rosterwatch_logo2014

RosterWatch Nation, please do not underestimate the importance of setting your weekly waiver claims. It truly may be the most important thing you do ever week besides sleeping and showering.

At the beginning of each week, you should immediately identify the worthless garbage at the bottom of your roster that is wasting space on your bench and whom you can drop. You should then recycle those players for the best waiver wire pickups possible, every single week.

We make it easy with the Waiver Wire Cheat Sheet. It’s simple to understand, and tells you who to pick up. The cheat sheet is also a huge time-saver. Sifting through waiver options can be very time-consuming, as well as mind-numbing. If you follow the Waiver Wire Cheat Sheet, it will only take you a few minutes to set waivers each week, and expert results are guaranteed.

  1. Is the Waiver only used ranked based on the upcoming week? Not rest of the season? Where would you rank Jordan Reed (TE/Was)?

    1. It’s based on many factors- Reed is more than 50% owned and is why he’s not on the list. We’d rank Reed right up at the top of waiver wire TEs- we like him esp while DeSean is out

  2. I would guess it’s used based on the rest of the season since Antonio Gates is listed

    1. we factor in upcoming matchups as well as long-term considerations

  3. Not beating the Buck Allen drum anymore? Tried to tell you guys last week Zo was the backup.

    1. We still like Buck Allen more than Lorenzo and that will never change- there are other factors in play when making this tool

  4. No Richard Matthews? Afraid he’s on borrowed time? I am.

    1. not buying it yet

  5. If adding either for depth, would you burn your league’s top waiver priority position for Karlos or Starks? Thanks for the advice. Appreciate the work you guys put in on the sheets!

    1. We would strongly consider burning top position this early in the season for Karlos- not Starks

      1. unless we owned lacy

  6. Is Ebron the top tight end to pick up for next week? With Denver D and possibly no Stafford? And Stafford looking awful even if he does play? I just need one to get me through the next 2 weeks til Gates gets back. Or should I stick with terrible Vernon Davis?

    1. Ladarius Green is a perfectly good option if you are waiting on Gates. Stafford may play and Ebron getting massive snap counts and targets + but we are perfectly fine with Gillmore if you like him better- that was a tough hair to split between those two

  7. Drop Charles Johnson for Martavis Bryant as my WR 5 in a 10 team ppr? Thanks!

    1. YES!!!!!!!!

  8. Can’t seem to get the cheat sheet…..brings me to a blank page! Help!

    1. Referring to the Week 3 waiver wire cheat sheet….

      1. Sorry just got this TD Doc- did you get the sheet? It’s coming up clean for me, and we are having no other reported issues. If you can’t get it, please just give me the email address you are signed up for RW PRO under- and I can email it you directly

  9. Guys, thanks for the waiver advice. Going to grab Ebron as another option to Marty Bennett due to Cutler’s injury.

I’m in need of advice on a trade that was proposed to me:
Give – Carson Palmer + Donte Moncrief
Get – Drew Brees + Lamar Miller

Do you guys expect Brees and Miller to bounce back and have good seasons? I have Rivers on my bench to use until Brees is healthy and Moncrief was a waiver pickup last week who is sitting deep on my bench (behind Julio Jones, Emmanuel Sanders, Amari Cooper, Steve Smith Sr). My other RBs are Forte, Gore and Doug Martin, but Lamar Miller would be a nice add I think.

    What are your thoughts?

    1. yeah – looks like Miller would have more value to you than Moncrief- Brees and Palmer are a wash- esp if you have Rivers

  10. Currently have the bengals as my D. Thoughts on dropping them for the Browns?

  11. 12 Team Standard

    (1) QB: Dalton
    (2) WR: A. Brown, Hopkins (Watkins, R. White, Stevie Johnson)
    (2) RB: Forte, Abdullah (Gore, J. Starks)
    (1) TE: Rudolph
    (1) FLEX: D. Martin
    Bench total : (5)

    1. Somehow Karlos Williams and Ebron didn’t clear waivers so I’m wondering if they should be added to my team over anyone?

    2. Also is now the time to trade Forte for Gronk?

    Best available:
QB: Bridgewater, Taylor, Carr, Foles, Bortles, Smith, Fitzpatrick, Winston, Manziel
RB: Hillman (waivers), K. Williams, McFadden, C. Michael, A. WIlliams, Sims, Dunbar, K. Robinson, Powell, Knile Davis, F. Jackson
WR: Charles Johnson (waivers), M. Wheaton, Hurns, M.Jones Perriman, N. Washington, T. Benjamin, T. Montgomory, T. AUstin
TE: Ebron, J. Thomas, H. MIller, V. Davis, D. Allen, Gates, Rodgers, Clay, Gillmore

    1. Damn waited too long on Ebron and he isn’t available anymore…

  12. Need some help, standard league pick 2. Brandon Cooks, Allen Robinson, or Dante Moncrief? Thanks

    1. pls wait for final rankings and flex rankings later in week- for now Robinson and Moncrief

  13. 14 team non ppr league:

I’m stuck playing Guess the QB to start… I’ve got Stafford and Mariota

I just missed getting Newton on the waiver wire. Taylor is there, you guys like dropping stafford for him?

Doesn’t give me the greatest of feelings at QB but thanks to the draft rankings I have David Johnson, Matt Jones, Gurley, Martin and Mark Ingram so I do have potential trade bait for down the road… At least my RB situation makes losing Dez a little more tolerable

    1. we would drop Mariota for Taylor

Your RBs are fantastic- you’re thinking straight that you should trade some of that depth later in the season to upgrade your starting lineup- for now the depth is nice

  14. 12 team PPR Dynasty:

Should I trade my Matt Jones for David Cobb, 2016 rookie 1st and 2nd round pick?

    My roster:
QB: Rodgers/Ryan (Currently shopping one of them)
    RB: Freeman/Gurley/M.Jones/D.Martin/CMike/Turbin
    WR: AntonioBrown/Fitz/Floyd/Percy/Stevie/DeVanteParker
    TE: Eifert/Ladarius

    1. Hate trading Jones in Dynasty esp with Morris in final year of contract, however that is a very compelling offer and may be too much in return to pass up. If you believe in Cobb we would prob do it. He has a good chance to start next yr. But, it’s hard to come by guys like Jones sometimes when you get em you have to keep him. But man that is a solid offer after just one big week. Prob is we don’t think it’s a fluke with Jones.

Are you getting picks or players for your extra QB? We’d almost rather see you get the future picks for the QB and keep Jones. Obv you need to continue to re-stock your WR, either through draft of trade for veteran

      1. Good call on keeping Jones and trying to get pics for the qb…will try that route instead.

  15. would steve smith and woodhead be too much to give up for emmanuel sanders if they accept the trade. My team is below:

rivers, bradford, antonio brown, allen robinson, steve smith, stevie johnson, brandon cooks, lat murray, forsett, woodhead, abdullah, jordan reed

    start 2wr, 2rb, flex

    1. also would the above be too much for edelman?

      1. Would rather have Sanders than Edelman if it’s not dynasty- fair offer- prob is we think you need wood head

        1. why do you think I need woodhead, oh I forgot I have doug martin as well does that change thoughts on woodhead?

          1. Post By yeagermeister

oh and its not dynasty 12 man ppr, sorry forgot to mention

          2. Post By FootballKingz

yeah we would do it then- we’d go for Sanders over Edelaman

  16. Okay so referring back one of my first question that was skipped, can you guys help me work out a trade here?

    12 Team Standard League

    My Team:
    (1) QB: Dalton
    (2) WR: A. Brown, Hopkins (Watkins, R. White, Stevie Johnson)
    (2) RB: Forte, Abdullah (Gore, J. Starks)
    (1) TE: Rudolph
    (1) FLEX: D. Martin
    Bench total : (5)

    His team:
    (1) QB: P. Manning (Cam Newton)
    (2) WR: OBJ, James Jones (Evans, D. Jackson, M. Bryant)
    (2) RB: L. Miller, Spiller (Sproles)
    (1) TE: Gronk
    (1) FLEX: J. Reed
    Bench total : (5)

My buddy has been trying to trade Gronk since day one so I’m thinking we can help each other but I don’t want to overpay considering the usual depth on the TE waiver wire… Considering who is available as FAs and that he isn’t too attached to OBJ or Evans, what should I offer him to better my team? I know all he wants for Gronk is Forte. Should I target Reed instead of Gronk? I was even debating trying to trade for CAM? Help RW!

    Best available:
QB: Bridgewater, Taylor, Carr, Foles, Bortles, Smith, Fitzpatrick, Winston, Manziel
RB: Hillman (waivers), K. Williams, McFadden, C. Michael, A. WIlliams, Sims, Dunbar, K. Robinson, Powell, Knile Davis, F. Jackson
WR: Charles Johnson (waivers), M. Wheaton, Hurns, M.Jones Perriman, N. Washington, T. Benjamin, T. Montgomory, T. AUstin
TE: Ertz (waivers), J. Cook (waivers), H. MIller, V. Davis, D. Allen, Gates, Rodgers, Gillmore

    1. Lots of thoughts-

      General about your waiver wire-

You shld prob own Tyrod (we’d rather get him for free than trade for Cam)
KWilliams, and potentially Hillman should be owned
It’s about time to start thinking about picking Perriman up= Hurns/Jones solid waiver options and NWashington if Hopkins is out
Heath Miller been a solid option with Martavis out- he should be owned right now- as should Gillmore

Only guys on his team we want are ODB, Gronk, and maybe Evans who could be a nice buy low with ASJ sidelined. But truly- he may be on your bench some weeks- ODB and Gronk are guys you will get in every week- that’s who we would target- Martavis is semi-interesting as well – but again Im not sure he’s a clear cut starter on your squad and u already have brown

His RBs suck so he wants Forte- I’m not sure your RBs are good enough to lose Forte- the rest of your team is very good already and we don’t like any of his RBs as upside guys in return. Can you offer him like Abdullah / Gore / Martin + Watkins for Odell? Even throw in Rudolph for Gronk instead of Odell? Or two of those RBs + Rudolph for GronK?
Or if you are comfortable shuffling through all those RB2s every week- I guess you could do something Like Forte + Watkins (pref- but he might want Hopkins) + Rudolph for Odell and Gronk- we would be fine with that could make your squad pretty filthy if you matchup play the RBs right rest of season. Good luck

      1. Thanks a ton guys! This was just the the advice I was looking for and it’s greatly appreciated! I’ve tried all the trade options you suggested with the Gronk and OBJ owner but unfortunately he’s more stubborn than I thought …

However I will be picking up Tyrod Taylor soon by dropping Dalton based on your rankings and as much as I want Karlos Williams, Hillman or Perriman on my team, I’m just not sure how to make room for any of them.

As far my TE position goes, I’ll stick with Rudolph vs. SD this week at least because Gilmore was already picked up and although Heath Miller @STL is available, you guys have Rudolph ranked higher this week anyway.

    2. i’d target reed here. gillmore is a nice upside pick off the waivers too. he might take starks for reed straight up right now.

  17. Trade thoughts/question. 10 team, 1/2 pt PPR. Start 2 RBs, 3 WR, and 1 WR/RB flex. I have:

RBs: Peterson, L Murray, Hillman, Matt Jones
WRs: Julio Jones, OBJ, Marshall, Steve Smith, John Brown, James Jones

Trying to figure out another RB to target. Who would you suggest, based off my roster? One team that has expressed interest has Jeremy Hill, Mark Ingram, Lamar Miller, and Alfred Morris and is weak at WR.

    Thoughts?

    1. you could probably get miller or morris for cheap right now.

  18. PPR LEAGUE
    RIVERS
    L MURRAY ,J HILL ,
    M WALLACE , J JONES
    M BENNETT
    FLEX WATKINS
    K BRYANT
    PANTHERS

    BENCH
I CROWELL. M JONES. T MASON. TJ YELDON
    HURNS. PERRIMAN
    H MILLER

SHOULD I PUT IN A CLAIM FOR KAEPERNIICK. T BENJAMIN. OR EBRON

    1. i’d go with kaepo. benj has great upside, but he doesn’t project well for ppr format.

      1. i lost out all 3 were claimed

  19. Who do I start standard leauge

    Dion Lewis or David johnson

  20. Received a trade offer today – 12 team .5 pt PPR. Give up Calvin Johnson & Bishop Sankey for Carlos Hyde & Jarvis Landry.

My other WR’s: Antonio Brown, Deandre Hopkins, Steve Smith Sr., Stevie Johnson, Mike Wallace, Allen Hurns
My other RB’s: Doug Martin, Abdullah, Ronnie Hillman

I’m thinking that this is a good deal for me since I’m a little light in the RB department (as long as Hyde is healthy, but I think it’s worth the risk)… thanks for your input! Loving the info. you guys put out here

    1. this looks like a great deal

  21. My question is my flex, should I plug in Matt Jones in place of Doug Martin or keep it the way it is?
    Thanks!

    12man ppr

    QB: M. Ryan
    WR1: R. Cobb
    WR2: B. Cooks
    RB1: L.Bell
    RB2: C. Hyde
    TE: T. Kelce
    Flex: D. Martin

Bench: T. Williams, DeAngelo Williams, Matt Jones

    1. i’d keep it where it is. we know martin will get the bulk of carries.

  22. Got a QB question. Wondering if I should grab Fitzpatrick (he’s the highest ranked available, or Foles). Or should I be trying to make a trade to upgrade (everyone has 2 QBs, but 2 of us). If so, who should I drop? Here’s my line up for this week, Thanks

    14 team PPR

    Q Stafford
    WR1 Julio Jones,
    WR2 E Sanders,
    RB M Forte
    RB2 D Freeman
    Flex B Marshall
    TE K Rudolph

Bench: A Abdullah, S Smith Sr., R White, C Sims, James Jones

    1. Just saw your DECLASSIFIED article…thanks 🙂 dropped Sims and I’m starting Fitz this week. Let me know if there are any other changes I should make! (I’m 1-1 thanks to you guys, would have been 2-0 but for a crazy kicker going off for my opponent last week, lol)
