2023 Fantasy Strength of Schedule Analysis: Quarterbacks
Strength of Schedule: The Quarterbacks
These QBs are about as unsexy as it gets in fantasy, but their strengths of schedule, according to our proprietary SOS tools at Rosterwatch.com, make them strong streaming options depending on the time of the fantasy season.
Fast Start: Geno Smith, Seahawks
Smith falls off a cliff in Week 8 of the season, facing a murderers row of defenses that stymie QB play for the rest of his slate, save a Week 11 tilt with the softened Rams. Prior to that though, Smith has arguably the easiest schedule for an NFL QB, especially in weeks 1 – 4, facing LAR, DET, CAR and NYG in that span. We’re all about fast starts here at RosterWatch, and Geno has the fastest. Roll with him early, but make sure you have a reinforcement to transition into if things get dicey, like the next QB I’ll mention…
In the Middle: Derek Carr, Saints
Carr gets a mixed bag the first 6 weeks of the season on his new team, with the stifling secondaries of TEN, GB, and HOU interspersed among some less formidable opponents. Following Week 6, Carr and the Saints face a sea of favorable matchups. There’s no better run in weeks 7 – 14 than the one that Carr gets including IND, MIN, DET and CAR for good measure.
End Game: Jordan Love, Packers
It’s nice to win games in fantasy, but an early season winning streak is poor consolation for losing out on the championship in the end, in most cases. That’s where newly minted Packers starter Jordan Love comes in. Love actually has a fast start and cherry midseason slate too, but the chef’s kiss is his weeks 14-17 run, where he gets NYG, TB, CAR and MIN lobbed his way in that order. Love is a risk for sure, as he’s a relatively unknown variable compared to many QBs in the league, but you can draft him as your 2nd QB in most cases. His cushy schedule, is just too tasty to ignore.
