Week 5 Garbage Grab

Trashman’s Garbage Grab: Week 5
Options are fewer this week, but with a lot of doubtful or questionable players limping into this Week’s contests, you’re going to need some insurance. Here’s the grab for Week 5…

Running Back
Jeremy McNichols, Titans – 4% owned
McNichols is coming off of a 12 target Week 4 in which he caught 8 of those passes. AJ Brown looks like he’ll return this week, but Julio Jones is still absent, so McNichols should continue to see a role in the passing game against a subpar Jaguars defense.

Samaje Perine/Chris Evans, Bengals – 32% and 2% owned
Perine is the veteran who is line for goal line touches, but Evans has youth and speed on his side. Perine is the safer play, but Evans has the upside. Both are going to need Joe Mixon to sit in order to get anything going though.

Khalil Herbert, Bears – 17% owned
Damien Williams will probably get the start, but Herbert will work in with Williams who is dealing with a thigh bruise. With Justin Fields under center, expect plenty of backfield action against the Raiders.

Wide Receiver
Curtis Samuel, Washington – 33% owned
Samuel is a utility knife, wielded in the right hands, and QB Taylor Heinicke‘s hands seem to be capable. With Antonio Gibson playing on a broken leg, it’s not as bad as it sounds but it isn’t good, Samuel will be used as a runner and a pass-catcher against an up and down Saints team.

Tim Patrick, Broncos – 32% owned
Patrick could be the Broncos’ no.1 WR on Sunday should Courtland Sutton not suit up due to the ankle he rolled on Friday. Even if Sutton does play, he could be more decoy than real threat. If Teddy Bridgewater is cleared from his concussion, Patrick could be in for a big day against an underwhelming Steelers secondary.

Marquez Callaway, Saints – 30% owned
Callaway has scored or gone over 70 yards his last two games, and this week he faces a Washington team that has allowed the 3rd highest fantasy points to WRs this season.

Randall Cobb, Packers – 16% owned
With Marquez Valdes-Scantling on the shelf, the Packers made an effort to get the ball to Cobb and it paid off to the tune of 2 TDs and 69 yards last week. Conn will stay involved this week against a middle of the pack Bengals secondary.

Tight End
Zach Ertz, Eagles – 36% owned
Ertz has 15 targets over the last couple of weeks, 6 more than Dallas Goedert. Tight end is also the position that the Panthers, Philly’s opponent this week, is most susceptible to.

Mo Alie-Cox, Colts – 1% owned
Cox scored twice in week 4, and he’s the preferred red-zone target of Carson Wentz, over Jack Doyle. He’ll face a Baltimore team this week that has allowed the most catches(30) and 2nd most yards(347) to TEs this season.

Quarterback
Jameis Winston, Saints – 34% owned
Winston has been an underachiever the last few weeks, but he can get right this week against a Washington team that has given up the most fantasy points to opposing QBs this season.

Zach Wilson, Jets – 9% owned
It’s hard to say if Wilson is the truth after one decent game in Week 4, but if you’re going to gamble on Wilson, this is the week to do it. The Jets will face an Atlanta team that is our 3rd best matchup for opposing QBs. It also helps his cause that Jamison Crowder is back on the field to gobble up passes underneath.

  1. Great show again today Gents…I have a PPR league dilemma – roster is thin now with Julio and Ridley out – just need 2 of the following: Parker (if a go), Mooney, Ruggs, Zaccheaus, Patrick or Callaway from the garbage grab??? And I can trade Julio for Corey Davis. Thoughts? Good luck this weekend!

    1. I like Patrick, if Teddy goes, and Ruggs. if no Teddy, then Callaway

  2. Flying squirrel 2-2…
Super flex, we can only roster 2 qbs been rolling with Hurts and streaming 2nd QB each week. Currently have Heinecki in but Winston, Trevor, Wilson, Lance,Wentz , and Fields available. 14 team 6 pt passing td

    Thanks

    1. I’d Heinicke in. He’s been solid.

1 PPR, Would you move Tim Patrick over Tee Higgins if Sutton sits or if bridgewater plays? Or roll out higgins regardless? thanks RW

  5. I like Patrick in the case Sutton sits and Teddy plays.

  6. Time to run it down for the NATION. I feel stacked, but it is a 10 team’r
    Starting RBs Cook and Jones
    WRs Allen, Ridley, Metcalf
Flex Gibson/Allen Robinson/SF bacfield (sermon or mitchell)

Would you trade Gibson for J. Chase? I have Cook and Jones both handcuffed

    1. damn that is tough, I want to sell A Gibson but I think I want a little more than Chase

  7. RB2 PPR Hubbard or Mike Davis? HELP!

  8. With injuries today my garbage grab is at RB2. Standard league. Hubbard, Mixon, Perine or Mckissic!

    1. Man I am worried about Mixon, I might play hubbard. Tough call, no one truly knows how limited he will be.

      1. I am with you, ankles and RBs!

  9. .5 ppr

    Need to pick 1
