  1. two questions if yall please,

    1) how much should qbs getting 6 points per TD elevate their value?

    2) i have 10th pick in a 10 team standard league. i am consistently getting leveon bell at 10. i feel like if i get him i need to have D williams also, for the first 3 weeks. to do that i have to with the first pick of the 6th round. is that too much of a stretch? do you guys think D williams is a MUST have in you draft Bell? thanks.

    1. 1. I’ve played in a 6 pts per TD for QB league for over 10 years. I’ve never noticed much of a difference between that league and the 4 pt/td leagues I’ve also been in. Usually, a 6 pt/td league will reduce the point value for passing yards (from .05 to .04/yd), but even that’s not necessary to make the different point systems comparable. If you want to fine tune a selection based on this rule difference, maybe consider how INTs are counted. Usually, a 4pt/td league will count -1 for each INT, while a 6 pt/td league will count -2 for INTs. So, maybe you choose QBs who have the largest TD/INT ratio.

I can tell you that I’ve rarely done this type of analysis on the QB position. The two systems are just too similar in overall point production. Especially this year, when the QB position is deeper than its been in decades (if ever), such an analysis could be overkuill and you could erroneously convince yourself to reach too high for a QB when there are still stud RBs and WRs remaining instead.

      2. D Williams is worth a RD 6 handcuff if you’re getting Bell. This is similar to last year’s situation. Look at what Williams did last year. He still put up a very good year. With the Bell/Williams scenario, you almost have a fool-proof guaranteed RB1, even with an injury to Bell later in the season. That scenario maybe only exists with 1 or 2 other teams. AP, Gurley, DJohnson, LMiller, etc. etc. etc…. if that 1st round pick goes down with an injury during the season, it’s a coin flip as to whether their backup is a true handcuff. Bell in 1st and DWill in 6th is a good bet IMO.

    2. 1) we run the cheat sheet with 5 point passing TDs so it works for all. Use it the same way.

      2) We don’t think he’s a must-have if you have Bell but certainly a really-want-to-have. We’re comfortable telling Le’Veon owners they can bend the rules somewhat to make sure they get Deangelo, but how early you reach is up to you. I would not use an early 6th on him now that the suspension has been reduced, but again, up to you and your level of risk.

    3. Post By WhiteGermanShepherd

Yes, he is- and in a 10 team draft reaching is a little more acceptable because there are still plenty of good players on the board in the format. However, we don’t believe most of your league mates will go out of their way that early in a 10 man league with tons of good players on the board to spend a RD6 pick on a player they’ll only get the 3 games out of.

So if the decision is between another potentially important starter on your roster who is high on the sheet- if you need them take them and hope DWill slides one more round to you. This is especially true, if you have nabbed a few other RBs prior to RD6 you are comfortable leaning on first 3 weeks of season. That way if you miss on DWill in the following rounds- you won’t be in horrible shape- and then you can just trade for DeAngelo post draft prior to Week1 or post Week 3 when his value will completely plummet. It is worth mentioning we really like 2/3 of DWills matchups to start the season.

I notice that you have freeman ahead of elliott and charles in the cheat sheet but freeman is ranked lower than those two in the overall rankings. Why is this the case? I am asking because I have done a couple drafts in the twelfth position and am consistently choosing freeman over charles and/or elliott at this pick.

    1. I think it’s related to risk factor. Elliott may be suspended. Plus, he’s a rookie with an unknown injury history. Charles is a walking injury history. The cheat sheet is partly built around the idea that you want to minimize risk with each selection.

    2. The cheat sheet is not rankings, it’s a valuable tool for drafting. sometimes rankings and cheat sheet slotting differ greatly. We recommend following the three simple rules.

  3. Which RBs to you think MUST be handcuffed, as not all 1/2 round RBs have backups that are worthy of stretching for?

    1. You want to handcuff

David Johnson with Chris Johnson – easy to do
Zeke with Alfred Morris – easy to do
Shady with Jonathan Williams – easy to do

Le’Veon with Deangelo – not as easy to do
Demarco with Henry – not as easy to do

  4. thanks guys. one more question and this may be a very dumb one, but..

follow the rules, even if i have already taken a TE and somehow my next pick, the sheet says take another TE and there are no ties with that TE?

    1. if that happens you can bend the rules some – however if the TE is a lot higher up on the sheet than the other position player, we say follow the rules. we try to create the sheet to where it doesn’t take more than two TEs in most drafts, but we generally like to not take two unless one is a late-round backup. There was a small issue with TEs that was causing some people to get multiple TEs on version 3.0 of the PPR sheet which was addressed in 3.1 and should be pretty much fixed in 3.2 which should be up any minute here on Monday afternoon/evening. Best of luck brother.

      1. awesome. thanks a lot. first time using yalls stuff so im eager to see how it goes!

  5. Keeper question

12 team, 2 QB league, 1/2 point PPR

Brandon Marshall 5th round or Eric Decker 9th round

    1. Post By WhiteGermanShepherd

Close call- we’d roll the stud in Marshall- still nice value in RD5

    2. I’d go with Marshall there. You’re getting about 3 rounds of value on either player.

I’ve done several mock drafts in the 12 position of a twelve team league and find that I am consistently getting a lot of runningbacks, but not many wide receivers.

I followed the cheat sheet to the letter except for my 13th pick where I decided that I had enough rbs and needed a fourth wr. Is it ok for me to have so many extra rbs?

    1. Hey GrandNagus, just a reminder since this is a public comment section, not to post exact teams and stuff since non-PRO members can see. I edited your comment to take the exact info out, but the answer to the question is that your outcome of having so few receivers is rare based on all of our tests across ADPs and pre-draft ranks at all major sites. We do not anticipate you having that issue at your actual draft when using the sheet. Thanks again.

      1. Post By TheGrandNagus

Sorry, I didn’t consider that. Thank you for all of the advice

      2. hey alex just wanna piggyback off this response to get some clarification going forward on where I should be asking for roster advice going forward this season? I’ve been a pro member for a few years now and you guys have helped me be very successful across all my leagues since then (won 3 out of 4 leagues last year) so going into this season will you guys not be helping with rw team team questions like add/drops and trades and whatnot in these comments? also wanna say love your show on Saturday nights when I get the chance to tune in and hopefully I can get connected through some day! but anyway keep up the great work and I’ll continue using rw as my go to!

      3. I must say I’ve had exactly the same issue when doing several mock drafts on FantasyPros. As you say, that may not be indicative of what is going to happen in my actual draft, but it is concerning .

  7. I play in a TD only league that also rewards Bonus Points for TD distance. Also players recieve double points for scoring out of position i.e a RB catches a TD or a QB rushes for a TD. Would it be best to use the 2QB cheat sheet for this type of league?

    1. Interesting setup. I feel like QBs would be at a premium in this league as they score the most TDs, so we’d certainly recommend the 2QB sheet. Best of luck.

  8. Any chance you guys do a 1st year dynasty cheat sheet?

  9. Post By Bradmcintosh2544@gmail.com

Dynasty Question: I currently have Jimmy Graham, Sefarian-Jenkins, and Tyler Higbee. Debating dropping Jenkins or Higbee for Jared Cook in hopes he can step in and be a solid start this year. What are your thoughts?

    1. Post By Bradmcintosh2544@gmail.com

Sorry I just read the above comment and I can ask this in a PRO member area.

    2. Hate that idea Brad. Cook sucks, and he’s in a split time with Richard Rodgers. If anything we’d try a small trade offer for Hunter Henry. Maybe swap Higbee plus something. Henry is a dynasty STUD.

      -Byron

      1. If you could do Jimmy Graham for Hunter Henry straight up- I think we’d even do that. Maybe the guy would even give you Henry + for Graham or Henry and an upgrade over one of your other players in a 2 for 2 trade involving Henry and Graham

  10. Post By Slidemaster729

Hey guys, great content as always!

I have a couple questions from a ppr dynasty league. My situation is below, just help me figure out how to attack it.

My team is stacked at every position but TE, thanks in large part to drafting rookies well and making good trades with your help. My current TEs are Gates, Ebron and Will Tye. I can really only keep one.

I also have the opportunity to trade for either Zach Ertz or Delanie Walker. The owner wants a running back. Would you trade ameer abdullah or gio bernard for either? Normally I’d say no, but my rbs are Peterson, Hyde, Ingram, bernard, and abdullah, and I just traded for the top overall pick to get Ezekiel Elliott.

Finally, some TE options that will be available in the draft of players people throw back include Fleener, Dwayne Allen, Jordan Cameron, Virgil Greene, and Vance McDonald.

If I can solve this issue, I know I can win the league this year. How would you try to play this out? Thanks a lot!

    1. I don’t know that i’d attempt that trade. i know you’re getting elliott, but who knows how long AP is going to play, so your dynasty rbs might look pretty shaky if AP retires next year and you’ve gotten rid of one of those two backs with ingram and hyde prone to injury. since you are deep there though, you can focus on TEs earlier in your draft. I think fleener and allen are both capable of TE1 numbers, especially Allen. If they didn’t pan out for some reason, I think Gates will hold you down for the season. if you’re set on a trade, i would only offer bernard for walker.

  11. 12team/standard scoring/dynasty

I just got offered the following trade:
I Get – OBJ, Markus Wheaton, Jerick McKinnon
I Give – Hopkins, Doug Martin, Tyler Lockett

Think this’ll make my team even thinner at RB, but would love to hear your thoughts.

    Here’s my team right now:
    QB – Rivers,
RB – Jamaal, LeSean, Doug Martin, Karlos
WR – Hopkins, DeSean,Cobb, Hurns, Locket, Diggs,
    TE – Gates

Also, should I drop Karlos for a free agent like Ware or Agholor?

    Thanks!!

    1. Just scrolled up and saw I shouldn’t post my roster here. Sorry I’ll post this in the PRO area, and look forward to getting your killer advice there.

Your great intel/service is totally worth the $3!

    2. Post By WhiteGermanShepherd

      Rocke,

No, we would not do this trade. Yes, drop for Agholor.

      -Byron

  12. Why are you guys so low on V Jax this year with higher expectations from Winston, you have him well below some other shaky at best wr’s, like agholor, beasley and m wallace, not to mention some completely unproven rookies.

    1. Post By WhiteGermanShepherd

What year are you living in? 2010?

      1. Haha, fair enough, but with only Evans and ASJ(maybe) who else is gonna catch the ball in TB? Just thought it was strange he was so far down on the draft list.

  13. 2QB league with one IR spot, worth putting Tony Romo on the IR spot? Happy with my QB’s but curious where he ranks when healthy.

    1. i’m not bullish on picking him up. yes, he could come back later, but he’s likely to get injured again. it’s happened the past three years. there are plenty of serviceable qbs you could roll with.

  14. Doing my first 2 QB league this year and I have 1st pick out of 10 teams. Do I need to snag Cam since it will be so long before i pick again… or still go A. Brown and pick up a couple QB’s later…. Any advice helps.

Also it is 2 QB, 2 WR, 2 RB and 2 FLEX set up.

    Thanks.
