Seantavius Jones, WR Valdosta State Blazers
Height: 6’3″
Weight: 209 pounds
40 yard dash: 4.56
NFL Comparison: Dez Bryant
Scouting Notes:
Seantavius Jones is a beast of a receiver who likes to punish defenders with his blocking. At 6’3″, 209 lbs, he has a lot of body to throw around, and his arms are long even for his size, displacing corners with ease. If only his hands measured up to his athleticism. He doesn’t have terrible mitts, no, but compared to the rest of him, his hands are pedestrian. He does catch the ball out in front of him the majority of the time, though. Jones’ 40 speed isn’t breathtaking, but he seems much faster on the field, which bodes well for his chances to succeed at the next level.
Fantasy Outlook:
Jones is a physical specimen and that can make up for occasional drops, a la Dez Bryant. He needs to be more aggressive in taking to the ball, but I think he’ll improve in that department as his confidence grows. He’s worth a pickup in dynasty leagues based on purely on his athleticism. He could do some damage with the right coaching.
