A Means to Two Ends
A Means to Two Ends

It’s early, but it looks to me like the best receivers on the New England Patriots are their tight ends, Aaron Hernandez and Rob Gronkowski. WR Wes Welker had the biggest night of Patriots not named Brady Monday night against the Dolphins, but much of it was on one play. Not to say that Welker is chopped liver, but I don’t think he will get the end-zone looks like the tight ends will. And don’t get scared away by the thought that there are two tight ends competing for the same action. Hernandez is more of a WR, stretching the field, while Gronkowski plays more of a traditional TE role. Both will get end-zone looks aplenty, as we saw on Monday night, and both are capable of TE 1 numbers this season.
