One of the most potentially fruitful positional plays in fantasy is that of an athletic, pass-catching tight end attached to Aaron Rodgers’ arm. The Packers’ selection of Richard Rodgers of Cal in the 2014 NFL draft gave fantasy owners hope that finally the position in Green Bay may be occupied by someone other than Andrew Quarless and Brandon Bostick who have, for the most part, operated as JAGs for their NFL careers – especially in fantasy.

And it looks like Bostick is getting a little worried there might be something to all this Richard Rodgers hype, and Bostick, who is recovering from injury, could be beginning to shake in his walking boot regarding previous hopes of claiming the starting role, according to Ty Dunne of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

“He’s out there making plays,” Bostick told Dunne, “and I’m like, ‘Man, I need to be out there!'”

Yea, you need to be out there, alright, Bostick. Rodgers not only shares a last name with QB Aaron Rodgers which makes a Rodgers-to-Rodgers connection seem almost destined, but if we look at real facts, we know that Rodgers is a “Ted Thompson player.” He’s a versatile hard-worker and comes from an NFL family as his father, Richard Sr., is the special teams coach of the Carolina Panthers and a man very respected in NFL circles.

In the same report, Dunne claimed that Rodgers has been the Packers “MVP of (June’s) organized team activities.” It doesn’t take a scientist to put this two and two together and realize that of all rookie tight ends coming into the 2014 season, Rodgers may, as of right now, be the player we are most comfortable taking in dynasty. Furthermore, it’s looking like he’ll be a legitimate, sneaky redraft option as well until our cover gets blown by the mass media. Target Rodgers as early as the late-first round in your dynasty rookie PPR drafts, and don’t be afraid to “reach” on him in 2014 redraft leagues while your league-mates take their WR5-type-players. You’ll thank us by midseason.
