RWi RosterWatch Matchup Tool – Week 6

This is a proprietary weekly tool provided by RosterWatch.alex byline It is designed to be a decision-making tool for gauging the defensive opponents your fantasy players face. If you are new to this, our time-tested, most popular tool, the instructions couldn’t be simpler, and can be found below.

Week 6 Matchup

To use the tool, think about your fantasy player.

Let’s say you own Bears RB Matt Forte, and would like to see how he matches up against the defense he faces this week.

First look at the Bears’ matchup for the week, and see what the number is inside the “vs. RBs” cell for the Bears’ OPPONENT.

(Forte is a RB, and you would like to know his opponent’s rank vs. that position.)

As you will see, the Bears are playing the Falcons, who have a big, blue ‘No. 1’ in their “vs. RBs” cell. This is a great indicator for Forte owners.

Repeat the same process for other players on your roster as you are trying to decide which players to start, sit or pick up off the waiver wire for matchup spot-plays.

“1″ is the best matchup, “32″ is the worst.

BLUE: Best Matchups
LIGHT BLUE: Borderline Top Matchups
LIGHT RED: Borderline Bottom Matchups
RED: Worst Matchups

The rankings represented here are derived via a proprietary algorithm which takes into account not only standard “fantasy points against” metrics, but also weighted averages of separate individual player scouting grades for members of the 2014 unit that will be defending, pass-rushing, or covering against the position in question in Week 6.

    1/2 PPR…

    I’m a huge fan of Kelvin Benjamin, but I think I may sit him in favor for Welker in my flex against the Jets. Is that the right call? I think Cincy’s defense will pick it up at home this week, and I’m not benching him because of his
    performance last week.

    Also, Eli at PHI over Big Ben at CLE this week?

      It’s still early but right now, I;d say I would have a hard time benching Kelvin but might consider it given matchup, probably moreso in PPR. Our rankings will be close to final by Friday or so, so check back. Probably go Eli at this point, but again, check back.

    I am in 9th out of 12 teams in a 1 point PPR. I feel like I need to make a move. Would you trade Roddy White, Pierre Garcon, Ben Tate, and Cam Newton for Calvin Johnson, Drew Brees, and Odel Beckham, Jr.?

    Got offered AJ Green and Reggie Bush for Forte and Sammy Watkins. I turned it down because I don’t trust Reggie as a RB2 since I also have Giovani Bernard. I have Julio, Alshon, Crab, Malcolm Floyd but I’m looking to try and snag AJ in a 2-for-1. He’s looking for a RB and the only other RB I have on my bench is JHill. Would you trade Gio and a WR or Ertz or Donnell to try and get Green and pick up a RB from the Waiver Wire Cheat Sheet? or just stick with what I have?

      I have the same decision and I’m going with Foles but I hate doing it. No Jones/Green makes it easier to bench Dalton.

    I’m weak at TE (working with Ertz and H Miller) and I have a trade offer where I’d receive M Bennett for Fred Jackson….do I do this? My other RB’s are Forte, L Bell, and Spiller.

    In a full ppr i need to start 2 wrs and a flex out of these guys: Joique bell, FJax, DMC, Lamar miller, and Brandon Oliver.
    Also would you put beckham jr or Evans (if he plays) over k. Allen, Benjamin or one of those rbs in the flex?

      woulda said Miller before we knew Knowshon was probable. Now I might lean Martin, seems like he’s due. Floyd over Crab til he does something.

    I’m tired with waiting on andre johnson – he’s sitting in my flex spot in a standard scoring league. With a matchup with the tough on wr Colts looming this thursday night – should i bite the bullet and roll with Justin Hunter in the flex over andre? Basically roll the dice on the horrible jags defense giving hunter room to take one deep? Or does the likely prospect of whitehurst kill that idea – and i should roll with a gimpy johnson on a short week?

    At RB I have Leveon, Lacy, Gore, Williams, Oliver, and Hillman. Odell Beckham is a FA. At WR I have Julio, Sanders, Benjamin, Patterson, Gordon, Fitz. Should I drop any of these guys to pick up Beckham? If so – who?

    With AJ Green banged up, do you see Sanu having enough upside to drop Josh Gordon in a 10 Team .5PPR? I am set at RB but Alshon, Michael Floyd and Patterson are my only WR’s.

    Additionally, where do you place Sanu compared to Brian Quick?

    I am 2-3 in a 12 team full point ppr league. We can only roster a maximum of 4 WRs. My WRs are Antonio Brown, Kelvin Benjamin, Michael Floyd, and Cordarrelle Patterson. This may sound really crazy. Would you drop Cordarrelle Patterson for Odell Beckham Jr? I get the feeling that Patterson may be a bust this year due to Norv Turner’s inability to give him the ball on a consistent basis week to week. Plus many experts seem to knock Patterson for his route running and inability to get open on a consistent basis. The Giants offense seems to be firing on all cylinders. Thanks to your cheat sheet I already have both Rashad Jennings and Andre Williams on my roster. I know you guys were really high on Patterson to begin the year. Therefore, I am not sure if this would be the right move to make. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Ok I am screwed this week but I am trying. I have Fred Jackson, Knowshon, Ball and Jennings. Ball and Jennings are out, Jackson and Knowshon are Questionable. I can pick up Antone Smith, Storm Johnson, George Winn, Hulu, Cunningham, Starks, or Freeman. I need to fill 2 rb spots in a Standard League, non PPR.

    I also have Brees on bye and have Carson Palmer but he might not play, I can pick up Fitzpatrick, hoyer, Austin Davis, Tannehill or whoever starts in Tennessee?

    Would you drop Owen Daniels for Dwanye Allen, Coby Fleener, Jared Cook, or Tm Wright?

    What would you do? Week 5 may have killed my season. I lost Rashad Jennings, Montee Ball, Jimmy Graham and Calvin Johnson.

    Here is my current PPR lineup on my 3-2 team…
    QB: Romo, Dalton
    RB: Jennings, Forsett, Ball, Davis, McKinnon
    WR: Benjamin, Cobb, Megatron, Wayne
    TE: Graham

    I have sinced picked up Storm Johnson for McKinnon. I am obviously weak at RB. Looking at the other teams, there is one team with Gore, Bell, Bush, Tate and Williams. He also has Jordan Cameron at TE. Does it make sense for me to propose trading Jimmy Graham for Tate and Williams?

    Is there another trade I should try to make?

    Okay so I have a blockbuster trade offer. Very tough choice. I am 4-1 in and in first in a 10 team ppr.
    I would be giving up Julio, K. Allen, R. Jennings, and Evans for Calvin, Djax, asiata, and Stacy.

    I’m leaning towards not taking it, but I am kind of RB needy right now with DMC, FJax, j. Bell, L. miller, Matthews, and Oliver. And my WR are Benjamin, beckham Jr., and Gordon. We start 3 WR, 2 rb and a flex..
    I can counter offer. I also have graham and D. Allen at TE and luck at QB. He has Wilson and eli at QB, Antonio brown, maclin, colston, Robinson at wr; forsett, Steven Jackson, ball, Cunningham at rb, and Cameron, donnell at TE. He’s in 7th. So I have the upper hand

      I don’t like that trade. Julio is performing on par with cj and he’s not hurt. Allen should turn it on soon and Jennings will be back. Asiata should start losing carries to McKinnon sooner than later too. I might offer one of your lesser rbs and something else for stacy. His owner is probably itching to move him as he’s up against Sf this week.

        Thanks! I was thinking the same thing, just needed an expert opinion. I might look into something like that for Stacy. Or like a Keenan Allen and a rb for Calvin thinking he’s itching to deal him. I would have Calvin, Julio, and Gordon in the playoffs! And graham
