2014 NFL Free Agency: Miami Dolphins- Potential Cuts and Free Agents

Lamar Miller

The Miami Dolphins head into the 2014 offseason with a projected $31M in salary cap space. They have 21 free agents total, including 15 who have the unrestricted designation. Mike Wallace (WR) may have trouble connecting with Ryan Tannehill (QB), but he surely has no trouble connecting with his bank account. Wallace counts $17M towards the 2014 cap. His financials account for $24M in dead money.

Granted, it’s early in the life of these contracts, but the Dolphins are also upside down on the next four largest cap hits on their books- Cameron Wake, Danelle Ellerbe, Philip Wheeler, and Brian Hartline.

Amazingly, the team still has plenty of room to maneuver, as the face losing impact defensive players Randy Starks (DT), and Paul Soliai (DT) to free agency. Of very little fantasy relevance- Dustin Keller (TE), and Marlon Moore (WR) are also free agents. We doubt either is back in 2014.

Other players of fantasy ilk, whom we consider strong possibilities to be restructured or cut from the Dolphins roster are- Rishard Mathews (WR), Brandon Gibson (WR), Daniel Thomas (RB), and Michael Egnew (TE).

** If the team decides they have soured on Lamar Miller, he could be gone as well. We expect him to get one more crack
