – 27 @ Giants – 22
- Chris Rodriguez(11/52) was Washington’s leading rusher in the absence of Brian Robinson. Austin Ekeler(14/83/1) had the better day, on account of a TD and his receiving prowess. Robinson was questionable most of last week before not suiting up, so he’ll probably play this week, but Rodriguez could be a shrewd stash, as Robinson has now been out twice this season.
- Noah Brown(5/60) has surpassed 55 yards and had 6 or more receptions in 3 of his last 4 games. He’s the de facto no.2 WR in Washington.
- Theo Johnson(3/51/1)has caught at least 3 balls in 4 of his last 5 games. He’s far from a lock this week, but with the Giants going up against the Panthers, the no.1 matchup for opposing TEs, Johnson makes for an intriguing streamer.
Chargers – 27 @ Browns – 10
- Quentin Johnston(4/118/1) clearly benefited from LA’s invigorated passing attack in his first game back from an ankle injury. Available in 85% of leagues, Johnston will be a hot pickup going into a difficult matchup with Tennessee this week.
- Joshua Palmer(2/63/1) has been sneakily productive in PPR, going over 63 yards in his last 3 games, but he doesn’t seem to have the upside necessary to get him into lineups.
- Cedric Tiilman(6/75/1) keeps rolling, leading the team in receiving yet again, in a tough matchup no less. Owned in 58% of leagues, he’s a must add in all formats, even going into his bye.
Raiders – 24 @ Bengals – 41
- Desmond Ridder(11/74/1) took over for an underwhelming Gardner Minshew in the 3rd quarter, contributing to the Raider’s only passing TD in the game. In what’s amounting to a lost season, Ridder could get some run moving forward in an effort to see what they have in him.
- Alexander Mattison(9/36) got vultured by Zamir White(6/10/1) for a TD, and with a 9,6,4 carry split including Ameer Abdullah(7/26), there isn’t much of a silver line for fantasy. They have a bye this week, so at least you can’t put it off for a week.
- Mike Gesicki(5/100/2) is feasting in the absence of Tee Higgins(quad), leading the team in receiving in WK9. It’s a short week for the Bengals, so there’s a good chance Higgins will sit this one out too. Gesicki needs to be in lineups on Thursday night, if that’s the case.
Saints – 22 @ Panthers – 23
- A loss to the league’s worst team to cap a 7 seven slide after starting 2-0 was enough to get HC Dennis Allen fired Monday morning. Special teams coach Darren Rizzi is expected to become the interim coach. Maybe we get a dead cat bounce this week against Atlanta…
- Taysom Hill(9/60/1) had his 2nd best line of the season with a diminished receiving corps. Chris Olave got concussed and may not make it back in time for this week’s game, so Hill could be a strong play for a 2nd straight week.
- Ja’Tavion Sanders(4/87) led the Panthers in receiving. The rookie has had at least 5 catches and 49 yards in 3 of his last 4 games and should make for a decent streamer on most weeks. This week is not one of them, as the Giants cover TEs very well.
- Xavier Legette(5/39/1) led Carolina in targets(6), while Jalen Coker(2/36) led Panthers WRs in receiving yards(Legette had a 6 yard run). Both players will likely see their roles grow, with Diontae Johnson moving on to the Ravens. They will live and die by Bryce Young’s arm though.
Dolphins – 27 @ Bills – 30
- Jonnu Smith(5/46) and Jaylen Waddle(2/-4/1) seem to be vying for targets, and the addition of Odell Beckham(3/15) to the mix won’t help either of them. Smith can survive with these numbers but Waddle is struggling. I think he’s an excellent buy low though, just based on his upside when this offense is clicking.
- Ray Davis’(6/90/1) made most of his day on a 63 yard catch and run TD scamper. He’s a drain to James Cook’s(15/69) value more so than he is a standalone play at this point, but he’s well worth owning.
- Dalton Kincaid(4/32) led the Bills in targets(10) yesterday with Amari Cooper(wrist) being a late addition to the injury list. Cooper seemed close to playing, for what it’s worth. Kincaid was averaging about 6.5 targets coming in, so he’s getting looks, but they’re not high yield targets. Mack Hollins had a 5/30/1 line, but I can’t advocate adding him to any lineups.
Broncos – 10 @ Ravens – 41
- The Broncos couldn’t get much out of anyone other than Courtland Sutton(7/122) and Javonte Williams(14/84) on Sunday. Audric Estime(5/35) and Jaleel McLaughlin(8/20) split carries behind Williams, with McLaughlin soaking up 3 targets too. Williams is still the clear lead back in this equation.
- Justice Hill(8/58) has had decent lines in 2 of his last 3 games, but all might be for naught, as Keaton Mitchell is nearing his return. It’s hard to imagine either back getting much run behind Derrick Henry, while he’s healthy, but it makes sense to add Mitchell in deeper leagues, as he’s clearly a talented back.
Cowboys – 21 @ Falcons – 27
- Dak Prescott(18/133/1) is likely to miss a few games with a hamstring, with Cooper Kupp(13/115/1) looking like he’s next up. I’d rather see what Dallas has in Trey Lance, but they’ve never been ahead of the curve in that department. Pass catchers other than Jake Ferguson and CeeDee Lamb can be forgotten for the time being. That is, unless Lamb(shoulder) can’t make it back this week. Jalen Tolbert(3/19/1) would be next up, with Jalen Brooks(2/16) and Kevontae Turpin(3/36) also in the mix.
- Rico Dowdle(17/107/1) will be leaned on heavily with Dak on the sidelines. He’s still available in over 30% of leagues.
- Drake London suffered a hip pointer on Sunday that forced him to exit the game. Darnell Mooney(5/88/1) and Ray-Ray McCloud(3/28/1) filled in the gaps, both scoring in the process. One would’ve expected Kyle Pitts(1/11) to contribute, with the roll he’s been on, but he only managed 1 catch on the day. Mooney is only available in 25% of leagues, but McCloud is readily available, if London were to miss time.
Jaguars – 23 @ Eagles – 28
- Tank Bigsby(8/22) just doesn’t get the touches he needs when the Jags abandon the run and Travis Etienne(5/30) is around. With a slew of top 10 run defenses on deck, he’s a shaky play at best as long as Etienne is in the mix.
- Parker Washington(3/41) led Jag WRs in receiving, with Gabe Davis(shoulder) out and Chrsitian Kirk(collarbone) on IR. He’ll retain some value, even if Davis returns this week, and could be a sneaky play against Minnesota’s rock bottom secondary.
- Grant Calcaterra(5/30) made his 3rd start with Dallas Goedert dealing with a hamstring. His upside is limited, but he’s a middling streamer this week versus Dallas, if Goedert remains out.
Bears – 9 @ Cardinals – 29
- Rome Odunze(5/104) had the big day for Bears pass-catchers, though he was only 3rd in targets(7). Keenan Allen(4/36) was Caleb WIlliams’ favorite target(10), but did little with his looks. With a cupcake schedule over the 2nd half of the season, we should see more from the Bears WR corps, with the explosive Odunze leading the pack. He’s available in almost 40% of leagues.
- The Cardinals went run heavy in this one, with Emari Demercado(6/80/1) and Trey Benson(9/55/1) both getting significant touches behind James Conner(21/119). The Cardinals may take a similar approach this week against the Jets vaunted secondary.
- Marvin Harrison(2/34) has been volatile in fantasy and won’t be any more secure of a play this week against the Jets. That being said, his schedule clears up following the WK11 bye, making him an ideal buy low.
Rams – 26 @ Seahawks – 20
- Puka Nacua(1/11) got ejected following a thrown punch, leaving Demarcus Robinson(6/94/2) to clean up in his absence. Nacua will be available this week, but Robinson has some juice as a redzone option and alternative to Kupp and Nacua, who will get extra attention from the Dolphins elite secondary this week.
- Tyler Lockett(3/63/1) had a decent bounce back after his 1 catch debacle in WK9, DK Metcalf(knee) sidelined. AJ Barner(4/27) surprisingly had more targets(7) though. The ‘Hawks have a bye this week and Metcalf should be back the following, making Lockett a risky play once again.
Lions – 24 @ Packers – 14
- Much like the Cardinals, the Lions used the ground game to keep the Packers’ passing game grounded(outside of Jayden Reed(5/113)) – The rain played its part too. Amon-Ra St. Brown(7/56/1) was the only Lion to see more than 3 targets on the day or go over 28 yards receiving.
- Emmanuel Wilson(4/28/1) found the endzone for the 2nd time this season, but with Chris Brooks(2/13) in the mix too, Wilson isn’t viable in fantasy. He needs a Josh Jacobs to befall an injury to be worth the hold.
Colts – 13 @ Vikings – 21
- Joe Flacco(16/179/0/1) regressed in what should’ve been a competitive game for the Colts’s passing offense. He’ll get another start this week, but it will come against a much stingier Buffalo secondary. It’ll be hard to rely on any Colts pass-catchers other than Josh Downs(6/60) this week.
- Josh Oliver(5/58/1) wanted to show that he got game, with TJ Hockenson(3/27) making his season debut. Oliver has scored twice in 2 games, but he won’t keep Hockenson from impacting this offense, once Hockenson is back to a full complement of snaps. Make sure Hock is rostered in your leagues.

waiver wire Q – I need a TE and do not want to drop Njoku. Which TE do you prefer to stream this week – Ferguson, Schultz, Henry, Hill, Freiermuth or Gesicki? I plan to drop Worthy for a TE — other WRs are AJ Brown, Kupp, Hopkins, Tillman and Jameson Williams. Do you agree? thanks
Any responses tonight
Gesicki if no Higgins and Ferguson otherwise
