Cody Carpentier’s Three-Round 2025 NFL Mock Draft
The NFL Regular Season is nearly Complete with the Super Bowl upcoming and the Senior and Shrine Bowls in the rearview mirror. The following is version 6.0 of my 2025 NFL Mock Draft Series. As every year, the Draft process can vault some players up or down depending on performance, just like C.J. Stroud in 2023 against the Georgia Bulldogs in the CFP or Xavier Worthy at the NFL Combine. The Picks are set and it’s time to expand to a third round, now that it’s “officially” draft season. The Senior and Shrine Bowls are in the rearview mirror, let’s look forward to the NFL Combine next week and project what may happen… with Trades!
The NFL has become a year-round league, from the season, free agency, the draft, and offseason OTA’s to fall camp, the league never sleeps, and neither do we at RosterWatch. Alex and I finished in the middle of the pack in 2024 for the Huddle Report competition, while our guy Mike Band took home 2nd place. So it’s back to the drawing boards and time to begin research on the 2025 class not only to improve our mock draft skills but also to enhance our Dynasty Fantasy Football overview.
This mock specifically features some outside thoughts, and projections some might say, regarding the 2025 NFL Combine, take note, sit back, and enjoy the week that is the NFL Combine, one of my favorite weeks of the year.
Round 1 – (Pick 1-32)
No. 1 – Tennessee Titans – Abdul Carter, EDGE – Penn State
Abdul Carter and Cam Ward from Miami are the only two names attached to Tennessee as we enter NFL Combine Week. The Titans have the cash to attack Quarterback in Free Agency if they don’t view Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders as Cornerstone assets.
No. 2 – Cleveland Browns – Shedeur Sanders, QB – Colorado
NFL Teams will not all be on the same page when it comes to this Quarterback conversation, they rarely are. With Tommy Rees (OC) and Kevin Stefanski (HC) in control in Cleveland, I see Sanders as their projected QB1, due to his pocket presence, accuracy, and similarities to historical system quarterbacks for Rees and Stefanski.
No. 3 – New York Giants – Cam Ward, QB – Miami
The Giants are in limbo as we head to Indianapolis this week, rumors are already swirling about Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp each making the move from LA to New York, if that happens, don’t be surprised if this pick is Travis Hunter or the Giants trade down with Las Vegas.
No. 4 –New England Patriots – Will Campbell, OT – LSU
I’m sticking strong on Will Campbell here for the Patriots, in the rare world that Abdul Carter falls, I think that’s the play, but protecting your Franchise Quarterback has to be at the Top of the Cheat Sheet for the Patriots.
No. 5 – Jacksonville Jaguars – Travis Hunter, CB/WR – Colorado
Some are calling him Generational, some only call him a Cornerback, but everyone has to call him a Heisman Trophy-winning, 1,000-yard receiving, natural superstar at cornerback. Jacksonville gets the slam dunk pick of the first round with Hunter, who doesn’t have to be the feature on offense because they have weapons like Brian Thomas and Travis Etienne.
No. 6 –Las Vegas Raiders – Shemar Stewart, EDGE – Texas A&M
This pick will be consumed with some confusion today, but look no further than Thursday night this next week at Lucas Oil Stadium. Stewart finished with just 3 sacks total over the last two seasons, however, he blew up the Senior Bowl in January and is expected to test nearly on par, impressively with Abdul Carter.
No. 7 – New York Jets – Jaxson Dart, QB – Ole Miss
I don’t love this one, but all signs point to Dart being the third quarterback off of the board and the Jets are in a spot that features limited cash to spend, no quarterback of consequence under contract, and the likelihood that your choice at QB is not there in Round 2. Oh, and new Senior Advisor Rick Spielman is on record singing praises for Dart as a passer.
No. 8 – Carolina Panthers – Will Johnson, CB – Michigan
Jaycee Horn hasn’t been as elite in the NFL as he was as a prospect and early in his career and a lot can be pointed at injuries. If the Panthers land Will Johnson from Michigan, they may just end up with the best cornerback duo for the next 5 years.
No. 9 – New Orleans Saints – Ashton Jeanty, RB – Boise State
The idea of being $50 Million dollars in the red and drafting a running back at 9 overall are not ones I want to envision for anyone as a team builder. However, one of the few ways to rationalize moving off of Alvin Kamara this summer is to take his predecessor on April 24th.
No. 10 – Chicago Bears – Kelvin Banks, OT – Texas
Many are worried about Banks’ length at the next level and weather he will play Tackle or Guard, it doesn’t matter here, the Bears need Tackle, Guard, and Center.. draft the most talented Offensive Lineman and figure the rest out in August.
No. 11 – San Francisco 49ers – Mason Graham, DL – Michigan
I said earlier that the Jaguars had the easiest selection of the day, I lied. That belongs to the 49ers, who grab the clear and away DT1 in a super-loaded Defensive Tackle class. WOW!
No. 12 – Dallas Cowboys – Jalon Walker, LB – Georgia
What’s better than one #11 (Parsons), two #11’s. Walker played 311 snaps in the box at linebacker, 249 on the defensive line, and 61 in the slot, according to PFF. He’s a true menace with raw traits that can help Dallas get back to having a daunting, maniacal pass rush like they once had off both Edges.
No. 13 – Miami Dolphins – Kenneth Grant, DL – Michigan
Another projected Super-tester for the 2025 NFL Combine, many went goo-goo-ga-ga for Mazi Smith years ago, Jordan Davis and recently T’Vondre Sweat, as big guys with movement/testing skills. Grant is projected to take the cake, and eat it.
No. 14 – Indianapolis Colts – Tyler Warren, TE – Penn State
The most common mock draft landing spot outside of the Top 10 picks? Edge isn’t out of the question here either, but let’s find Anthony Richardson a Tight End once and for all.
No. 15 – Atlanta Falcons – James Pearce, EDGE – Tennessee
Once viewed as a Top 5 pick, entering the 2024 season off of a 10-sack sophomore campaign, expectations began at an unrealistic level and have since dropped with new names like Jalon Walker, Mykel Williams, and Shemar Stewart jumping to the forefront. Expect a freakish performance in Indianapolis, putting him right back in the conversation.
No. 16 – Arizona Cardinals – Nic Scourton, EDGE – Texas A&M
For those counting at home, this is the 5th Defensive Lineman in the last 6 selections.
No. 17 – Cincinnati Bengals – Mykel Williams, EDGE – Georgia
Here is your 6th defender in 7 picks. Williams dominated and broke out in a big way against Texas early this season. With a mediocre 11% pass rush win rate and no seasons with more than 5 sacks, according to the college sports reference, Williams is a bit of a projection.
No. 18 – Seattle Seahawks – Walter Nolen, DL – Ole Miss
Just one more, I promise. Many believe Nolen has Top-10 traits and size, but I can’t get the picture out of my head from Mobile of seeing Nolen lined up next to guys like Barryn Sorrell(Texas) and Shemar Stewart(Texas A&M), both edge rushers who were visually more impressive. I view Nolen as closer to a Javon Kinlaw-level prospect rather than a Ed Oliver/Aaron Donald type.
No. 19 – Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Josh Simmons, OT – Ohio State
If Simmons had not torn his patellar tendon in early October, conversations would be had for Simmons as a Top-10 pick. Expect medicals to come back good in Indianapolis and those conversations to seep in as the draft approaches.
No. 20 – Denver Broncos – Tetairoa McMillan, WR – Arizona
One thing the media might portray to you is that Tetairoa McMillan is by far and away the best Wide Receiver in the 2025 NFL Draft, I’m not so sure about that and as the picks go by, he isn’t the easiest to find a team for. Many are mocking him to the Raiders or Patriots, but what happens when they attack positions with more value, like Defensive Line and Offensive Tackle?
No. 21 – Pittsburgh Steelers – Omarion Hampton, RB – North Carolina
Najee Harris gave the Steelers everything he had, 1,000+ rushing yards in each of his 4 seasons and never missing a game. Like any logical front office, you let the 27-year-old walk and draft a fresh-legged 22-year-old phenom with back-to-back 1,500-yard seasons in the ACC.
No. 22 – Los Angeles Chargers – Matthew Golden, WR – Texas
The Chargers need to keep swinging at receiver, Ladd McConkey was a hit, but the departure of the DJ Chark and Joshua Palmer experiments, enter stage left is the late-season junior breakout, Matthew Golden from Texas.
No. 23 – Green Bay Packers – Shavon Revel, CB – East Carolina
Revel tore his ACL in September, liking means he won’t return until fall camp or the regular season, with no testing his stock likely stays in this late 1st/early 2nd round. The Packers are watching the Jaire Alexander era end while seeing Eric Stokes struggle to stay on the field. It’s a need and a value. Jahdae Barron and Benjamin Morrison are also debatable here.
No. 24 – Minnesota Vikings – Jahdae Barron, CB – Texas
Only Mekhi Blackmon is under contract for the Vikings at cornerback, they expect to have Byron Murphy back but need another ball-hawking play maker. That’s exactly what Jahdae Barron is.
No. 25 – Houston Texans – Emeka Egbuka, WR – Ohio State
With Stefon Diggs likely off to Dallas and Tank Dell out for the 2025 season, Stroud vouches for another receiving option, this time a guy who finished with 74 receptions, 10 touchdowns, and 1,151 yards with him in 2022.
No. 26 – Los Angeles Rams – Donovan Jackson, OL – Ohio State
When Josh Simmons went down, Jackson proved he could move outside and play tackle. The Rams need Guard and Tackle, but Joe Noteboom and Alaric Jackson are both free agents at Left Tackle, leaving a gaping open hole on the Rams offensive line.
No. 27 – Baltimore Ravens – Malaki Starks, S – Georgia
On one hand, I can see Starks go as high as 9th overall to New Orleans or fall to the last pick in Round 1 to the Eagles. Let’s not let that Georgia thing happen again, for Howie.
No. 28 – Detroit Lions – Grey Zabel, OL – North Dakota State
Kevin Zeitler turns 35 this spring and enters free agency a week late, Zabel crushed the Senior Bowl, proving his flexibility on the offensive line with the ability to play all 5 positions.
No. 29 – Washington Commanders – Luther Burden, WR – Missouri
My No. 1 ranked Wide Receiver is not viewed in the same breath by some in NFL circles, however, the Commanders need more weapons for the 2024 Rookie of the Year, Jayden Daniels. Dyami Brown, Noah Brown, and Olamide Zaccheaus all depart this spring. Expect the Commanders to draft 2 receivers and a running back this time around.
No. 30 – Buffalo Bills – Nick Emmanwori, S – South Carolina
I’ll hold my comments in for Emmanwori. Just turn NFL Network on this coming Friday at 3 pm ET.
No. 31 – Kansas City Chiefs – Josh Conerly, OT – Oregon
Anyone who watched the Super Bowl earlier this month could tell you Offensive Tackle is a must-draft. I actually called my Grandmother for this one and asked if she preferred an Offensive Tackle from Oregon, Alabama A&M, or Missouri.
No. 32 – Philadelphia Eagles – Armand Membou, OT – Missouri
Mekhi Becton was great in 2024 as a Right Guard, but he enters free agency with an impending bag on the way. The Eagles nab Membou here at 32 with eyes on playing him at Right Guard in 2025 and moving outside once Lane Johnson decides to retire.
Round 2 – (Pick 33-64)
No. 33 – Cleveland Browns – Jihaad Campbell, LB – Alabama
No. 34 – New York Giants – Tyler Booker, OL – Alabama
No. 35 – Tennessee Titans – Isaiah Bond, WR – Texas
No. 36 – Jacksonville Jaguars – Darius Alexander, DL – Toledo
No. 37 – Las Vegas Raiders – TreVeyon Henderson, RB – Ohio State
No. 38 – New England Patriots – Colston Loveland, TE – Michigan
