Geno Smith
Age: 31
Movement: Rising
Previous Rank unranked
Updated Rank QB39
Geno is old for an NFL player, but as far as QBs go, he’s still got ample time to produce, theoretically. There isn’t a high ceiling for Smith in Seattle, as he’s a pocket passer in a run first offense, but he seems to have the edge on Drew Lock, based on recent news out of camp. The Seahawks could still make a trade for Jimmy Garoppolo or Baker Mayfield, but for now it looks like Smith could be the day 1 starter. He goes from being unranked to at least having a seat at the table. Concurrently, Lock falls from QB32 to QB40.
Khalil Herbert
Age: 24
Movement: Rising
Previous Rank RB43
Updated Rank RB41
Herbert is the main beneficiary of Tarik Cohen‘s recent heartbreaking Achilles tendon rupture. Already on the upswing with news that the Bears are “transitioning into a run-heavy team with the outside zone”, Herbert is now the main pass-catching option out of the backfield for a team with a QB who’s still learning the game. With safety blanket written all over him, Herbert’s stock is on the rise. I expect him to continue to move up the rankings throughout the offseason.
Parris Campbell
Age: 25
Movement: Rising
Previous Rank WR91
Updated Rank WR84
The term “100 percent healthy” is a tenuous one, when it comes to football players, but for the first time in several years, Parris Campbell says he is just that. He’s been a full participant in offseason workouts, so it holds up so far. It’s a long offseason, so a lot could happen healthwise, but Campbell stands to enter the season as the no.2 receiving option behind Michael Pittman come September. With Matt Ryan at the helm, that’s not a bad place to be. One of my favorite receiving prospects going into the 2019 draft, Campbell has everything you want in a slot receiver, when healthy.
