Trashman’s Week 11 Garbage Grab
Trashman’s Garbage Grab: Week 11
Once again, running back is a tough position to substitute for off of the waiver wire, but there are plenty of able bodied options otherwise. Here’s the Grab going into Week 11…
Running Back
Gus Edwards, Chargers – 26% rostered
There isn’t much to choose from as far as waiver wire RBs go this week, but Edwards is at the top of that heap. After missing most of the season with an ankle injury, Edwards returned last week to carry the ball 10 times for 55 yards. He’s set to split carries with JK Dobbins for the foreseeable future, and though Dobbins is probably the 1A, Edwards should flirt with double digit touches until further notice.
Wide Receivers
Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Saints – 24% rostered
MVS was the model of efficiency last week, converting his 3 targets into 109 yards and 2 TDs against Atlanta. He’ll get his share of opportunities this week too, as the Saints play Cleveland, who boast one of the worst secondaries in the league. The top of the trash heap in Nola, MVS is worth a gamble.
Mike Williams, Steelers – 20% rostered
Williams turned his lone target into a score last week in his first game as a Steeler, and his targets will go up this week against the Ravens, who are arguably the best matchup for WRs in football right now.
Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Titans – 4% rostered
Westbrook-Ikhine was on the field for every offensive snap in WK10. He didn’t do a lot with his 3 targets, but his opponent, the Chargers, do well in covering WRS. He’ll have a much easier go of things this week, when Tennessee faces Minnesota, a top 5 matchup for opposing WRs. NWI has found the endzone in 4 of his last 5 games and is working as the 2nd or 3rd target for the Titans.
Tight End
Will Dissly, Seahawks – 34% rostered
Dissly led the Seahawks in receiving last week, though 5 catches for 30 yards isn’t much. That being said, his 6 targets led the team as well, and his matchup with Cincy this week is a top 5 matchup for TEs.
Quarterback
Drake Maye, Patriots – 14% rostered
Maye always keeps things interesting from a fantasy perspective, as he’s a versatile QB who is willing to take shots. He wasn’t so hot last week, but he was also playing the worst matchup for QBs on the week. In WK11, he’ll face a middling Rams defense and should be able to put up enough yards with his feet and through the air to make it count.
