Trashman’s Garbage Grab: Week 15

I had second thoughts about posting the Grab this week, as It’s down to the semi-finals in most leagues, and you don’t want to take chances if you don’t have to. But, some folks do have to, and there are probably quite a few others in RW nation who are down to their daily leagues anyway. That being said, here goes nothin’:

Donald Brown RB, Chargers:I don’t love him either, but it looks as if Ryan Mathews is back to bench with injury. If nothing else he’ll rack up receptions in PPR leagues.

Scott Chandler TE, Bills: I figure Chandler’s performance this week will be very close to his 8 catch 81 yd outing against Denver last Sunday. The Packers have a high octane offense like the Broncos, and Kyle Orton is going to have to toss the ball a lot to keep up. He’ll be under pressure enough to have to make many of those passes go Chandler’s way.

Marqise Lee WR, Jaguars: Lee has somehow become the Jags’ most consistent WR, leading the team in receptions over the last two games despite the presence of Shorts and Hurns. He’s also the primary endzone target in Jacksonville, which is something even though they don’t score much. Lee’s matchup this week is right, as he goes against the Ravens who devote their efforts to stopping the run almost entirely.

Charles Johnson WR, Vikings: Johnson isn’t new to the Grab, but he still goes unclaimed in the majority of fantasy leagues, a travesty considering he’s averaging 10.5 points in standard leagues over the past 4 weeks. The Lions have eased up on defense during that time as well, so they meet at a good time.

Derek Hagan WR, Titans: Hagan and Washington had similar outputs last week, but Hagan actually led the team in targets and receptions. Should Kendall Wright sit against the Jets this week, the journeyman stands a good chance to lead the team in looks again.

Kamar Aiken WR, Ravens: It looks like Torrey Smith is going to miss another game, leaving Aiken to get significant looks against the sieve like Jags. Use him while you can.

Harry Douglas WR, Falcons: Douglas’ value depends largely on Julio Jones’ status this week, but that value is considerable should Jones sit. The Steelers are anything but tough against the pass.

Markus Wheaton WR, Steelers: The Falcons don’t contain the pass well either, so Wheaton is a nice play on the other side of the ball. He’s not the TD threat that Martavis Bryant is, but he sees the field just as often, and this should be a high scoring game with plenty of fantasy production to go round.

James Starks RB, Packers:  I like Starks even if Lacy plays against the Bills. His squeaky style matches up better with Buffalo, and Lacy will probably be limited in his carries.

Derek Anderson QB, Panthers: Anderson put up 230 yds and 2 TDs against Tampa earlier this year, and one has to to think his weapons are even sharper at this point of the season. He’s a solid start.

Marquess Wilson WR, Bears: Wilson is starting in place of Brandon Marshall, and the Bears are playing the Saints. Enough said.

Pierre Thomas RB, Saints: Thomas is starting to gain traction in the backfield as Ingram has been struggling a bit as of late. He’s a nice flex this week in PPR leagues.

Matt Asiata RB, Vikings: Asiata has a formidable opponent in the Lions, but he’s getting the carries, and he’s catching balls out of the backfield. He’s more useful in PPR, but he’s worth a shot in deeper standard leagues too.
