Cody Carpentier’s NFL Mock Draft 4.0

The College Football Playoffs have reached the Final Four and the NFL Regular Season is Complete. I am back to bring you version 4.0 of my 2025 NFL Mock Draft Series. As every year, the Playoffs can vault some players up or down depending on performance, just like C.J. Stroud in 2023 against the Georgia Bulldogs. The Picks are set and it’s time to expand to a second round, now that it’s “officially” draft season. Some players may return to school, while some players may declare early, the final declaration day is set for January 24th.

The NFL has become a year-round league, from the season, free agency, the draft, and offseason OTA’s to fall camp, the league never sleeps, and neither do we at RosterWatch. Alex and I finished in the middle of the pack in 2024 for the Huddle Report competition, while our guy Mike Band took home 2nd place. So it’s back to the drawing boards and time to begin research on the 2025 class not only to improve our mock draft skills but also to enhance our Dynasty Fantasy Football overview.

Round 1 – (Pick 1-32)

No. 1 – Tennessee Titans – Cam Ward, QB – Miami, FL

I am projecting a quarterback move will be made for the Titans before the 2025 NFL Draft, those options include Aaron Rodgers, Sam Darnold, Justin Fields, Jameis Winston, whichever direction the Titans go, expecting a positional overhaul is imminent. Today, they land the top quarterback in the class, Cam Ward.

No. 2 – Cleveland Browns – Will Campbell, OT – LSU

The Browns need to move on from Deshaun Watson in 2025, but I don’t see how they do, or what the direction of the team is today. If Cleveland commits to the rebuild, they need to know that 2025 is a paper bag helmet type of a season and Myles Garrett and Denzel Ward being traded is how you get it started.

No. 3 – New York Giants – Shedeur Sanders, QB – Colorado

This feels like a clear trade-back spot to acquire assets, however, outside of Las Vegas or the New York Jets, I’m not sure who is calling or if the Giants are willing to pass on another quarterback like they did in 2024.

No. 4 –New England Patriots – Travis Hunter, CB/WR – Colorado

The best overall player in the 2025 NFL Draft and Heisman Trophy winner, not a lot needs to be said. Hunter will start at Cornerback on day 1 opposite Christian Gonzalez and work in on the offense as opportunity warrants.

No. 5 – Jacksonville Jaguars – Will Johnson, CB – Michigan

Going Offensive Line or Defensive Line would be appropriate for the Jaguars at No.5, but we said the same thing in 2024 and they passed for one of the best Wide Receivers in the class and still missed the playoffs. Johnson improves a secondary in dire need of an alpha.

No. 6 – Las Vegas Raiders – Tetairoa McMillan, WR – Arizona

Keeping an eye on Las Vegas this spring, many directions they could go with Pick No. 6, they clearly need a quarterback, but is there one that belongs in the Top 10? No. The Raiders will check in on Aaron Rodgers and Sam Darnold I’m sure. In 2024 we heard murmurs that the Raiders “would have” debated taking Quinn Ewers at No. 13 overall, so that door is a potential in Round 2. Regardless, they need a Wide Receiver to take some pressure off of Brock Bowers and whoever the Quarterback is.

No. 7 – New York Jets – Kelvin Banks, OT – Texas

The Jets are in an interesting place, Aaron Rodgers is all but out the door and Sam Darnold is a no-go. 5th rounder Jordan Travis could see an opportunity open up for competition with whatever rookie New York adds in April. Let’s add some depth to the Offensive Line with Tyron Smith and Morgan Moses departing.

No. 8 – Carolina Panthers – Abdul Carter, EDGE – Penn State

It great was to see Bryce Young finish the season with 18 total touchdowns and 4 interceptions since Week 9. The Panthers finished 4-6 over that time with one-score losses to Kansas City, Tampa Bay, and Philadelphia. Quarterback is no longer a need, sacking the opposing Quarterback is, and after trading away Brian Burns, the Panthers finished 2nd to last in the NFL with 1.9 sacks per game in 2024.

No. 9 – New Orleans Saints – Luther Burden, WR – Missouri

Wide Receiver helps, but I’m not sure it’s the biggest need, that might be just finding good health in 2025.

No. 10 – Chicago Bears – Josh Simmons, OT – Ohio State

The Bears took a step forward in getting after quarterback in 2024, leaping from 30 sacks to 40 after acquiring Montez Sweat and Darrell Taylor. The problem in 2024 came on the opposite side of the football, Caleb Williams was sacked a LEAGUE HIGH, 68 times.

No. 11 – San Francisco 49ers – Mason Graham, DT – Michigan

No. 14 – Indianapolis Colts – Jahdae Barron, CB – Texas
