Scouting Notes:
Some industry sites have Diggs pegged as purely a straight-line runner, but they must not have been watching the same tape that we have. None of them were inside Lucas Oil Stadium taking reps of every receiving drill in Indy like we were, either. Diggs looks absolutely electric in slants and crossing routes, evading defenders with ease as he changes direction on a dime. A hands-catcher, the kid has incredible body awareness and balance, always knowing where his feet are on the field. Diggs attacks the ball in the air but attacks it with soft hands – and he can make the most of broken plays with his shiftiness and sometimes frenetic vision. He tends to rely on his natural abilities too often, foregoing crisp routes and solid blocking. He’ll need to prove he can actually work hard at the next level, because what he does currently seems effortless.
Fantasy Outlook:
A history of injuries and an pattern of immaturity, on and off the field, are the main knocks against Diggs in the draft. He could stand to gain some muscle, too. Another year in college would have suited him, but that would just be another chance for him to hurt himself as well. He looks to be a third round pick as is. Once on a team, Diggs will have to earn his keep, probably starting out on special teams as he’s a prolific returner. The sky is the limit with this guy though, as he has all the God-given abilities to be a star in the NFL. It’s scary to make the comparison, but the player he reminded me of the most on his best tape, with his acrobatic contested comedowns and shoestring catches was none other than THE Odell Beckham Jr. Of course, ODB is a much more superb route-runner, but as a potential playmaker Diggs is at least in the conversation. His value in dynasty leagues will of course be tied to the situation he’s drafted into, but for pre-NFL draft purposes, you can feel safe taking Diggs in Round 2 of four-round dynasty league rookie drafts.

Where do you see him being drafted in the third round upper half or lower half?
I’m wondering if any teams may try for him in the second round.
Thank you RW!
