Trashman’s Fantasy Fallout Heading Into Week 3

Trashman’s Fantasy Fallout Going Into Week 3 of the NFL Season

Welcome back, RosterWatch Nation. Week 2 gave us crazy comebacks, controversies, and a couple of box scores that will break free-agent budgets. Here’s the fallout going into Week 3 of the NFL season…

Packers 27 @ Commanders 18

Tucker Kraft (6/124-1) erupted with a breakout game, carving up Washington’s secondary down the seams. Romeo Doubs (3/28-1) also found the end zone. Jayden Reed fractured his collarbone, which will keep him out 6–8 weeks and put Dontayvion Wicks(4/44) back on the scene.

Jayden Daniels (24/42-200-2-0; 7-38-0 rush) stayed poised but played through a knee sprain that leaves him questionable for Week 3. Zach Ertz (6/64-1) turned back the clock with a score, while Deebo Samuel (7/44-1) was used creatively but bottled up. His 8 targets make him a shrewd waiver add.

Austin Ekeler is out for the season(Achilles), and maybe his career. It’s a sad turn of events that leaves Jacory Croskey-Merritt(4/17) to shoulder the load, along with Jeremy McNichols and Chris Rodriguez.

Bengals 31 vs Jaguars 27

Joe Burrow(7/13-76-1) started hot before exiting with a toe injury, and Jake Browning(21/32-241-2-3; 1-1-1) somehow finished the job with a nervy, game‑winning sneak . Burrow needs surgery on his toe and will be out for at least 3 months. Jake Browning will man the helm, but I”m sure help will be brought in.

Ja’Marr Chase vacuumed targets and yards like it was 2021 all over again (14/165/1 on 18 targets), winning at every level. The fact that he did this with Browning under center gives his owners some hope for future production, but it’s still a downgrade. Tee Higgins had a decent outing(3/56/1), but it’s him who I worry about most.

Trevor Lawrence(24/42-271-3-2) kept pace for Jacksonville, while Travis Etienne provided balance (2/18/1; 3/25/0).

Parker Washington (5/76-0) is emerging as a reliable slot presence, leading the Jags in receiving. He is worth a look in PPR formats, as is Dyami Brown, who had 7 targets and a TD.

Bhaysul Tuten(8/42; 2/32/1) had double-digit touches and scored. With Tank Bigsby gone, he could provide standalone value.

Giants 37 @ Cowboys 40 (OT)

Russell Wilson turned back the clock with a bombs‑away performance (30/41-450-3-1), repeatedly finding Malik Nabers down the field (9/167/2). This performance should keep him under center this week, though the late INT is troubling.

Nabers went nuts, but so did Wan’Dale Robinson(8/142/1). That line is good enough to roster him in most formats.

Dak Prescott matched haymaker for haymaker (31/47-361-2-1) and leaned on CeeDee Lamb (9/112/0) and George Pickens(5/68/1) when it mattered, setting up Brandon Aubrey’s overtime winner.

Javonte Williams gave Dallas needed ballast (18-97-1) and appears locked into red‑zone work.

Bears 21 @ Lions 52

Jameson Williams(2/108/1) went off but only had 4 targets on the day. He needs more volume to stay in lineups on a weekly basis. The same can be said for Isaac TeSlaa, who had an amazing circus catch but was silent the rest of the day.

For Chicago, Caleb Williams(19/33-252-2-1) kept swinging, while Rome Odunze(7/128/2) looked the part again. He looks like the de facto no.1 in Chicago. DJ Moore on the other hand seems to be taking a backseat. He could be a buy low.

Rams 33 @ Titans 19

Matthew Stafford painted the sidelines and layered throws over linebackers (23/33-298-2-0), while Davante Adams reminded everyone he’s still HIM (6/106/1).

Blake Corum(5/44/1) was the only unusual suspect on the LA side of the ball. It isn’t a garish line, but he could be a headache for Williams if this keeps up.

Cam Ward(19/33-175-1-0)  showed poise in his home debut and got Elic Ayomanor his first TD (3/37/1) on a beautiful cross-field throw. Ayomanor deserves to be owned in 12-team formats.

Patriots 33 @ Dolphins 27

Drake Maye(19/23-230-2-0; 4-18-1) was ruthlessly efficient and composed, steering New England to sustained drives, though he rarely found his WRs. Kayshon Boutte stayed viable with his 1 TD grab.

Rhamondre Stevenson(11-54-0; 7/88/0) did the heavy lifting between the tackles and after the catch, anchoring the offense. TreVeyon Henderson(3/10; 2/30) fell to earth in this one, as he was out-touched by Antonio Gibson too.

Tua Tagovailoa posted volume in chase mode (26/32-315-2-1). There are no Dolphins worth sniffing around outside of their big 3 of Hill, Waddle and Achane.

49ers 26 @ Saints 21

Mac Jones distributed confidently in his first outing in Shanahan’s system (26/39-279-3-0), leveraging YAC monsters on in‑breakers.

Jauan Jennings played bully ball on third down and in the red area (5/89/1), while Christian McCaffrey(13-55-0; 6/52/1) vacuumed volume as always . Ricky Pearsall popped again as a chain mover and boundary winner (4/56/0), maintaining weekly flex viability.

Kendrick Bourne (3/32/0) logged trustworthy snaps and usage; he’s the next‑man plug when game scripts tilt pass‑heavy.

Spencer Rattler kept New Orleans alive with timely strikes (25/34-207-3-0), leaning on Juwan Johnson (5/49/1) and Rashid Shaheed (4/52/1). Rattler could be developing into a streaming option, though his longest pass was only 13 yards.

Bills 30 @ Jets 10

Josh Allen(14/25-148-0-0; 6-59-0) didn’t need hero‑ball with the ground game rolling,  and James Cook running with decisive burst (21-132-2), handled clock‑killing duty late.

Keon Coleman worked outside leverage for chunk gains (3/26/0 on 3 targets), while Dalton Kincaid kept the chains moving (4/37/0 on 6 targets). Those 6 targets led the team. Joshua Palmer quietly led Buffalo in receiving yards (2/47/0) and remains a viable bye‑week WR dart in calmer scripts.

Tyrod Taylor(7/11-56-1-0) took over mid‑game after Justin Fields sustained a concussion, and Garrett Wilson still found production (4/50/0) amid offensive turbulence. This offense is not threatening at all with Taylor under center, but he should be able to avoid making too many mistakes should he have to start in WK3.

Seahawks 31 @ Steelers 17

Sam Darnold(22/33-295-2-2) survived two picks and kept firing, hitting AJ Barner (3/25/1) and Tory Horton (3/35/1) for scores.

Kenneth Walker III ripped off explosive runs when the Steelers softened up (13-105-1), slamming the door late. Zach Charbonnet out-touched him 15 – 14 but only managed 10 yards. Rumors of Walker’s demise were exaggerated.

For Pittsburgh, Aaron Rodgers(18/33-203-1-2) battled but couldn’t consistently threaten downfield , and Jaylen Warren had to be his own outlet (14-48-0 rush; 4/86/0 rec).

Kaleb Johnson(1/1) can’t stay out of his own way. He flubbed a kickoff in the 4th quarter that resulted in a Seattle score. He’s only worth owning in dynasty formats.

Browns 17 @ Ravens 41

Zay Flowers (7/75-0) led in volume, while DeAndre Hopkins (2/64-1) and Tylan Wallace(2/25-1) found the endzone. Rookie Devontez Walker (2/26-2) stunned with two touchdowns on 2 targets.

Mark Andrews(1/2) did squat once again. He’s on the field, but he’s not getting targets.

Cleveland’s Joe Flacco faced relentless heat (31/45-290-1-2), with Cedric Tillman providing the lone WR highlight (5/52/1).

Quinshon Judkins (10-61-0 rush) led the Browns on the ground, showing promise in limited carries and Jerome Ford (6-31-0 rush) also saw some work. It was Dylan Sampson(4/6; 3/13/1) who hit paydirt though. This was the kind of split backfield you hate to see in fantasy.

Joe Flacco (25/45-199-1-1) struggled with turnovers, including a sack-strip that led to a defensive touchdown. He was moved aside late in favor of Dillon Gabriel (3/3-19-1-0), who capped off a scoring drive with a TD pass. A change of scenery could be coming soon, as it doesn’t do Cleveland any favors to have Flacco on the field if he’s a liability. One of the rookies could lose the game just as well as he did.

Broncos 28 @ Colts 29

Daniel Jones(23/34-316-1-0; 6-22-1) commanded the operation with veteran calm, and Jonathan Taylor did JT things (25-165-0; 3/50/1). I hate to say it, but Jones should be owned in most formats.

Josh Downs(6/51) led the Colts in targets(8). While the yards didn’t quite add up, it’s still a promising sign.

Bo Nix(18/29-206-3-1) flashed rhythm throws and legs , keeping Denver in it alongside J.K. Dobbins (14-76-1). RJ Harvey(⅝; 1/16) is a bench stash right now, despite what you might hear otherwise.

Tory Franklin provided tough grabs (8/89/1), leading the Broncos in targets(9) and receiving. He needs to be owned.

Panthers 22 @ Cardinals 27

Bryce Young(35/55-328-3-1) piled up late volume in rally mode, and Tetairoa McMillan looked ready for primetime (6/100/0 on 9 targets).

Chuba Hubbard(10-38-0; 5/39/1) handled most of the ground work but contributed mostly through the air, while Hunter Renfrow(7/48/2) has had 9 and 6 targets over his first 2 games as a Panther, in addition to 2 scores. He’s PPR viable y’all.

The same can be said for Ja’Tavion Sanders(7/54) who garnered 9 targets as well.

Same old story for Marvin Harrison(2/27) who plays a disappearing act every other game it seems. I avoided him in every draft, and this is why.

Eagles 20 @ Chiefs 17

Jalen Hurts did just enough with his arm and legs (15/22-101-0-1; 10-39-1) to secure a road win in the Super Bowl rematch. Just enough, wasn’t nearly enough for Eagles pass-catchers, especially AJ Brown(5/27) who had his second dud in a row. He’s a buy low… I hope.

Patrick Mahomes(16/29-187-1-1) was forced into tight‑window throws and led the Chiefs in rushing on scrambles (7-66-1), which is not how KC wants to live.

Tyquan Thornton’s (2/59/1) late 49‑yard TD showed off-field‑stretch juice; he’s a boom‑bust flex while roles crystallize behind Kelce.

Falcons 22 @ Vikings 6

Bijan Robinson(22-143) was the best player on the field, setting the tone as Atlanta leaned on defense and the run. Tyler Allgeier(16/76/1) scored the only rushing TD though and looks like a viable flex.

J.J. McCarthy had a rough go in his first home start (11/21-158-0-2), though Justin Jefferson still produced splash gains (3/81). Jalen Nailor(3/31) had 5 targets, and I guess he’s the 3rd option at worst for Minnesota right now.

        1. You look like you have a good enough team not to get chopped this week, but you know your league better than me. If you are in dire need, you make a run at Chase Brown or CD, but in these leagues, you really don’t want to be spending in SEPT if you don’t really, really have to. Of course if you get chopped, that will be bad advice, but if you’re in it to win it, you can stack value for cheaper thru the later weeks and have a super team by the end if you avoid temptation in these spots where you think you can skate by to see another week.

  2. Im in a 12 team Super-flex league. Currently have Geno, Bryce Young and Daniel Jones as my QB’s. Still have my full $1500 FAB. Should I bid heavy for Jake Browning?

    1. I would bid on him, but not heavy. Maybe $178 or so, I don’t think you’ll get him but you can at least price enforce.

      1. Haha, well it didn’t matter. The guy with Burrow spent his whole $1500 for him

  3. Trade question
    Here is my team
    Jayden Daniels
Gibbs, Jacobs, Cook, Judkins, Montgomery, and Javonte Williams
Mclauren, McMillan, Jamison William, Jauan Jennings, Q Johnston and Addison

offer — Drake London and choice of Sutton or Ridley for Addison and Javonte Williams

    1. also – after trade I need to come up with a drop for a QB for week 3

      1. Trade offer was modified – London for Williams straight up

        1. or London and Sutton fro Williams and Johnston
          thanks

          1. answered on another post but if you are getting the London/Sutton side, then make the deal. great trade

  4. Down to Irving, Henderson and Pacheco in a 10 team ppr.
    Algiers on waivers.
Can afford to trade D. SMITH. Is K Walker a fair request in a trade?

    1. Post By Cody Carpentier

That is light in a 10 tm – would try to do both, add Allgeier and move to KW, Swift or Conner

  5. While waiting have a second route.
I have Bowers and Juwan Johnson.
Which RB is reachable trade for Bowers?
